Wanker presents advantages and problems of growth
I'm proud to say that I read William P. Wanker's book when it first came out, many years ago, and it changed my life. Despite it not becoming the literary classic I had expected it to become, I'm glad to know that Wanker's popularity is again rising amoung young readers, making him, despite his age, an up and coming author. I highly recommend the book to anyone, whether an urban or rural resident, since its importance cannot be understated. Excellent. William P. Wanker, we salute you!

Good background preparation, but needs update !
ACCESS IN LONDON was very good preparation, but needs an update (last published in 1996). There have been alot of changes-and improvements.

Essential reading for the disabled traveller
I use a wheelchair and travel frequently. This series of 3 books (ACCESS IN LONDON and its companion volumes: ACCESS IN PARIS and ACCESS IN ISRAEL) are the most thorough and useful travel guides for a disabled traveller that I have ever seen. If you have a disability and are planning a trip to London, buy this book! I wish the authors would write ACCESS guides to other cities and countries, as well.

Best disability travel book on London
This is a wonderful book for anyone who has mobility problems. I am a librarian at Moss Rehab Hospital in Philadelphia and run a travel hotline for the disabled. I recommend this book often and know of no other source of information that is as comprehensive. Happy traveling!!

A Very Entertaining & Enjoyable Read
I thought Darkworld: Evilness All Around was a really good read. The story flowed along smoothly and each character was very well defined. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoyed a good fantasy type story. Am very interested in what adventures the next 2 installments of the series contains.

It's... OK.
The presentation of this book is excellent; It holds the reader's interest quite well. However, despite a recent "update", it shows it's age when the author regularly goes off on dot-com tangents, bringing the internet up in contexts that I believe the last few years have proven are not viable. Good grief, ppl. This isn't freaking 1997! We need a business text, not the wet dreams of a bunch of computer geeks turned businessmen! Anyways, if you are looking for a text with a lot of depth, look elsewhere. This book is to business textbooks what Quickbooks(c)(R)(TM) is to accounting software. In short, don't waste your money, unless you need it for a class. If so, be happy. If your prof teaches out of this, your tests will be very easy.

Very Good book for small businesses
It is good and it has a lot of tips to be succesfull in your business. It is easy to read and understand and it has many web sites addreses.

Good cases, nice layout but slanted towards SBM positively.
The cases are very good & a nice change of pace from the usual dry textbook reading. The color layout helps direct the reader towards points of interest and it is broken up into sections that are extremely readable. There is a definite slant toward the positive side of Small Business entrepreneuralship-not much is mentioned on the negative aspects.

William Blake : a new kind of man
Published in Unknown Binding by Elek ()
Author: Michael Justin Davis
Amazon base price: $
Used price: $8.50
Average review score:

A good, short bio.
Michael Justin Davis' 1977 biography of William Blake serves as a good, basic introduction to Blake's life and poetry, with brief explications of the major poems interspersed throughout the narrative of Blake's life. Being only 181 pages, though, I felt he needed more discussion of many important topics, sometimes leaving his reader with bare assertions rather than developed argument, and it's sometimes unclear where he was getting his information from. Overall, it's a readable, short, professional biography of Blake, but lacks the personality of Gilchrist's biography or the depth of Bentley's.

This Book(let) is a Major Disappointment
This booklet is a major disappointment, and I am surprised that a professor of civil engineering from UC-Berkely would co-publish this together with a graduate researcher and call it a "book". This is not a book, it is a booklet at best.

I have purchased dozens and dozens of books on project management over the years and this one ranks in the bottom decile.

It is "49 pages" in total length consisting of the following:

Pages 1-3 introduction.
Pages 47-8 references.
Pages 4, 16 and 30 completely blank.
Pages 49 author contact information (consultants); actually the last 5 pages of the book are generically entitled "Upgrade Your Project Management Knowledge with Leading Titles from PMI" and are solely advertisements.

The booklet also contains glaring errors making for confusing and potential misleading conclusions, for example:
Page 24 Table 3-1 the equation is in error,
Page 28 Figure 4-1 the figure is mislabeled,
Page 29 Figure 4-2 part of the diagram is completely missing.

Unfortunately, the trade association (PMI) publisher of this "booklet" continues to struggle with putting out much needed quantifiable case studies demonstrating the value of project management. This booklet is not the way to do it, nor is it the way to develop a project management consulting business.

By the way, PMI sells this booklet for an amazing $...(see back cover of the book). I paid substantially less than that thru "Used" on Amazon.com and still wish I hadn't bothered. PMI should know better.

Save your money, invest it elsewhere. Two books that have some helpful resources for quantifying the value of project management include:

"The Project Management Scorecard", especially chapters 4-16.
"The New Project Management", especially chapers 12-13.

Other project management books I have read and found beneficial:

"Successful IT Project Delivery"
"Visualizing Project Management"
"Project Management Nation"

"Project Management: Best Practices for IT Professionals"
"Idiot's Guide to Project Management"
"Project Management Professional: Study Guide"
