I was a little bored by the first few pages... don't let that throw you off if you have found a copy of this book. It has an adult theme - not too bad, I'd say most teenagers will get what's going on, but some people are going to freak out a little - let us say that human rights are NOT one of the antagonist's strong points. The Protagonist is fairly strong but not unbelievable. I found the book to be a pretty good and lively read once I got into it. Once you are about a quarter of the way thru, you might as well give up and read the whole thing, because it really picks up around then. The book deals with slavery and has some heavy overtones in that direction, but not as bad as a Gor book, for instance. I enjoyed the book and think if you're not a real hard science fiction junkie or soft fantasy mavin, this could do the trick. Don't expect any real romance, however. hehe.
