Enjoyable to the end!
My husband and I both read your book and loved it! We couldn't put it down. Enjoyed every minute of it. The movie and the book were both great! It will be a family favorite in our house for years to come.

Tearbreaking and heartfelt
I read this truly great novel after seeing the screeplay. The novel is really rich in detail and emotion. I usually never feel this way about litterature but with this novel it is quite different. I can only recommend this masterpiece for everyone to read. I also began reading about the Indians and I now have a fascination for them.

EMOTIONAL, INTENSE, AND HEARTWARMING
I bought this book after the movie came out and I've never regreted it. If anybody even remotely likes the movie, then they'll absolutely love the book. It gets so in debth about what he is thinking and feeling that you can't help but cry at the end just like the movie. So far I've probably read Dances with Wolves at least 20 times.

Very Useful
This book is an outstanding reference for the primary care pediatrician in office practice. It is much better oriented to day-to-day pediatrics than Nelson's and its imitators. The CD-ROM is very useful and easy to navigate. As a bonus, the CD-ROM contains all of the excellent illustrations for Zitelli & Davis' superb Atlas of Pediatric Physical Diagnosis.

About the movie!
If you liked the movie then this book is a must! Not only was Kevin Costner make one of the best films in history but he followed it up with this great book! My daughter picked this one up for me at a library sale. I didn't even know it existed to be honest or I would have purchased it myself. The book is a bit tattered so I checked out the local bookstore and although they didn't have it on the shelf, it can be ordered. If you liked the movie then consider this book for your collection. I fully recommend this great work of art by Mister Costner and friend.

If you hunger for more this book will satisfy
I wonder if Kevin Costner even realizes the artistic and historic contribution he has made with this film. As an artist I found this book to satisfy my graphic appetite and as a romantic I have, once again, been allowed to travel back in time. Mr. Costner has shown us his artistic brilliance in so many ways and I thank him for his efforts. Enjoy the book; it is a treasure.

World political, economic, and social trends via graphics
I use this book with middle school kids. It is useful to make clear the variations between nations and peoples of the world. Examples: how old is your nation? Which nations sell or buy tobacco? Where are children poor or uneducated? What other nations have rights like ours?

Buy This Book!!!
I read this book, and it is GREAT! It shows great maps that are easy to understand. Even my kids love to look at this book.

So Simple and So True
The concept that nature is conscious is not new. It is only new to western thinking. This book can be read on multiple levels. It is a great story, in the story you can see how to contact nature yourself, and on a deeper level you can see that all live is One and Divine.

Excelent reading!
This book deals with the inner truth of nature and God. Before I read this book, I was an atheist and assumed the author was a babbling tree-hugger. Now, after reading this book, I view nature as a universified intelligence that accepts everyone. This book opened new passageways for inner truth and acceptance of God. What a great book to begin studies in the New Age/metapsychical movement!

A valuable addition to a personal scientific library
This is the one and only text book I have ever read from cover-to-cover because it was interesting enough to hold my attention, and because it was written in such a way that the sections which discussed areas of bacteriology already known to me became useful exercises in revision. As a bacteriologist entering the complex world of eukaryotic cell signalling for the first time, this has been an invaluable text for me. The authors are to be congratulated on writing a text book on a subject which at times can be highly complex - since they have made the subject matter accessible to all, from grad students to research professors. The diagrams are without exception clear and concise, and the chosen literature for further reading is well-sourced. My only criticism is that some of the diagrams may have been easier to decipher if presented in colour - but I suspect the publishers were trying to keep printing costs to a minimum.

I do hope the authors consider producing updated revisions of this text as this field of microbiology progresses.

Good demonstration of strategies
This may not be what you expect. It is actually a book of annotated games. The annotations are appropriate to early intermediate players -- not full of deep variations, but also not just some dumb comment on every move (which is especially annoying in the opening). It's more like every 3rd or 4th move. This is perfect for describing strategies concisely.

The strategies are practical, not deep. The games were carefully selected to illuminate basic principles. These are not "brilliancies" with sudden, crushing defeats based on deeply analyzed tactics. These show one player making stronger moves than his opponent -- stronger, but still understandable. I think the author has done a good job with his selection.

Each section does have about 2 pages of text describing the principles, but it's mainly a book to be used with a chess board. Play the moves and read the author's comments. Sometimes he points out the tactical threats (which are obvious to an advanced player) and that's where a board is useful.

I would recommend this book instead of Chernev's "Logical Chess Move by Move", unless you are truly a beginner (adult) hoping to get a feel for the drama in the struggles on the chessboard. (Chernev's book has far more diagrams per game too.) It is as instructive as Bronstein's highly praised annotations of the Zurich International, but at a much lower level.

USCF 1400-1700 rating.

4 stars as an inexpensive and comprehensibly annotated collection of elucidating games. But if you're on a budget, skip this book and buy one of Reinfeld's puzzle books.

Now reprinted in algebraic
This is indeed a clear, pithy middlegame book. But the one thing I have to add is that the Dover edition is a reprint and has been redone in *algebraic* notation.

Astonishing!
One of the best intermediate level books you will ever see. It is truly astonishing how lucid and poignant this book on chess strategy. If you like great chess writing (e.g. Silman, Purdy, Marovic, Romanovsky, etc.) you must have this book. It is perhaps the most important summary of chess strategy that I have (and I have all of them!)
