Here's a poetry book nobody can do without!
This is a wonderful poetry book with excellent poems and cartoons of a family of nineteen foxes. I bought a copy of Catch me and Kiss me and Say it Again when my son was a baby. Later I found a copy of Father Fox's pennyrhymes at the library at Virginia Tech. I knew I needed a copy of my own, so I bought one in paperback. I am heartbroken that it is out of print, because I want to buy copies for grandchildren one day. Re-print it please!

The most wonderful book for a child!
My nephew Robert, loved this book as a child. His mother kept checking it out of the library for him. My kids now have a copy of it, which I still read aloud sometimes even though my youngest baby is now nine-and-a-half. I think I may have bought a few copies as gifts for babies last time it was in print. I'd buy another million today, as well as some copies for grandchildren someday. Please encourage the publisher to make more.

This is the best poetry book in the world
Along with Catch me and Kiss me, my whole family has treasured this book. I have a copy in paperback which I have read to all the children in my family. It includes favorites like Bimbo Bombo, and Huckleberry Gooseberry. There is no reason for it to go out of print forever. Please bring it back.

I think this book is great. It helped me understand binary. I love dez nutz

Great Book!
I discovered this book quite by accident while I was a teaching intern. It knocked me, a middle-aged math-phobe, right off my feet, as suddenly I could understand not only binary numbers, but their relationship to electronic technology. Watson presents the information slowly and sequentially, from lengths of string to Cuisenaire rods, with exercises that manifest the principles as you go along, 'til--lo and behold!--you're writing messages in binary code. While this book is intended for an elementary audience, the only real way you can tell that is from the illustrator's style. The language of the book is simple, direct, and useful at any level. I hope some smart publisher picks this book up and reissues it--it's great.

A christmas tradition
This is not only one of my favorite christmas stories of all time, but it was also a christmas tradition through all of my childhood. Each year on christmas eve my parents would hold me up to the trap-door for the attic as I listened to "brown mouse" scampering around above me. I have never forgotten this story, it remains my favorite to this day... wonderfully descriptive, sweet and playful, a must have for any child's collection. If you can find a copy snatch it up!

The Perfect Christmas Eve Story
This is the dearest Christmas book I've ever read. The first time I read it to my daughters, ages 4 and 7, we had to read it again right then and there, because it was so wonderful. I even phoned my ex-husband, their father, to share it with him!

The story is set on Christmas Eve in a large house filled with a human family and a family of mice, including small Brown Mouse who is so young he's never been in the people part of the house. The mice venture downstairs after midnight for "a long night of feasting and merrymaking" and return to their attic home at nearly dawn. The excitment, the sights, and the adventures they encounter make Brown Mouse's very first Christmas one he'll never forget.

The writing is marvelous. You can see, taste, and smell everything the author writes about. I think the story has so much more feeling to it than "... and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...". For instance, the description of the Christmas tree begins like this:

'A tall, tall tree all spicy and green hung with hundreds of twinkling, glittering things of all sorts...' and ends with 'and silvery light trembling on every branch, casting crisscross shadows on the ceiling . . .'

I think this is a delightful book, and I am so glad that it is still in print! I am even getting a copy for my mother, whose absolute favorite holiday is Christmas.

About 28 pages; darling pictures on every other page to hold your littlest one's attention.

OUR FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK
Twenty-some-odd years ago, when I was a new mother, I found this little gem and bought half a dozen copies. Over the years they were given to friends with new babies, and our own copy became the #1 bedtime favorite out of the hundreds of children's books on our shelves. To this day my daughter and I can recite the words from memory ... the text has a wonderful rhythm to it, the story is magical, the illustrations colorful and captivating. I came here to purchase more, for more friends with new babies, and was so disappointed to find it's out of print!

AMAZING
This is my favorite book of all time. I have two copies, one for home and one for the dorm. Even though I am 21 years old I still read this book once a month or so.

Phonics reinforced in this alphabet book
"Applebet an ABC" not only presents the letters of the alphabet in an interesting story it also connects with letter sounds. The story line keeps interest with an apple and farm theme, but goes beyond the alphabet to include "hard" and "soft" C & G, and CH and SH and TH. This book is a must for teachers and parents aiming to help children make the connection between the alphanet and phonics.

Invaluable for anyone who has a piano
Clyde and Wendy Watson have done it again! This time they have taken jingles from Father Fox's Pennyrhymes and Catch Me & Kiss Me & Say it again and set them to music for pianos and guitars. Clyde was a musician for a while, so that's one reason why she set her poetry to music. These songs like the poems go well with the beautiful illustrations by Wendy. Father Fox's Pennyrhymes and Catch Me and Kiss Me and Say it again were my son Robert's favorite books to buy for people who were having babies. We are shocked that both those books, umlike the songbook, are out of print. We hope that the publishing company will start making and selling them again!

This Book Gets better every time I read it.
This is the twelvth book that Clyde and Wendy Watson have collaborated. I love it, but I didn't think it was as good as Father Fox's Pennyrhymes or Catch Me & Kiss Me & Say it Again, both of which unlike this book are out of print. I thought the poem about Jack and Jenny was funny though. Please ask the publisher to reprint the authors first two books.--Robert Metz

Excellent children's book
Catch Me Kiss Me is a book I would choose to give as a baby gift time and again. The poetry really gets a baby's attention, and makes the child interested in talking. The interaction between the brother and sister is sweet and a good example of sibling love. I think toddlers will model this behavior, especially after hearing it so much. There is a lot of fun family interaction and the watercolor drawings are soft and delightful.

Great Book, Why is it not being published.
When I was about two or three, a friend gave us our original copy of "Catch Me and Kiss Me," We read it so many times that it fell apart and it was thrown away. Luckilly I was able to get a used copy not so long ago. This book has so many favorite poems that we still quote such as,

Phoebe in a Rosebush, Phoebe in a Tree.
There's Many a Phoebe in the World,
But You're the one For me.

and

Cockyolly Bumkin Merry Go Bet
Fell in the Duckpond and Got all Wet
A Nickle For a Nappy and a Penny For a Pen
To Dress My Little Cockyolly Bumkin in

and

Do the Baby Cake Walk
A One Step a Two Step
A Wobble and A Bobble in the Knee
With a Toe Heel Toe and A Giddy Go Round You Go
Won't You Do the Baby Cake Walk for Me.

Anyway I could go on and on, but this book is a treasure, and it is a sin that it is out of print. Any Publishers out there. PLEASE REPRINT "CATCH ME AND KISS ME AND SAY IT AGAIN."

A great book!
This is a great book! I remember my mom reading me a copy from the library when I was little, and now I want to give it to her as a Christmas present. It would have been so much easier if it was still in print - I had to look all over to find a copy I could afford!
