Chinese Numerology: The Way to Prosperity & Fulfillment
Chinese Numerology: The Way to Prosperity & Fulfillment is Richard Webster's latest book, and it's a fascinating guide to the arcane world of numerology.

Webster explains how, nearly 4,000 years ago, Wu of Hsia discovered a special tortoise shell. The markings on the back of the shell formed a magic three-by-three square. Named the Lo Shu grid, the square was regarded as magic "because every horizontal, vertical, and diagonal row added up to fifteen," a number of great significance in ancient China.

Chinese numerology, as well as I Ching, feng shui, and other Chinese divination techniques, evolved from the Lo Shu grid.

Three systems of Chinese numerology are currently in use, and Webster presents complete directions on how to use each of them. He starts with the Western version of Chinese numerology, which is the easiest to learn. He explains how to calculate your life path number, and the significance of each number. For example, "people with a life path number of 6 are nurturing, caring, and responsible," while 22's "are able to achieve anything they set their minds on."

He then shows how to calculate individual strengths and weaknesses, using personal Lo Shu grids. He presents grids of celebrities as examples. Edgar Cayce, Beethoven, and Mozart all had grids indicating growth in knowledge and wisdom through great personal losses.

Webster explains that "we live our lives in nine-year cycles. Each year contains a different energy, and if we work with the energy, or tone, of the year we will progress smoothly and quickly. Conversely, if we fight the tone of the year, we will struggle all year long." He then presents a simple way to determine which year you are in and gives examples of what kinds of activities are good for each year of the cycle.

Traditional Chinese numerology uses the Lo Shu grid, but the numbers are determined using the lunar calendar rather than the Western solar calendar. Not to worry--Webster includes an extensive solar-lunar conversion chart in the appendix.

The Ki, or Nine House Divination, is more complex. It "starts with the same magic square, but the numbers change position every year creating nine different combinations." In addition, the numbers are associated with the basic elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Each number also has its own color.

Whether you are simply interested in learning what numerology is all about, or wish to use it for character analysis or planning your future, you'll find Chinese Numerology informative and helpful.

I'm not even halfway through the book yet...
But I give it five stars anyway. Just when I thought that I'd learned all there was to learn about numerology, and just when I thought that I'd heard of every possible way to use numbers to diagram lives, along comes this book. It has many "innovative" methods to tell lots about different personality types using personal info such as date of birth, name, etc. It also gives compatability information along with number and personality signs. There are methods of numerology in this book that most practicing "numerologists" probably don't even know about--it's that diverse, interesting, and innovative. Though I'm interested in these things, I'm a die-hard skeptic. I was a non-believer until I did a few diagrams for myself, and then for people that I know. The nail was hit dead on the head each time. Move over, Western astrology, and make room for Chinese numerology!

Chinese Numerology : The Way to Prosperity & Fulfillment.
Best Book Written On This Subject!

I have read many books on numerology, but he describes in full detail the solar/lunar conversion that I have never heard about before that is very accurate. It is very insightful into other realms I didn't think possible to understand. He has done a great job explaining exactly how to interpret what these numbers mean also.

Jenny is the Real Deal
Jenny Crawford, from New Zealand, radiates kindness and is a world-class clairvoyant medium, in the same league as James Van Praagh and John Edward. She's a close personal friend of mine, and I'm happy to report she conducts her personal life with the same love she exhibits on stage and in her professional readings. Her new book, Spirit of Love, details some of her experiences as a medium. The stories are rich, heart touching, and very healing. This lovely book will provide answers for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, or just curious what it is like to be a medium. Jenny is "the real deal," and I fully endorse her work.

Understanding by the heart
I could not leave this book alone until it was finished. I wanted information on what it is like to be a medium and to help myself on my spiritual quest. This book did both. I highly recommend it.

I COULDN'T PUT YOUR BOOK DOWN
This is the best book I've ever read on life after-death. I enjoyed reading Jenny Crawford's first book - THROUGH THE EYES OF SPIRIT - but found her new book SPIRIT OF LOVE filled with even more valuable information. Best selling author Richard Webster has written the forward for this book, and I have enjoyed reading many of his books.

Jenny's book left me filled with love and a positive outlook on life. I find her work very healing.

Excellent Palmistry Source
I have an entire library of palmistry references and this is by far one of the best. I use it often and have learned a great deal from it. Highly recommended!

The Title Says It All
A comprehensive overview of this most fascinating and personal method of giving a reading. Richard has boiled down the rather complicated art of palmistry into easy-to-grasp principles and concepts. Also contains a very rare description of Indian Thumb Reading, which is a form of hand analysis I've found to be amazingly accurate. If you learn everything in this book you'll be better than 90% of the palm readers out there!

2 palms up!
A very helpful book. It's uses easy to read diagrams and figures, and very straitforward words. It's very easy to remember. I love it!

Authoritative dictionary of today's media
With so many specialized dictionaries abounding, it's a pleasure to report that Weiner's is truly useful for today's communicator. As an advertising/public relations practitioner with a deep interest in the graphic arts, I actually enjoyed finding so many technical terms accurately and often wittily defined. If you're looking for a minibrute to do your bidding, need an Oxberry unit, a Goudy other than Curt, or need a few minutes with a goyu, you're in luck here. You'll even find a goon stand or two, plus a much needed puncheon. All in all, a very valuable and solid book. It is now on my desk permanently, along with Skeat's Etymological Dictionary (1910) and the American Heritage Dictionary (1992). I've been using it daily for the past three months. Highly recommended.

More than a dictionary; no one should be without this book.
"Webster's New World Dictionary of Media and Communications" By Richard Weiner, Macmillan Publishing ISBN 0-02-860611-6 The glossaries that are on web sites usually are too skimpy, in number and length of the definitions. That's why most of us still use dictionaries and other reference books. One of the most useful specialized dictionaries is Webster's New World Dictionary of Media and Communications, recently published by Macmillan. The 678-page paperback is the most comprehensive collection ever published of technical and slang terms in 28 fields, including advertising, computer, film, journalism, marketing, printing, public relations, radio, telecommunications, television and theater. Written by Richard Weiner, a renowned public relations counselor, the book combines easy-to-read definitions with useful information for students and experts. The 35,000 "base entries" and related terms are more than in any advertising, film, literacy, television or theater dictionary. Several hundred definitions are not in any other dictionary. Another unique feature is the global orientation, with hundreds of British, Canadian, French, German and Japanese words used by film buffs and business people. Listings include abbreviations, acronyms, associations, awards, biographical dates and several hundred major companies in the media and communications fields, including headquarters cities. Current jargon, nicknames and slang are supplemented with historical information, particularly 19th century printing and publishing terms that are still used. Pithy comments call attention to words that are commonly used incorrectly, misspelled or mispronounced. The book will be useful to the many millions of people who are employed in the broadcasting, postal, promotion, telephone and other communications fields, as well as to freelancers, students, writers and computer users, and the many people who are media buffs.

This book can get you a job in media and communications.
At a job interview, or on the job,it really helps to speak to kmow the lingo of the field. This book has thousands of definitions of technical and slang words used by reporters, broadcasters, printers, advertisers, theatrical and many other media and communications fields, plus helpful hints. It is only $27.95, and Amazon's price is even less! I'm really excited about this investment, and it's easy to read and enjoy.

A Page Turner and LIFE TRANSFORMER
I purchased this book to help pass the time on a flight from Chicago to Paris. I loved this book and was fully engaged in the authors story from the first page and found the advice easy and helpful. I will be purchasing several copies to be given to the people I love as Christmas gifts this year as it is a LIFE CHANGER!!

Gives one hope and progress through bad times.
I read the entire book in one sitting and was amazed at the powerful content in such a "thin" book. The Seven Steps are steps that make sense because they are, in a way, sensible and simple truths about life. The story format of the book helps to enhance not only the philosophy of the book, but also the day-to-day applications one could see if they were to embrace its' ideas. It's reminiscient of the book "Yes or No", and carries the same life-changing kick. Simple, straightforward, and challenging. That's what makes this work a strong self-help volume. I plan to read it again tonight, and then once a week for a while. Try it, you'll like it.

A Mistake?
I just received this book and had the intention of quickly glancing at it.

That was a mistake.

I got SO caught up in this story, that I literally breezed through it in one short sitting. I couldn't put it down.

I'm a fan of Richard Webster, and wondered if he could match his other book, Seven Secrets. Well he has. Webster has created a very engaging motivational story. Like it or not, by the time you put it down you'll have a positive outlook on things.

Success Secrets is a wonderful book!

Excellent
I thought it would be really contrived, since it is obviously a motivational book, but I found myself reading it in one sitting, and really felt the message as I read it. Of course it is esy to figure out the origin of the letters, but on the whole even if you are not into New Age material, you will still find something to perk you up in this book.

ANGELES GUARDIANES Y GUIAS ESPIRITUALES

Hawthorne--American Impressionist, Watercolor Master
This thorough collection of Charles Webster Hawthorne's paintings demonstrates his accomplishments in figure, portrait, and landscape painting. Drawing early inspiration from 17th century Dutch genre painting, then from his studies of Manet and the early impressionists, he achieved a stunning freedom of technique and sponaneity in his watercolor landscapes. Painter and teacher, Hawthorne maintains the tension between abstracton and realism, evidenced in the wonderful color photographs in this book. His art and teachings influenced many American 20th century painters, including the abstract expressionists. His teachings about artistic vision and method are presented in his notes on painting, included in this volume. (They are also published separately in "Hawthorne on Painting.") Most readers will benefit from their inclusion here as they offer an opportunity to judge his words and aesthetic principles against his paintings, rather than in a vacuum. In addition to illuminating essays by Richard Muhlberger, formerly of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Janet Flint, the text lists more than 50 museums that have Hawthorne's work in their collections. As many are small regional museums, this is a most valuable guide for further research, travel, and enjoyment of this unique master's work.

Good introduction
I can't help feeling that this book was written in a hurry. Whilst I enjoyed reading it, I thought that the illustrations (of which there were many) were poor and quite artificial. Some of the areas of palm reading were beiefly glimpsed over. It seems very disjointed and the layout of each of the marks and areas of the hand could look more classified. While most of it is in here, there must be better than this.

A good palm reading book is ideal
Unlike tarot, palms are hard to lose, for you have to literally be mutilated for this divination not to work. Unfortunately, palms are much harder to read than tarot cards, for the sheer number of lines and wrinkles in a person's hand. This book therefore, is a valuable ally in one's search for the truth.

great stuff
Wanting to learn reading techniques I bought and studied Richards book. I began by highlighting things that I thought were very important so later I could make a personal set of notes to study from. After going through the book once and looking back I noticed that about 95% of the book was highlighted. You will use everything in this book. No fluff. The illustrations are helpful and the decriptions are insightful.
