A Life Saver
I was given a copy of this book after attending a 20+ week parenting program that was designed and overseen by Dr. Webster-Stratton. The advice in the book is taken directly from program. At the time, my son was a very challenging, out-of-control six years old.

The information contained in the book proved to be invaluable in turning around my son's behavior and also in building positive interaction between us.

I highly recommend this book.

Simple, useful and professional advice for parents
As a psychologist currently in training at a Family Therapy agency, I have found this book invaluable for its clarity and accessibility. Its presentation is simple and pleasing (there are fun illustrations too!) but never simplistic. In addition, I know that everything the author recommends and explains has been scientifically and rigorously tested over many years on large groups of children. The book is divided into 3 parts you can dip into separately. Both the index and the table of contents are excellent, so you can easily and quickly consult it as needed. Its first part explains effective and efficient parenting techniques and their rationales. The second part focuses on how parents can deal with some of their own troubling feelings and behaviors related to parenting issues. The third part outlines coping techniques for 13 common behavior problems. The advice is thus easy to retrieve, and the author does a good job avoiding jargon and sticking to everyday language. In sum, an instructive and fun book that has been eminently useful for the parents I have worked with.

David Webster portrayed in HBO's "Band of Brothers"
Rent the series to learn about this author's experience in WWII. He died in 1961 after venturing out into the ocean, never to be seen again.

Myth and Maneater
I have just finished reading this book and think it is a great source of information. It is a great source for shark attacks and sharks themselves. It is a very good book especially for people living in California, it obtains lots of information on our local species of sharks. Great Book!!!

If you are suffering with ulcerative colitis...
After 13 years of pain, doctors, drugs, and two operations, I have cured my husband in one month by following this book. I picked up this book at the local health food market. Please note: I did NOT have to take the step of actually using the acidophilus implant. However, I did apply almost everything else David Webster writes about...juicing, whey, cutting back on red meat and alcohol, Kyo-Dophilus, Kyo-Greens, etc.

As a side note to all of this, the juicing every day had other dramatic results as well. My two older boys both suffered from acne. After ONE WEEK, their skin had cleared up. (recipe: 5 carrots, 2 celery, 1/2 apple, 1/4 of a beet, a little parsley. Organic vegetables only)

If David Webster is reading this, please contact me as I am in the media and I want to shout it from the rooftops that your book cured my husband.

"Crossroad Puzzlers" Highway According To Webster
An awesome pictorial study of Highway/Roadway/Street Sign curiousities and oddities, this book is fun for all ages. David Webster's fascinating photos, ranging from a "No Parking" sign in the middle of a lake, to a decommisioned roadway with weeds growing up and leading nowhere, are as fun as the questions posed. I remember this book from Grade School and it remains a great conversation piece/Coffee Table book to this day.

This text is being used for a course with Web resources.
I have chosen this book as one of the texts for an introductory course in archaeology that has a World Wide Web component. If you would like to see how the text is being used, the URL is http://www.cc.ukans.edu/~hoopes/anth110.html. Auditors are welcome. One of the nice aspects of this text is that is was prepared in conjunction with an eight-part television/video series that is available for classroom use.

How Dina Ruined My Life
Well, there it was. My life was ruined, and all thanks to a saucy chick from Queens, Dina "Hotpants" O'Donnell. I breathed a sigh of depair as she walked out of my life forever, my little red wagon trailing behind her, in it, our former love. She was leaving me for Adam Ring, a hot-headed Irish teamster who loved pastry. Before I met Dina, or "Goofy Shoes" as I affectionately called her, I was doing just fine. I was a millionaire, and a world-class socialite, living in the splendor of sophistication and class of New York's elite intelligensia. Then she busted into my life, like a raging dinosaur. SHe coulnd't understand a word I said, so I supposed she never formally approved of the pet name I had for her: "Little Omar." It took me seven years to discover that she was deaf, for I am a moron. It took Adam less time. But she never knew how much I admired her, and loved that special light she shined with, above all others I have known. Her facility with jet-pack building never ceased to astound me.

In conclusion, it's a fantastic read, and a jolly good think-piece. I know it will change your life, as it changed mine.

A WARM, FUZZY REMINDER OF MOTHER LOVE
Few children's stories are more affecting than those concerning mother and child. Add to that scenario an adorable baby duck, and you have a sure winner. Such is the case with Martin Waddell's latest.

When tiny Webster J. Duck became restless he tapped on his eggshell with his beak. Crack went the shell and Webster got his first glimpse of a very large world. But Webster was puzzled because he didn't see his mother, and he thought that all baby ducks had a mother. He quacked and quacked, but she didn't come so he set off to find her.

In his search he found friends with wiggly tails, and wool for coats. Webster was sure none of them were his mother. Of course, the story has a happy ending, and is reassuring to young ears. It's a warm, fuzzy reminder that mother's love them and are nearby.
