Nothin' like 'em 'round here.
I never knew how grand the bakeries of Paris where until I read Boulangerie! I wish we had a similar tradition in my home town. I love bread and soup above all other foods! Some day, when I visit Paris, I'll search the city with a copy of this pocket guide in my hand.
I also enjoyed the pictures of the boulangeries of Paris on the authors Web site: Dorseybooks.com

A TIME MANAGEMENT NECESSITY
Let's face it, whether you are visiting Paris for the first or the fifth time, there never seems to be enough time to squeeze everything in. Everyone should take at least one evening or one afternoon for a 3-star dinner or lunch; but, when you are busily going from sight to sight, who has that kind of time? This book is perfect for letting you find bakeries with a wonderful range of foods you can carry away with you. I found that the descriptions of each bakery carried their specialities and any unusual items they carried. The first time you find a conveniently located establishment when you are trying to get from point A to point B, you will know what a treasure it is. The size makes it very convenient to take with you as well.

An Essential Pre-Paris-Trip Book
This book is a jewel. It made our first Paris trip that much more special by introducing us to some exceptionally fine bakeries. This pocket-sized book not only gives you a listing of the fine Boulangeries (organized by arrondisements, includes the address & phone number, closest metro or bus stop, when they are open, and what's special about each) but tells you where to go (nearby picnic spots) and eat the bread and goodies that you buy at these Boulangeries -- this is what truly made the book special. We tried "Robineau" in the 7th and "Gerard Beufort" in the 5th as listed in this book and we were not disappointed. Both had wonderful baked goods, the former within a short walk to the Champ de Mars and Eiffel, and the latter, a 3-minute walk away from Arenes de Lutece, the ancient Roman amphitheater which is a perfect picnic spot. You could use this book to plan your breakfasts and picnic lunches as a nice balance to the Bistro-dining in Paris.

Great Review Book
The review questions in this book are good for reviewing before Gross Anatomy exams or board exams. The questions were slightly less difficult than the actual exam questions in my M1 Gross couse, but they cover such a broad range of topics, that you get an idea of how well you have covered the material for the exam.

How many time zones are there in the Soviet Union?
Maybe that title should be "were" rather than are....oh well. Anyways, I haven't read the book, but Jack Wilson is my philosophy professor at Washington & Lee University and he really seems to know what he's talking about.
By the way, there are (were) 11 time zones in the Soviet Union.

Great Dissector by a Great Teacher
Dr. Jack Wilson, the course director of the Univ of Tennessee College of Medicine Gross Anatomy class is an excellent teacher, and this book is an extension of his teaching skills. All the major anatomical landmarks are presented in bold type so that you can recognize them quickly and your dissection can be accomplished quicker. This book is also useful outside the lab as a study guide for gross anatomy exams.

Back in Action!
F. Paul Wilson's iconic hero-without-a-history, Repairman Jack, is back for his seventh, and possibly finest, adventure.

News of an accident involving his estranged father sends the self-styled Mr. Fix-it to a creepy retirement community in Florida, where longevity is a theory, not a practice.

If the culture shock isn't hard enough for NY's native son, a string of unsolved murders and some very creepy locals alert Jack to the fact that the supernatural Otherness, which has been plaguing him since Wilson's THE TOMB, is back for another helping.

With enough action, firepower, one-liners, and wicked monsters for a a dozen novels, GATEWAYS showcases F. Paul Wilson and Jack in top form-- kicking bum and taking names.

See for yourself why Repairman Jack is the greatest series hero in modern genre fiction!

Friends cook up a great book!
This cookbook is awesome! It's a must-have for Friends afficionados. It has everything from Monica's sophisticated tastes to Joey's simple, delicious dishes. Plus, it is filled with quotes, pictures, and clever definitions and discussion pages. The recipies are great and the presentation of the book is just plain fun. Whether you are accustomed to cooking lox, linguini and lobster or not, this book has something for everyone.

AWESOME BOOK!!!
This is my favorite cookbook, and has been since I got it. The recipies are yummy, and extremely easy to make! Try the mac and cheese, joey's best burgers, caeser salad, and the meatballs just for a few... I've never been dissapointed. I promise you'll love it!

Try the basil tomato sandwich!
This is my favorite cookbook. The basil tomato sandwich is so easy
to make and everyone will love you for making it!

Much more than a cookbook
Homesick for Texas, and all those good eats? This is the book for you. It is much more than a cookbook, it is a piece of Texas to be read and savored. Having eaten at all the locations of Threadgill's and having spent many (too many, according to my college transcript) at Armadillo World Headquarters, opening this book was like a trip back home. Sure, there are the receipes for all the Threadgill's classics, including all the vegetable dishes. Sure you can try to make the wonderful chicken fried steak, but intertwined in all those recepies is the history of Threadgills, and the people who were there. You learn the thinking behind the place many called home, you remember the brand names of products that made Texas cooking great. You also get a bird's eye view of the Texas music scene and all the colorful people who inhabited that time and place. Threadgill's kept me from getting too homesick when I left Dallas, and moved to Austin. This book keeps me from getting too homesick for home.

Eat your vegetables!
Hands down, the greatest cookbook ever written (take that, Better Homes & Gardens!). If you've never been to Threadgill's, you've never truly experienced the bounty of God's green earth - but you can get a fantastic taste of it with this book. I cook something from this book almost every day, which may not mean I'm the healthiest soul alive, but I sure get my veggies! If you thought a down-home cookbook was just a bunch of artery-clogging recipes for fried vegetables, you're only 10% right. In addition to fabulous recipes, this cookbook is actually an entertaining book to sit down and read! Trust me, it will find its way to that revered shelf in your bookcase that's reserved for the family Bible and the baby books. Yee hah!

A taste of home
As someone who moved from Austin to Washington, DC years back---and whose friends still ask me why, I don't have an answer. But I can tell you one of the things I miss is Eddie Wilson and Threadgill's. It's not fancy, it's not meant to be, but as Eddie says "This is not a lobster taco". This isn't fancy food, this is just good food, something you could eat every day, something that doesn't require an engineering degree to assemble and a degree in civil engineering to balance on the plate.

JACK IS BACK!!!
Legacies marks the return of urban mercenary Repairman Jack, who first appeared in F. Paul Wilson's magnificent horror/action novel The Tomb. Got a problem you can't (Or won't...) go to the Police with? For a small fee, Jack could be the solution to all of your problems...

Alicia Clayton has just been hit with a bombshell: The Father she hasn't spoken to since she turned 18 has just died in a plane crash, and she's inherited the family home. Her step-brother, totally cut out of the will, is naturally a little ticked off. But could he possibly be responsible for the "Accidental" death of Alicia's Lawyer? Where is he getting the money for the Million-Dollar offers he's making for the house? Could the house hold a secret worth killing for...? And what went on there that made Alicia swear never to set foot in it again? With a little luck, Jack and Alicia may just get the answers...

Wilson does his usual excellent job, writing a briskly paced page-turner. I really hated to put the book down, and I finished it in record time. Jack is a GREAT hero, and he's got some amazing three-dimensional villains to contend with here. Unlike Jack's previous adventure in The Tomb, Legacies is straight crime-drama, so readers looking for the Horror elements present in The Tomb may be disappointed for a minute...At least until they get [drawn] into the mystery.

What an adventure!
When people in New York City get caught in a place where they can't go to the authorities for help; they turn to Repairman Jack, a man without any real care for law and order; just a good heart, a sense of justice, and a violent streak.
This story contains three different adventures of his, that all work together to bring you through one of the best action adventure books on the market.
Buy it; it'll be wild.
