Great for sales students young and old.
I used this book whilst studying my Diploma in Sales and Marketing and found it invaluable. It goes through the fundamental steps of selling and gives you great examples of companies different approaches to the selling environment. A must for all sales people who want to learn the basics of selling or those who want to brush up on their skills.

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT IT IS A WONDERFUL BOOK.
A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS A PROFESSOR IN ZIMBABWE (UNIVERSITY OF ZIMBABWE) WOULD LIKR TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE A TEACHERS RESOURCE BOOK, OR ANY SUPPLEMENTS TO THIS BOOK (SELLING - BUILDING PATNERSHIP)

Poor
Those parts of the book that deal with Schacht himself are OK. Those parts dealing with the bigger picture are poorly written and contain errors.

A fair portrait of the man, but shaky on the facts
Afraid to say that Weitz's book is littered with errors as regards basic facts of the Nazi era and the inter-war period in general. This won't matter to those who have a good knowledge of the times, but students fresh to the subject should beware. The heavy reliance on US news reports of the time suggests a certain thinness of research. Even so, the picture of Schacht that emerges is reasonably well-balanced and so the book is worth a try.

Many Shades of Weitz
As a biographical note:

John Weitz the author of this book, is the same John Weitz that was a popular US clothing desinger in the second half of the 20th century. He was also an intelligence agent for the OSS, the forerunner of the CIA during and immediately after WWII. Ian Fleming mentioned Weitz as the prototype of his character, James Bond.

Weitz is also the father of Paul and Chris Weitz, the directors of "American Pie", and "About A Boy", and admirably not "American Pie II".

How to emphatize with a Nazi
One of the most difficult tasks for any decent writer trying to write a biograpy of a prominent Nazi leader is to beable to garner sufficient emphaty with his/her subject, to enable us get a deeper understanding of the person in question's inner life, deeper motivations etc. John Weitz does not seem to have set such a task for himself in this biography; he is content to remain within the bounds of a civilized horror at the Nazi phenomenon. Nevertheless, his thorough scholarship, enables us to get a glimpse of the psyche of Ribbentrop as in the quote ot the effect that killing Hitler would have been like killing his (Ribbentrops's) father. It is a pity. It is well known that Nazism was sufffused with a fascination with power and leader. Ribbentrop during his career was caught under the spelll of not one but two such charismatic tyrants, Hitler but also Stalin. Despite the merits of the book, I thnik we stilll need a more psychologically-minded and nuanced biography of Hitler's Diplomat.
