Excellent assessment book!
Clear and concise. Well-written and very readable. A great book for anyone wanting to improve their assessment skills of the well neonate.

An excellent starting point
An excellent summary of well-newborn care provided in outline form for efficient reading. The information is comprehensive, but concise. An excellent starting point for nurses new to the care of newborns. Includes information on how to identify the sick newborn without going into much detail, which makes this book a good preface to AWHONN's Core Curriculum for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing.

This study guide is awesome!!
I just love this guide. I use it every day to start my day at work. It really gets me to meditate on God's wonderful word. It is so great, that I am buying it for a friend.

Kudos!
This book revolutionized my own Bible study time. The Quiet Time Companion uses several different approaches to freshen up personal study times. Weekly sessions may study a single passage, a character, or a word. Other sessions will look at the same passage from several different perspective or will spend two or more weeks on an indepth study of a section of scripture.

This multi-themed approach keeps your Bible study from becoming routine. You will not find a three month study of Leviticus. It cuts down on the theological/philosophic mumbo-jumbo giving straight but not dumbed down look at the Word of God.

Another innovative approach the authors used in creating this devotional aid is that the weekly sessions are composed of 5 lessons, giving you 2 days of individual study (the authors do make some suggestions) but this is an excellent opportunity to work in preparing your Sunday School lesson during the weekend personalized study.

The authors are to be commended! Bravo!

A must for evey Wells Woman!
This must be in the library of every Wells woman! It is a fun and informative history of the school, providing an excellent picture of the shift in women's higher education, from the early days of being little more than a finishing school to the current position of teaching women to be competitive and successful in the world, with a look towards the future. Dieckmann leaves nothing out, from traditions to ghost stories, the founding to the presidents, academics, athletics, and the arts: she provides a thorough history of the college. Plus, the photos are great!!

This book gives a great overall history of Wells College.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The author gives a good idea of what the college's early years were like. History of places I know interests me a lot. After reading this book, I feel that I have a link with the early students of Wells College. Although this book is not currently available through Amazon, I was able to get a copy from the DeWitt Historical Society. I saw this book and said, "I GOTTA HAVE IT!"

Well-written
For a textbook, this book is rather readable. The type is a good size, and it contains a lot of pictures and diagrams. The included CD is also very handy; it contains the full text of the textbook in searchable PDF format (minus some copyrighted photos) plus sample quizzes, videos, weblinks, and sound clips. Each chapter begins with a short "story" that features a character who has a good healthstyle and a character who has a negative healthstyle. The writing is also relatively informal and easy to understand. I learned a lot from the chapters, especially the one on nutrition.

Encouragement for those with breathing problems
"Inspirations : Stories of Breathing Better & Living Well"' by Jane Martin, is must reading for those with breathing problems and recommended for those who are physically going through hard times. It is a excellant blend of encouragement and education. The well put together interviews show how people with major breathing difficulties have taken charge of their lives and are leading active and productive lives. This gives hope. The education sections give understanding. I highly recommend the book.

Fun book, wish it had more recipes and a little more detail
I was pretty well pleased with this book, it has quite a few interesting recipes well worth trying. I've never thought that British cooking (especially what I've had of it)was all that bad, many of these recipes bear that assumption out. I just wish there were more of them because I've seen and heard of dishes not mentioned. I'd also like just a little more detail in the instructions for preparations because I'm not much of a cook.

My Favorite Cookbook
I purchased this book in 1983. I purchased a second, paperback version this year, as my original is well worn (and very well loved). I have used it countless times, cooking my way through most of its recipes. It has never failed me and has provided me with many dishes that are now family classics. It is a true gem--simple to use, charmingly written and fool proof in its results. If you have any interest in British food or British heritage this book is a treasure.

A Secret No More!
I loved British cuisine before I ever had this book. But Jane Gormey uses clear instructions and a generous helping of good humour to make this book a good read even if you never ever use the recipes. That would, however be a mistake. The puddings (desserts) I believe are the best section of the book. The lemon curd is a MUST! Sugggested menus for all occasions, and this book has been invaluable in planning parties and tea. This book doesn't get as much press as "The Two Fat Ladies" and Delia Smith (St. Delia)all of which I own and use frequently, so I guess this book is still a well kept secret that I am more than happy to share.

Horrific and tragically suspenseful
After reading this book, its hard to believe that our Judiciary Courts let the convicts actual get away with murder. Jane Wells has really captured how the Social Services are unable to help people that are on the borderline or are in desperate need of help. After seeing her on the Montel Show, she had sparked my interest in her book. I not only cringed but cried when she and her daughters had to face such unnecessary barriers that were put by the system. I pray and hope to God that she is able to stay undercover from her ex-husband and that the children, especially the oldest can have a peaceful life and never have to suffer the torment and abuse that had been suffered by them all. My prayers are with Jane Wells and family. God Bless....

A brave women
She is a great women, my mom has some trubles with life. It is some times hard for her when she talks about her book. The book is outstandingly great! It is a powerful book, with meny shocking paragraphs that will give you goose bumps.
I have started writing a book, my tittle of the book is A Broken Down Family.

Jane Wells is extremely courageous
Jane Wells is an extremely brave woman. The book is easy to read and brings into focus the hardships that Jane had to face and her courage and bravery for surviving! An exceptional book

Deja-Dino?
Cute, but not as cute as "How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?" In fact, some of the illustrations seem to be repeats from the first book.

Get Well, Dinosaur.....
"What if a dinosaur/catches the flu?/Does he whimper and whine/in between each Atchoo?" So begins award winning author and illustrator, Jane Yolen and Mark Teague's playful and entertaining picture book about how to handle all the misery of the cold and flu season. Does that dinosaur throw dirty tissues on the floor, toss off his covers, and fling his medicine out the door? Does he dump his juice, hide from the doctor, scream and wail, and make a big stink? No of course not. He stays in bed, takes his medicine, cooperates at the doctor's office, and works at getting well soon. "He drinks lots of juice,/and he gets lots of rest./He's good at the doctor's/'cause doctors know best." Ms Yolen's silly, rhyming text is a bit forced, and not quite as wonderful as in their first collaboration, How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night. But Mr Teague's expressive, bold, bright and exuberant artwork is engaging, and filled with humor and wit. Young dinosaur lovers will revel in all the fun-filled, captivating illustrations. How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon? is a preschool crowd pleaser, that is sure to put a smile on every little runny-nosed face.

The perfect Read Aloud!
I have given Jane Yolen's first HOW DO DINOSAURS book as a gift to dozens of children and not one has been disappointed. I was thrilled to find the second one just as charming and fun as the first. It is the perfect read aloud for any child--sick or not. And parents will be happy to have such a wonderful book to add to the "One More Time" pile.

I am always amazed at how versitile Jane Yolen is. When my own little dinosaur finally drifts off to sleep, I can enjoy reading another chapter of her new novel GIRL IN A CAGE.

My only complaint is that my daughter may be too old when the next one comes out! Hurry Jane, hurry!

warm wise and friendly gets you where you want to go
if you know you have to change the way you eat to feel at your peak for the second half of life, look no further, this book takes you along this new path with a sense of adventure and practicality. the author understands the conflicts of time crunch with the desire to take care of ourselves . Her years as a caterer bring both elegance and ease to every aspect of shopping preparing and cooking she shares her tips and techniques that make cooking fit into our lives and she encourages eating and entertaining as a social connection with family and friends that is an absolute boon. Itkeeps me from buying into the idea that there is no reason not to survive on take out and prepared foods, she is interested in food as a way of flourishing. That really appeals to me.

Unusual, delicious call for freedom from the clock
Jane Wilson of New York's "The Party Box" caterers offers and unusual and entertaining treatise on the problem of enjoying food when you've reached the age when you "just can't eat the way you used to."

Wilson says older midlifers (over 50) should take full advantage of their unique ability to free themselves from living (and eating) by the clock. She recommends eating smaller meals more often and offers a 2 breakfast plan for seniors: "begin the day with light exercise, break for fruit, at mid-morning eat a small breakfast."

The book contains 250 recipes especially adapted for the special needs of middle age. From Lemon-Zest Cauliflower Soup and Ruby Red Cranberry Borscht to Raspberry Aspic with Chopped Fresh Limes and Date Apricot Squares, recipes stress enjoying a low-fat and high-fiber diet in easy and delicious meals.

There's a weekly supermarket guide as well as tips for streamlined preparation and entertaining. The idea is to switch to lighter foods and enjoy more of them.

This book's unusual and delicious recipes from a number of cultures world-wide provide some rare and yummy culinary treats.

Jane Austen Light
This book is easy, fun, and entertaining. If you just looked at the sample pages provided by Amazon, you'd think it is nothing but a collection of quotations of people's opinions of Jane Austen. Well, there are a lot of opinionated quotations, from people you've heard of and people you haven't heard of. There are also Q&A interviews with knowledgable JA fans and actors who've played JA roles. There are quizzes.

Most of the pieces are short, so it's a good book for readers with limited attention spans. The book also has a magazinelike format: the pages are bordered, and there are insets and decorative separators between chunks of text.

I was delighted to learn that two columnists I admire, Miss Manners (Judith Martin) and Edith Lank, who writes about real estate and appears in our local house-and-garden section every Sunday, are big fans. That explains why I like them.

There's quite a lot of information in this book in spite of its "light" look, and it's entertaining, but if you prefer sustained discussion and development, you'll want to choose another book.

A fun and educational read
This book has given me a greater appreciation for Jane Austen and her novels. It is a fun and educational read. I especially love the quizzes. I highly recommend this book to all Jane Austen fans.

entertaining and educational!
I am a newcomer to the joys of Jane Austen (kind of embarrassing because of my age)and I read this after having read Ms. Austen's 6 completed and most widely read novels. I really enjoyed reading this book,it has a little biographical info, trivia and insight into the stories themselves. Although I didn't agree with everything the author expressed, I would turn a page and learn something about something else. And of course, as I was reading it, I kept saying to myself, oh, I need to go back and reread this book and see what this author is talking about. How cannot you not recommend a book that inspires you to reread all of Jane Austen's books! This book could also be useful in a classroom of high school students, what a fun way to introduce Jane Austen to students who think she is boring or hard to read.
