A book as beautiful as its subject!
Gorgeous coffee table book, which is actually great reading, too! Sumptuous photographs will inspire you to add a touch of Safari Chic to your own home! Exquisitely well done book...I hope there will be sequels!....

The color photos are lavish and display many styles
Libraries with strong sections on ethnic or modern architecture will want to include Bibi Jordan's Safari Chic as a unique presentation of over a hundred photos of exotic exteriors and interiors. African bush style goes modern in homes which profile decorating choices achieved through ethnic crafts and fabrics. The color photos are lavish and display many options and styles.

Safari Chic is Chic
Bibi Jordan has managed to capture the true spirit of adventure in her new book Safari Chic. Not only do the wild exteriors and the mannered interiors inspire one to redecorate their physical surroundings but they resonate with the kindling spirit of rejuvenation and imagination. This is a traveler's delight as well. More books Bibi, more!

Educational and Exciting for Kids
The narration and sound effects are fabulous. Keeps little ones interested. Great facts are included however, they will never realize that they are learning.

the illustrations where incredible
The illustrations in this book where fabulous. The details where obviously pain-stakingly done. You can tell David Kiehm puts his heart and soul into his work. I can't wait to see more of his work!

Really cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I am ten years old, I still enjoy this book. It is about a little wolf pup who wants to be the leader of his pack. One day, while chasing a mouse, he gets lost. Even though it was written for tots, I loved it!

Useful Book for Teaching
This is a very evenhanded description of current issues surrounding whaling and I have found it useful in teaching a course on maritime policy issues with undergraduates. It is light on theory but not without a solid foundation and includes useful appendicies. It contains one or two small errors, like mistaking odontoceti for mysteceti.

Grandslam
The editors cover all the bases in this chronological history of pre-Lewis and Clark western exploration. Beginning with Cabeza de Vaca's perilous journey across the southern U.S. in 1528 and culminating with the horrific massacre narrative of John Jewitt's shipmates and his eventual capture by the Nootka Indians off Vancouver Island in 1803, this book is teeming with adventure and excitement of early day exploration. The reader is lured into narrative excerpts from the de Soto and Coronado expeditions, personal accounts of Sir Francis Drake, Pierre Radisson, Father Louis Hennepin, the La Verendryes, Jonathan Carver, David Thompson, Alexander Mackenzie and many more. These men sacrificed countless nerve-racking and frightening hours of survival in the unknown wilderness from Indian hostilities, weather, shortages of food, water, etc. The book not only opens new territories in real life exploration, it also opens endless new worlds of reading possibilities for armchair exploration enthusiasts.

The National Wildlife Federation Guide to Gardening for Wild
Well If you are a avid gardener like me, you would be naturally attracted to the beautiful, coulourful pictures, perfect for coffee table adornment. The only disappoint ment is it does not help you if you live in the Caribbean, it deals mostly with temperate plants, but otherwise a joy to read.

This is by far the most complete field guide of its kind.
Having recently completed a safari in Southern Africa, I had the chance to evaluate many portable field guides on the fauna of the region. I found Smither's ( a smaller version of the encyclopedic tome that is considered the benchmark work on southern African mammals) to be informative, easy to use, and beautifully illustrated. Helpful for both the naturalist as well as the sportsman, there are comparitive scale drawings that are quite accurate. A must for nature-oriented travelers to the region.

Who is this guy?
I picked up this book in a moment of weakness (a winter walk in the woods). Simply magical. A beautiful blend of lore, humour, genus/species derivation, and poetry. I'm in the process of teaching nature to the kids now that they have HTML squared away. This they can read to me in the car. It's that good. Peter, give us more.

Almost Better than the Movie
This is an excellent book about the making of WILD WILD WEST. It even includes the script. The critics were not to kind to this film starring Will Smith and Kevin Kline. However, if you have seen the film and examine this book will begin to appreciate what actually went in to the making of this motion picture. Technically there was a lot more than meets the eye or the eye was aware of in the production of this film. Complex special effects, intricate set designs, costumes, makeup and gadgetry were well thought out to have a look and feel of post Civil War America. This book is brilliantly illustrated with photographs and drawings covering every aspect of the move. If you like films and filmmaking you should enjoy this book.
