Very Useful
This book is an outstanding reference for the primary care pediatrician in office practice. It is much better oriented to day-to-day pediatrics than Nelson's and its imitators. The CD-ROM is very useful and easy to navigate. As a bonus, the CD-ROM contains all of the excellent illustrations for Zitelli & Davis' superb Atlas of Pediatric Physical Diagnosis.

SF for those who think they know what SF is.
Anytime you have Burroughs, Ballard, Metzger, and R. A. Wilson together in a collection you know it's just the kind of good, clean fun you mother warned you about. (Not to mention the Rev. Stang!)
There are some great short stories in this collection. There are also a few which aren't great, but if you fancy yourself as more-subversive-than-thou, you simply aren't if you don't have a copy of this.
I've had this book for more than a decade, and it is still read often, and displayed proudly in my most prominent bookshelf.

Delicious, original collection of serious Sci Fi
And no, the material presented in this anthology is not for the faint of heart. While some of the pieces may not fit the Science Fiction stereotype >aliens, outer space, etc.< all of them test new waters, explore deeper into the recesses of the human mind, and present the varying truths found in unique, raw, and above all, fun (at least imho) formats. Don't misunderstand - it serves up its share of sex and blood and good times. The real depth starts the day, years after you've read it - when something everyday strikes a chord of familiarity, and you recall this or that story, and how weird it was to your senses. Then it has affected your frame of reference. The adjustment is highly recommended. ;-)

great collection
This is a great collection of some really out-there short stories. They're SF for the not-so-faint of heart.

Book Description
The 22nd Massachusetts Infantry was raised through the efforts of Republican senator Henry Wilson. It met its first trial by fire at Yorktown. Later, the regiment suffered tremendous casualties at Gaines' Mill. The regiment, part of the Fifth Corps, was engaged at Malvern Hill, Shepherdstown, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. At Gettysburg, the 22nd Massachusetts and the 2nd Company Massachusetts Sharpshooters, which was attached to the regiment, were engaged in the wheatfield, near the Rose woods. In 1864, the regiment served in the Wilderness and Spotsylvania battles, losing a large portion of its rank and file. Due to its heavy losses throughout the war, the 22nd Massachusetts Infantry earned the distinction of being one of Fox's "Fighting 300" Union regiments. Included is information about the 2nd Company of Massachusetts Sharpshooters and the 3rd Light Battery, both of which were attached to the 22nd Massachusetts.

A very interesting study from a Wesleyan perspective
As the title suggests this is a book about Grace. There is not a simple definition of what grace is, rather these essays as a whole seek, through a variety of topics and disciplines, to define Grace in an expansive way, realizing this to be a term so loaded with meaning and importance that simple definitions will not suffice. Specifically, however, these essays are coming primarily from a distinct Wesleyan perspective, in honor of a man who has spent his life and career developing and pondering such a perspective, Thomas Langford. In his own book, Practical Divinity: Theology in the Wesleyan Perspective, Dr. Langford sought to show how deep thought, academic engagement, and varieties of methods and traditions are important only insomuch as they reach out to the common person, and result in transformed thoughts and lives. In the same way, the collection of essays before us seek to show how wide, deep, and meaningful Grace truly is. The book is divided in to four sections, each devoted to essays from a specific discipline or focus.
The first part focuses on Biblical essays, that is writings which seek to discover how grace is seen within the Biblical narratives and letters. The second part focuses on grace seen in history, the third on grace seen in theology, and the fourth studies grace from the perspective of culture.
All in all a very good, and valuable, text.

Nonsense
I was given this book as a gift by a friend who knows that I like to know every side to each story. I have read this book and many others on both sides of the Evolution vs. Creation debate. This book and three others by this author left me wondering where this individual comes from! I found so many passages of failed logic, contradiction, and out-right lies, it wasn't funny! After forcing myself to read the last 3/4 of the book I was left wanting the time I had spent reading this garbage back. If you aren't brain-washed, you'll want to throw this book in the trash after the first few chapters.

This man, Carl Baugh, is simply a huxter looking to suck money from the wallets of the unsuspecting public. Please, don't let yourself be fooled by this book if you chose to read it. Afterwards, I suggest you purchase a book by Stephen Jay Gould. Though he uses very complex English, if you take the time, you'll get much more appreciation for the validties and errors of both sides of the arguement.

This book makes no attempt at presenting "facts" in a non-biased, scientific fashion.

very scientific
The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it's a bit hard to read: the scientific things are well done, but some of them can be a bit hard for a non-scientist to get into.

The pictures are excellent, (photos), the documentation is relentless... all in all a good resource for people interested in Creationism or dinosaurs. There's clear documentation of the human and dinosaur footprints being together -- even overlapping. It's a fascinating book, even though the writing is scholarly and occasionally inaccesible. Extremely well-documented.

Especially intriguing were the things about giant footprints... I wish they'd talked even more about these!

If you're interested in this subject at all, you should probably check it out.

Dinosaurs and Man together?
Very inciteful book! This isn't for just Christians. Presents clear FACTS that dinosaurs and man walked together. It's a must read!
