Tangerine Orange. Shocking Pink. Azure Blue. These are just a few of the colors offered in Color Healing Home. For those of you who love modern interior design but would like something other than beige and variations on white, then this is THE book for you. The book is divided by color and each color is showcased in beautiful modern rooms. Worth its weight in gold!! A+++++++++

Beautiful and Inspiring
I really like this book. The photos are beautiful. The author discusses what effect different colors have on your mood, i.e. paint your bedroom deep blue for restful sleep, red can cause exhaustion if it's not used sparingly, magenta-pink encourages introspection, etc. This book gives you lots of interesting ideas for adding color to your home, beyond just slapping paint on a wall.

a fun book
This is one of my all-time favorite books ... and I have a HUGE collection of books on color and decorating. Whenever I look through these pages, I want to do my rooms in every color I see, loving each page more than the next. If you ask me which was my favorite color, I will say, "All of them!" But then, my passion for color is the reason I bought this book in the first place. As soon as I opened it, I had to have it.

The book is broken down according to the colors of the spectrum and the color therapy use of each color (i.e., there are sections for "energizing," "uplifting," "balancing," "refreshing," "calming," "meditative," "romantic," and "grounded"). Each individual color has two or three photos. But this book doesn't just separate the colors as simply as red, orange, yellow, etc. It elaborates by breaking each color down into numerous shades and tones of that color. For the violet part of the spectrum alone -- which is classified as "meditative" in terms of color therapy purposes -- there are pages for the shades "very violet," "deep purple," "mood indigo," "fresh lavender," "lilac time," and "purple haze." Each has several photos.

Throughout the book, there are pages (and photos) for such luscious colors as "sunflower," "aquamarine," "fruit pastels," "sugar candy" ... and there are natural/neutral colors represented as well.

Just looking through this book cheers me up and inspires me. It is intelligently written as well. I highly recommend Color Healing Home to anyone who would like to bring more color and joy into their life.

Restoring your spiritual inheritance through intercession!
Everyone agrees that we are living in perilous times today. Natural disasters, accidents, global shifts-these are evidences of coming judgment upon a sinful humanity in a groaning earth. But is there anything Christians can do to turn the tide? Lou Engle emphatically declares, "Yes!" We can dig the revival wells of our spiritual forefathers and mothers, renew covenant with God, and release the gushers of revival again on our cities and nations!

In his book, Digging the Wells of Revival, the author focuses on the heart of a covenant-keeping God that remembers the blood, sweat, and tears sown by such past believers as Jonathan Edwards, Aimee Semple McPherson, William Seymour, and many others. As their spiritual descendants, we must seek God for the spiritual heritage left to us. In this way we can bring revival back to our land, reap a great harvest, and avert judgment!

How we are supposed to live?
The book is the best - and most realistic - view of what is supposed to become of Mother Earth, if we follow the same line in the way of living. The story is about survivers of Mother's anger... Can WE survive it? Not likely...

A Flora of Sonoma County

Amazon base price: $37.50

A "must" for California gardeners and horticulturalists.
Catherine Best, et.al.'s Flora Of Sonoma County deserves ongoing mention for any who live in Sonoma County, California: it charts the rich flora of the region: some 136 plant families and over six hundred genera - and is especially recommended for any serious plant enthusiast with more than just a general interest. Lacking the glossy photos of lay references, this includes the technical details plant managers will find important.

Great Sci Fi
This is a well written story. Though you know the bad guy from the begining, it does not take away from story. You watch the young woman mature from a carefree, everything is okay person to an adult who takes responsibility. I truly enjoyed the ending. She takes her revenge in a positive manner and ends up with the best of both worlds.

Stellar fashion advice for Big Gals, too much schmaltz
'Well Rounded' makes a good-hearted attempt to boost large women's self-esteem and fashion sense. I love the dressing advice -- finding a uniform and sticking with it has saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of frustrations.

What I find annoying are the lame bits about self-esteem and accepting yourself. It's become a rote line in the emerging field of plus-sized books. Don't get me wrong -- I believe we need all the encouragement and support we can get -- but it seemed cookie-cuttered. It didn't seem very personal.

If you're look for fat-positive stories of success, stick to 'Wake up!, I'm Fat' by Camryn Manheim. She actually explores her relationships, emotions and motivations more. But if you'd like some light-hearted fashion advice and some well-meant plattitude, then this is a good book to pick up. It has earned a permanent place in my library, but mostly for the practical fashion advice.

A practical guide for feeling good and being "plus-sized"
This is a wonderful book filled with great ideas on boosting your self esteem if you are a well rounded woman. I found the tool box sections to be really useful and the fashion advice to be right on the money. A good read filled with hard earned wisdom and practical advice on everything from what to wear to new ways of perceiving yourself.

Beauty from the inside first!
Being a model, Catherine Lippencott shares rich insight about the fashion industry. She strives to shatter the intimidating, mythical "beauty standards" that Madison Avenue has helped to create. I appreciate that Lippencott encourages readers to accept their bodies. The body image exercises are very good.

While raising one's self-esteem may be more complex for many than what is implied in Lippencott's eight steps, a well-rounded woman may well be on her way. Sometimes a person just needs a few tools (postivie affirmations, body image exercises) to reach a level of new-found confidence. I have also benefited from the relaxation exercises.

Lippencott encourages readers to look within first before taking drastic external measures to boost self-esteem. Although she talks about clothing/fashion later, it's the first part of the book that holds the most importance.

A wonderful addition to the ER4YT program...
This book is an excellent companion to the original "Eat Right 4 Your Type" book by D'Adamo (see my review on that book here on Amazon.) It contains a review of some of the material from the original book, and then branches out to include a ton of recipes. Each recipe specifies whether it is beneficial, neutral, or to be avoided by each blood type, making it easy to plan meals for one or more types.

The book has a whole range of recipes, from breads to main dishes, sauces to desserts, salads to beverages. There are 30 day menu plans for each blood type, with suggested meals and snacks. There's even a list in the back of mail order sources for various foods some people may have trouble finding in their areas.

All in all this book is a great adjunct to the previous book, and well worth buying for those who follow this health plan. If you're using the first book, don't hesitate to buy this book!

Applaud!
I applaud Dr. Peter J.D'Adamo for carrying on his fathers work (your father would be proud) I have searched for so long to understand some of the physiological responses I often experience with the foods I eat. Dr. D' Adamo puts it all into perspective. What is so very ironic to me is that, the foods suggested for my blood type A are all foods I absolutley crave and love. I suggest you go to his website and buy some of the products he has. I plan on purchasing an item he suggested for people still experienceing sugar cravings. This book has been a blessing, can't wait to buy the cookbook.

Excellent Cookbook
A great companian book to Eat Right For Your Type. I've only had the book a few days, but the recipes tried have been very good and the book is well organized and helpful in planning blood type specific meals, which is the point. To understand the theory, as well as to find the references in the scientific literature that support the theory, read Eat Right for Your Type.

Troubling afterthought.
When I found this book in my local bookstore I was delighted. Islam in space, intriguing indeed. Now the story is not exactly brimming with technology, which actually makes this a believable story in many ways. The humans of Dray's World are Nouveau Moslems of a variety that see men and women as equals in every way. The women are strong and independent and I think that's the best with this story.

However. I read this book with an initial joy that slowly turned into disappointment. The Islam portrayed in the story is an Islam interested in the pursuit of knowledge, tolerance and equality. The fact that the leaders of this culture has lied to their own people is not what bothers me, leaders always seem to have something to keep away from the prying eyes of their subjects. What bothers me is that an equal and tolerant society still practice execution of dissidents. If anyone questions the religion they can be killed by people throwing stones at them. That seems odd to me. I am not naive enough not to realize that this is the prerogative of the writer to create the society of her choosing. But to brush past this fact that unbelievers and dissidents are not part of the tolerance of the Innantan society seems disturbing to me. Whenever a religious order create a closed society to practice their beliefs anyone who follows them into seclusion are accepting the rules of the group. Their children are the ones who rebel. I read somewhere that the Puritans of New England were disturbed by the fact that so few of those born in New England measured up to the standards of the Puritan faith. Where are the dissidents of Innanta?

The second problem I have with this book is that in a society that favors sexual freedom in the way that Marta practice also executes homosexuals. I think that a culture that has an easy attitude towards womens sexual rights usually also are easy on homosexuality as well.

The subplot makes the book...
I really thought the subplot made the book. It gives a great view of how religion and myth combine and change the way history is viewed. It took me awhile to get into the story but then I was hooked...I even took it to work to finish it.

Most Enjoyable - waiting for Catherine's next title
I've read all of Catherine's books and have enjoyed all of them!

Catherine's Wish
Joy Reed launches a new trilogy with this Regency-set tale. It is said that if a woman looks into the well at Honeywell House before dawn on Midsummer, she will see the face of her future husband. When Catherine Summerfield looks into the well, all she wants is a glimpse of her future. Instead she sees the face of her best friend's fiancé Jonathan, Lord Meredith. And while both feel guilty for their betrayal of Catherine's friend Laura from their first meeting they have been irresistibly drawn to each other. But Jonathan feels obligated to Laura, and Catherine feels that her past makes her not good enough. A leisurely tale with a charming village setting, though characters are not always shown in the best light.
