This is a wonderful book that I pull out at least once a year to re-read! If you're interested in Ancient Egypt, and fiction set in Ancient Egypt, you will love it also.

Beautiful Sharula (later re-named Nefertiry) is given to King Ramessa to be another one of his wives. Refusing to be content as just another woman in the harem, Nefertiry eventually has herself elevated to queen. Her absolute loyalty to Ramessa earns her many enemies at court, among the priests of Amon-Ra and within her new "family".

Not your typical romance read. The plot line involves much more that what I've mentioned above, and the way the author writes will make you feel like you are right there, in a corner, watching it all happen.
