I could eat this book!
This is the most delicious book I have ever read. I was surprised to learn not only about caviar (which I am a addict of) but also about truffles. The mouthwatering chapters on foie gras and smoked salmon are hard not to reread late at night when I am alone and yearning for something great. And Champagne --- one of my favorite beverages is handled with a sensativity and understanding that surpasses the snobs in the business and makes it a tangible subject.

I'll never look at water in the same way again!
I used this book extensively for a college report on the bottled water industry and found out there is a lot more to water than I thought. I use to take it for granted but now I really think about water and what makes it so unique. The author did a good job of researching and writes on some really exotic brands. It would be fun to have tasted all the waters.

The perfect book for a 1990's lifestyle.
I bought this book on a whim. In fact I thought it was a joke - especially with Dennis Miller's quote on the back cover. What surprised me was although it was a little booklet it was full of information about water which I had never before thought about. I liked all the terms which reminded me of a wine tasting. But how sobering with only water! I would have give the book a higher rating if it had been longer. Just when I was getting into some of the water ancedotes, it came to an end. But, overall I'd reccomend the book and trying out the guideline's to hold a water tasting. We did it at the office and it was very enlightening - BTW - San Pellegrino came in first place for sparkling and Great Bear for non-carbonated. New York City tap water came in 4th out of 6.
