Realistic Native American Romance
I read this book last year. It is as powerful today as it was 20 years ago. Having read numerous Native American books, I found Nokoa's Woman, spiritualy sensitive to the Native American's history. She Provided a touching, poetic, romantic story. This book was presented in an easy to read format, yet provided all the details necessary to understand the diffculty between the love of a Native American and a New American. I could not put this book down, I had to read it in one sitting. The intence ending was an inspired surprise which left me conteplating this story for days. I would love a copy of this powerful book to share with my family. Gayle Rogers has become one of my favorite authors. I do hope there will be a sequal to this book.

An Amazing Haunting Indian Love story
I read the original The Second Kiss by Gayle Rogers in Thousand Oaks, 26 years ago And my Book was never returned after loaning it out to many folks to enjoy (I wish someone would return my signed book) then in Ohio I found Nakoas Woman in paperback & reread the beautiful so true love story, with such accurate detail and historical notes It again was so refreshing to read & so haunting , then we moved & my box of books was stolen but now I found Glaydce with a C by Gayle & it picks up the two soul mates in Nathaniel as Nakoa & Mylayna as Maria I felt their presence & that as their spirits got reunited again, I was so overwhelmed with emotional feelings I was left with goose bumps & the goose bumps are still with me,just thinking about their picking up where they left off in the another world, What a GLORIOUS Feeling it truly is!! Makes one really wonder about life and death. She has so much knowledge, it is like a real learning experience & she is giving you the inside of the spirit world such as it is. Makes you really wonder whats next??? Keep writing & I also would just love to see the book in a Movie as she wrote it & described the areas , times & places . Thats my dream.

As an avid reader - It doesn't get any better than this!
I first read the book over 20 years ago while in High School. The story line still haunts me today. I would love to visit with the author and discuss the ending. I'm anxious to hear what others believed to have happened in the ending. Nakoa's Women is still my all-time favorite romance! I have been looking for a copy for the last 15 years. Cranston if you find-one let me know.

All I Need to Know About Filmmaking I Learned from the Toxic Avenger: The Shocking True Story of Troma Studios

It's not a "HOW-TO" guide, but a good read for TROMA fans.
Like the title says, this is not a "how-to" guide on filmmaking, the "how-to" parts would probably make up less than 1% of this book. I'm not kidding.

What this book is, is an autobiography of Lloyd Kaufman/history of Troma Studios.

The book chronicles Lloyd's early days working in New York films doing grunt work, right up until one of his latest releases... "Tromeo And Juliet".

If you've ever seen a Troma movie, you'll know that it has the tendency to either go beyond good taste, or what you're expecting... or just be completely anti-establishment in it's nature.

Lloyd's writing is the same, it's insightful, interesting, FUN, while also being really wacky and off the the wall. Sometimes to the point where you'll find yourself wondering... "Why have I paid for a book about Lloyd's experienced with hookers and venereal disease in Africa?"

(Rest assured, Lloyd offers a valid reason for a lot of of mad and strange anecdotes he offer in his book.)

Perhaps the book's best strong point, is it's great background/historical information of things that happened behind the scenes during the making of Troma's biggest films...

The Toxic Avenger 1-2-3, SGT Kabukiman NYPD, Troma's War, Class Of Nukem High, Tromeo And Juliet.

These are but a small percentage of the films Lloyd goes into great depth explaining eactly what went on and why. Like I said, the book completely chronicals everything about the early days before the Toxic Avenger. The Toxic Avenger (Troma's most famous film) doesn't appear until about half-way through the book).

I rate this book 4 stars because it's got everything in there, but I don't rate it 5 because Lloyd, not being the greatest writers in the world... and always seemingly lost in his own little world, goes too far at times filling pages with stupid unnecessary chat transcripts. (They do often serve a purpose, but not always)

This is an amusing and complex book
Despite how it is being marketed, this pseudo auto-biography allows you as much into the personality of Kaufman as it does into the history of Troma or its stated purpose, to teach young filmmakers how to get started in the business. Like the best of Kaufman's films, this book brings you into a subject that you may not be initially interested in, and forces you to pay attention. For example, the average reader probably does not care about the filmmaker's years in college or his wife's reaction to her portrayal in the first few chapters of the book. However, the natural charisma of Mr. Kaufman brings you warmly into his life and allows you to enjoy the story of the world's oldest independent film studio. And like the worst moments in Lloyd's movies, the humor can be so hokey that you blush on Kaufman's behalf. But that is half the fun. Additionally, to show the complexity of the human character, something Howard Stern has never been able to do without back peddling, Lloyd will tell you a story such as needing to leave a gory shoot of the film Troma's War to watch his wife give birth. In all, it is a fascinating book whether or not you are interested in Troma studios.

I like this book so much I litterally purchased 3 copies!
This book is, in a word, Tromatic. All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I learned from The Toxic Avenger is both an indespensible rescource and holy book for the true Troma fan, as well as being a wonderful introduction for non-Tromites into the wonderful, hairy world that is Tromaville. But that's not all. All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I learned from The Toxic Avenger gives both instruction and hope to enterprising independant filmmakers. Instruction in the form of such pearls of wisdom as "Make sure there are enough toilets" and "The MPAA sucks" and hope in that once you realise Troma Studios can make movies and be reasonably successful at it, there's no reason why you or your sock puppet Merv can't be. In truth, All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I learned from The Toxic Avenger, is an extremely funny, well written tome filled with wry humor, studio anecdotes, graphic discriptions of vomiting green toxic ooze (complete with directions to do so yourself) and great photographs. It is also very thick, and perfect for use in fixing uneven chair legs or stacked with phonebooks as a step stool. After reading this book, you too will be shouting "Long Live Troma!"

The closest you'll ever come to knowing another species
Roger Fouts has written an extraordinary book that combines insight with scientific fact as he relates his experiences with a special chimpanzee who changed the direction of his life. As a graduate student in experimental psychology at the University of Nevada, Fouts is given an assistantship to "teach a chimpanzee to talk" using modified American Sign Language, and thus begins his introduction to impishly clever Washoe. Washoe is in almost every sense a "person", with specific character traits, likes and dislikes, habits and methods. When she is in danger of being dumped into a medical facility at the end of the study, Fouts fights to protect her against the woefully inadequate laws and accepted scientific procedures. His battle not only for Washoe but for all captive chimpanzees becomes the focus of his career. Because Washoe and her companions have the ability to express themselves, this is at times a heartbreaking tale as Fouts and the reader discover how closely related chimps and humans truly are. Through his passionate storytelling and his breadth of knowledge, Fouts gives readers an intimate glimpse into these fascinating non-human lives.

I cannot express adequately how moving and instructive this account is. It will affect you on a deeply emotional level - I can't imagine how anyone can emerge from this story unchanged. I highly recommend this book for all readers, from teenagers to adults, from casual to serious readers.

Chimp Champs
In doing research for a journalism assignment, I was recommended Fouts' "Next of Kin." I read the book as I prepared for a trip to the Center for Captive Chimpanzee Care, a sanctuary of hope in southern Florida for chimpanzees rescued from labs and similar monstrosities, funded by Jane Goodall and other good people. It was a superb introduction to what I was about to witness, and I ended up using a lengthy quote from the book as an epigram to my article about the sanctuary.

Fouts has given an incredible and heart wrenching insight into a world we too often choose to ignore - the world side by side to our own "civilized" one, the world of the animal kingdom. It is, perhaps, our view of it as a separate world from our own that first gets us into trouble. The human being is an arrogant being. We like to think that we are the superior beast - the thinking, feeling, building, progressive being that rules the earth - but so often the human being is not so superior at all, but only... a beast. Fouts takes that arrogance down several notches. He reveals the remarkable intelligence of the chimpanzee mind. He reveals the astounding emotional depth of the chimpanzee heart. He unveils the tragic suffering of the chimpanzee life when we forget these emotional and intellectual capacities. In a time when scientific strides in all fields - space exploration, medical, or other - can easily be made without the torment of our animal brethren, this book bears witness to our human cruelty and argues effectively for an abandonment of such treatment forever. We are not, after all, a superior creature on this planet. We are only one among many, sharing a global environment to which all of our varied species have a right to live in, enjoying our freedom to live our lives without the threat of enslavement by others - human or animal.

An awe inspiring glmipse into the life of one who cares
After reading Fout's Next Of Kin I was speechless. I can express how wonderful it is to learn from an indivdual whose humility, concern for life and compassion is his life work. I simply could not put the book down! It was one of the most thoughtful, eye-opening, and educated books that I have ever read. Having the opportunity to listen to Roger Fouts speak on booktour, my heart opened to his message of compassion; his willingness to express his feelings and experiences to a group of strangers further enhanced my view of this incredible individual. A book that will change your life and the way you see our next of kin and the fellow animals of this world.

My daughter's favorite book!
Daughter Anna (now 19 years old) loved this book. It was her favorite above all others. As we sorted through some old kid things for give-away purposes, we stumbled upon this old, well worn copy of "The Velveteen Rabbit." She insisted we keep the book for HER children.

This was her book that Mama (me!) had to read to her again and again and again. As soon as the last word was read on the last page, it was "Mama, please read it again!"

(how I miss those days, by the way!)

The book also has a powerful message about Love that children understand and cherish.

This is a wonderful book. No child should be without their own copy of "The Velveteen Rabbit."

Velveteen Rabbit story good for parents and children
It's a sweet story of a 'simple' stuffed rabbit amidst the more 'complex' modern toys in a boy's "toy collection". The rabbit starts to believe that in order to get the love of the boy, he needs to appear 'real', or be able to zoom about like the motorized toys...
(And I'm not going to tell you the end hahahahaha!!!)
It was great having that read to me, while I was hugging my stuffed animals in bed.
But -- in a way, at first glance it looks like a simple story, but it is actually a surprisingly complex story. Leave it on your child's bookshelf as he/she grows up and he/she will reread it again and again as he/she questions issues such as "who am I?", "what does it mean to be 'real'"?, "what is my role in this world?", and even "what is death"?

A TRUE CLASSIC FILLED WITH A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE
I seldom write reviews on children's books, although I love them with a passion. My children are now mothers and my grandchildren are past young childhood. However, I believe that somewhere deep inside each of us remains a small child that still loves fairy tales, cotton candy, and walking barefoot in the grass. This book was one of my children's favourites, along with "Charlotte's Web;" both were also my own personal favourites. When my children were six years old reading this book became a nighly adventure until I knew the words by heart. For the reviewer who rated the book with a one star due to a spelling error, my heart goes out to you; you have sadly missed something very important - the message. The book is not about spelling, editing or lack thereof; it is about encouragement and love.

The book tells the story of a toy, sawdust-filled rabbit who wishes with all his heart to become real. The message contained in this book is poignant, heart-warming and touching, and one that you will never foreget as long as you live. It is a story of beauty, wonder and love. Any child who misses out on "The Velveteen Rabbit" is missing out on one of life's greatest lessons. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful, wonderful book and highly recommend it to children...and the grown-up child in all of us.

IT'S BACK IN PRINT!
IT'S BACK IN PRINT! IT'S BACK IN PRINT! Thank all the gods, it's finally back in print!

The book is everything promised and so much more. A mature counter-point to the (also excellent) "Creature of Light and Darkness", the book is not diminished by re-reading.

Even though I have the story comitted to memory, along with numerous key quotes, it remains fresh and insightful -- indeed, timeless. The book was written in 1967 and could have just as easily been read today.

The characters are distinct and original and, yet, at the same time the story has an epic and poetic feel that is perfectly appropriate to its subject matter.

Zelazny was the Lord of Writers and we shan't see his like again. Let us only hope that this book is the first of many re-prints to come.

Lord Of Write
Lord Of Light was first published in 1967. It proceeded to win the Hugo award as best novel. In this book Zelazny demonstates his amazing gift of character creation and writing stylization that make this novel seem at times to be almost one long poetic dream on par with "Xanadu". His writing style combined with the imagery set forth in this masterwork to create a totally believable tale, for it deals with the struggle of man to ovrcome his baser self as well as his opressive fellow man. As a personal note I must say that this is by far my favorite single novel by Mr. Zelazney. It's blending of hard SF with the Hindu religion is seamlessly done, and of course it was an inspired choice to set the Buddha in the role of prime antagonist, allied with Death Himself. The rich scene settings only add to the over all depth of this amazing story. This is truly one of the milestones of SF writing, a must read for anyone interested in the genre.

Simply Zelazny's Best
Zelazny won the Hugo for this book; for once I agree the award was right. This is his most brilliant book, a terrific blend of mythos and technology.

The former crew on this colony world rules the former passengers as gods rule peasants. Through technology, they have achieved many aspects of godhood, including reincarnation, terrifying weapons and psi powers by which they can kill with a look. The religion chosen for this more-than-theocracy is Hinduism.

Former crew Sam, while he likes his worldly pleasures, revolts against his peers, and casts himself as Buddha against the theocracy (as well as filling prayer machines with slugs, allying himself with the indigenous creatures and engaging in enough apocalyptic battles to satisfy the most jaded Robert Jordan fan). As Siddhartha and the Mahasamatman he sows the seeds that threaten to bring down the theocracy. And he demonstrates that even the most insincere Buddha can have true converts, true believers, and that the power of religion transcends its uses.

With a wonderful storyline, replete with flashbacks and plot twists, Zelazny crafts an absolutely terrific story. The book has no weak points.

This was the first book to base a world on a technologically rationalized mythos. Zelazny attempted it later in "Creatures of Light and Darkness," using the Egyptian mythos, but the book is much less successful. "Lord of Light" is the struggle of Buddhism against militant Hinduism, where technology, not spiritualism, rules. But it's the plot, the characterization and Zelazny's wonderful ironic tone that make this an exceptional book.

It's great to see this book back in print. Highly recommended.

The Night Before Christmas (All Aboard Book and Puzzle)

A great book for a great price!!
In preparing our list of Christmas books to share with others, we had to search far and wide on amazon to find this particular book, a paperback edition of the classic Night Before Christmas.

This is the book I've used for years when reading this story to my own children, passing on Tasha Tudor and other illustrators. Why?

Although we can find the same poem and pay a lot more, with award winning illustrators, the illustrations provided by Douglas Gorsline are surely the best. They are quite colorful, and offer details little children love looking into...cats lie sleepily on the window sill, we see an overview of the town, the presents spilling from the open sack are intriguing and plentiful, and Jolly St. Nick is -- well, quite Jolly (as you can see by looking at the cover!)

The story is an "abridged version" - I'm not sure about other parents, but we read this on Christmas Eve, and we only have so much time and energy. Everything we remember from the classic poem by Clement Clarke Moore is in this version.

(From "'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse" to "He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!" In between we have everything, from the names of the eight tiny reindeer, to a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly, including dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky".

In other words, don't be scared off by 'abridged'!)

Perhaps a hardcover edition might be more appropriate if you're giving a gift (unless you're giving to more than one child), but this book is one of the best offers we've found!

A classic done simply and inexpensively!

The Night Before Christmas illustrated by Tasha Tudor
I discovered this book 31 years ago, for my daughter and it is still loved by all the family. The illustrations are wonderful, warm, charming and delightful and bring a special meaning to the story. We still read it to all the young children on Christmas Eve and for adults we read the story and pass a grab bag gift every time the word THE is mentioned. It would not be Christmas without this book. It is magical.

A beautiful edition, to give as a gift
We have an inexpensive paperback version (see our reviews) of this classic poem, and we said that's enough for us. That was before we looked through this beautifully illustrated (by Bruce Whatley) edition of The Night Before Christmas.

The lyrics are the same, from book to book, but the fanciful illustrations in this one are enough to engage adults and children as they read this book together.

The perfect gift for any family whose Christmas tradition includes reading this classic!

9 Princes in Amber
Published in Audio Cassette by Sunset Productions (1998)
Author: Roger Zelazny
Amazon base price: $25.00
Average review score:

A great book, one of the best.
Roger Zelazny did well on creating a story with a intresting twist. The first book in the ten book series, Nine Princes in Amber, starts off with a freak auto accident that put the hero of the story(Corwin of Amber) in the hospital. Nine Princes in Amber tells the tale of Corwins Recovery of Amnesia, witch he sufferd from a cuncossion, and his adventures thereafter. He learns of his family members, and their....special qualities. He finds out that the place called Amber, is his birth place, and the one true existence. Earth, and all other things, are merly shadows of Amber. Roger Zelazny wrote the book in a exiting, humoris manor, that puts you right into the story. There are ten books in the Amber series, all of witch I've read, spending more than 23 hours consuming there marvelous complicity. If you buy Nine Princes in Amber, you won't be able to resist the other books also.

The ultimate read
Roger Zelazny was--and still is--renowned as a literary master of speculative fiction. It's easy to see why with this book, which is *not*, believe it or not, considered to be best of his works...only the most popular.

Zelazny stretches the use of words to the maximum. You will encounter flowery, formal dialogue, complete with "thee"'s; you will encounter the contemplative thoughts of a cynical, hard-boiled detective; you will encounter the direct, concise summary of actions taken in quick succession. And they meld together without any objection, submitting to Zelazny's hand to reside in a flawless whole before the reader.

The protagonist, Corwin, begins the story with amnesia. Yes, the typical help-I've-lost-my-memory-I'd-better-go-recover-it setup. But there's nothing to worry about; the plot has been solidly constructed from the beginning of this book to the end of the last in the series, and a diabolically intricate mesh of intrigue and adventure unfolds.

All this takes place in not only an original world, but in an original universe. Earth is part of it, a welcome familiar setting, but the premise behind why our planet is only a part of the cosmos is novel and integrated closely with the story.

Lastly, although the cast of characters is huge--nine princes in Amber, along with a handful of princesses and countless minor characters--each one is distinct and deftly described. The reader is able to reach out to each one and understand them all.

What is there to lose? And there's so much to gain. I strongly recommend this novel as well as those following it in the series, and I can guarantee an absolute lack of disappointment.

Warning: Reading this book is expensive and time consuming.
Its been nearly 20 years since I read the Amber series by Roger Zelazny (RIP good man.) The warning above regards the money your gonna spend (immediately) on the rest of the Amber series and how you will spend your time the rest of the week after you have finished Nine Princes of Amber. In fact, you'll wish there was a 24 hour bookstore nearby after reading Nine Princes of Amber get the next book NOW. Folks, this is a Classic (Fantasy and Science Fiction) in every sense of the word, as you may gather from the reviews on this page. Many of the excited reviews from readers are not exaggerations (including my own). I have only one piece of advice for you potential first time readers of Zelazny (particulary this book). Zelazny will put you immediately in his story so be patient. He dispatches with the spoon-feeding of his stories to the neophytes or the uninterested (godbless him). He treats his readers as a "literary adults". If you want a "Once upon a time" book, the Children,s Books section is over to the right, second aisle... 'Nuff said. This book is written in the first person, and the main character wakes up clueless, as will you be (for a while). You will learn as he does the complicated circumstance of his past, present, and future. Reading the reviews gave me goosebumps all over again. Well enough of my babblings, I'm gonna dust off that series again for another read. I suggest you do the same.

Inspiring- Highlights Strength of Character for Success
An amazing story which leaves in the dust other "Buffett" books, notably "The Warren Buffett Way" (which is more like a Street Analyst trying to "predict" Warren Buffett- albeit after the fact). Roger Lowenstein's book reads like a Harold Robbins novel, in terms of the story and the manner in which it is told. Also, the author never loses sight of the fact that Buffett neither assisted nor obstructed the book. This is seen in the way he writes about Buffett's personal life. Using the knowledge from his years of Wall Street Journalism experience, Lowenstein makes it really simple for a layman such as me, what is unique about Warren Buffett, and how ridiculous almost everyone else on the Wall Street has sounded over the years. But the wisdom I've gained from this book is that the single most important factor that contributed to Warren Buffett's success was not his mathematical ability or the teachings of Ben Graham, but his own "Strength of Character" - his complete Honesty, Unwavering Adherence to his Principles in the face of contrarian beliefs by the rest of the world and testing times, total Dedication to Work, and Incredible Patience. Warren Buffett has blown away the common notion that if you believe in and practice honesty, faithfulness, and simplicity, you can't become rich.

Read about an original home-based entrepreneur.
He's perhaps the most successful self-published author in the world. His books cost several thousand dollars and up. He's the world's most successful work-at-homer (he started out in a home office in the 1950s, way before it was cool). That he has entrepreneurial instincts there can be no doubt. We're talking about publishing wunderkind, Warren Buffett. Is it no coincidence that this formerly low-profile investor from Omaha, Nebraska has achieved pop icon status around the same time that working Americans are questioning and re-evaluating their own economic status and security in light of their career investments in time, money, and education? Roger Lowenstein is a Buffet biographer who was somewhat surprised when sales of his book passed the 100,000 mark. "I guess I underestimated the number of people out there who want to get rich in the stock market," he said. His paperback edition of Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist, will hopefully begin to pay dividends for Doubleday's Main Street Books imprint this month. Warren Buffet is a well-known author to stockholders in his Berkshire Hathaway investment vehicle. He writes lengthy, folksy, and astutely analytical annual reports that stand in marked contrast to the PR-speak of most such documents. Some pay thousands of dollars for one share of Berkshire so they can read his annual missives. Lowenstein, a Wall Street Journal columnist, was a longtime reader who yearned to write about Buffet at length. Buffett did not share Lowenstein's enthusiasm so did not cooperate with the book. But he didn't try to interfere, either, according to the author. "He was inadvertantly an entrepreneur, "said Lowenstein. "He started out as a guy in Omaha going around trying to raise money from people who were impressed with his self-confidence and brightness, and he worked out of his study. He had a neightbor named Don Keough, who later became president of the Coca-Cola Company. Buffett told him, 'have you ever thought about these great kids you have, w! ho's gonna provide for 'em? Maybe you oughta give me some of your money and let me invest it.' Keough thought about it and talked with his wife about it, and he knew that Buffett was right, but he told me he just couldn't get over the hump of giving money to somebody who sat around all day in a t-shirt. "Buffett spent the day in his study when the respectable folk wore a coat and tie to the office. So Keogh didn't invest...After about 5 or 6 years Buffet got an office and he's in the same office his whole career. It's two miles from his house, so it's almost as if he just lengthened the corridor. He doesn't lose much time commuting." Home officing and entrepreneuring doesn't get much more successful than this.

A Biography, NOT an Investment Guide
This well written biography of Warren Buffett is just that, a biography. Those readers seeking Mr. Buffett's investment advice need to look elsewhere. "The Warren Buffett Way" written by Hagstrom or Mr. Buffett's shareholder letter in Berkshire Hathaway's annual reports would be an excellent place to start. In this book Lowenstein descriptively documents the events that shaped Buffett's life beginning with childhood. The reader gains an in depth understanding and appreciation of Mr. Buffett's business acumen. Any disappointment that the reader encounters is probably a result of the fact that Mr. Buffett leads an exceptionally mundane life. As a result, the reader at times will feel compelled to put the book down. If you are fascinated with Mr. Buffett's ability to consistently outperform the market or are a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder this is a must read.

Egoscue's book appears both effective and economical.
After two sessions with Egoscue's exercises, I've still spent less than $25, I can hold my head straighter, and my uneven gait from mis-aligned hips is much improved. Two sessions at the physical therapist would have cost $36 in hot-packs alone, never mind the cost of actual therapy. And I would have been treated for the hip or the shoulder, but probably not both.

Egoscue recommends reading the introductory chapters, then moving to the chapters specific to your needs. This advice works well with one possible exception: you may miss the story about the woman so misaligned that after 45 minutes in a relaxed, static back posture, she went into muscle spasm. This story indicates that it might be wise for people with considerable pain or strong mis-alignment to have someone with them during the first days or weeks of doing these exercises, to begin with the minimum times recommended for each exercise, and to expect to take longer to reach maintenance.

Egoscue might also have provided directions on how to get up after lying in some of these positions: I've found it helps to pull my legs in toward my torso, then turn onto my side before I try raising my head and upper body.

All in all, Egoscue's book appears very helpful. I now have high hopes for my own recovery from various chronic muscle ailments and recommend the book (I'm getting ready to have Amazon.com mail a copy to my sister right now).

This book has helped me to recovery from a painful condition
_Approximately five years ago I had a complete set of x-rays performed by an orthopedic surgeon, and was diagnosised with arthritis, painful heel spurs, and severe plantar fasciatis. Since that time I have tried all of the arthritis prescriptions, and I could not tolerate the side effects. Many visits later to a chiropractor and a poditrist I was still unable to be mobile without severe pain. Water aerobics seem to keep me active, but did not correct the problems. I have spent hundreds of dollars on orthoditics and corrective shoes and no relief.

As I walked into the public library one day my eyes fell on this book sitting on the shelf next to the check out stand. I could not believe my eyes since it seems to have been written especially for me. This coincidence put me on my road to recovery. I have been doing the exercises about six months now, and I feel a hundred percent better. I now have a copy of this book in my personal library. I feel it is very important to read the complete book, and to keep it handy for reference and inspiration. I have a new lease on life due to the discovery of this book.

Buy it Now!!
I purchased this book after being diagnosed with 2 herniated discs, one ruptured. My neurosurgeon told me there was nothing I could proactively do to remedy this condition, but I refused to accept this diagnosis and subsequently found and bought this book.

I performed some of the exercises for back pain and felt some immediate, but not complete, relief. I knew, though, that I had a lot to fix after being in an extremely severe car accident several years ago. I was extremely impressed, however, with the physiological foundations for this form of therapy. It just made a lot of intuitive sense.

So, I arranged to visit the Egoscue Clinic in Del Mar, about a 3 hour drive from my home. I'm now 3 visits into the 8 visit program and I could not be more impressed. These people are doing AMAZING things and getting people back to living functionally who thought they'd never be functional again.

In the strongest possible terms, I encourage ANYONE to get this book, read it, and use it. And if you suffer from chronic pain that is seriously impacting your life, you owe it to yourself to avail yourself of the clinic's services.

By the way, I've had the opportunity to meet Pete Egoscue and have spent maybe a half hour talking with him one on one. He's a very nice, humble man who has a sincere heart for helping people become pain free.

Classic Dramatic Writing
Sidney Sheldon has been my favorite author since I first started reading his books (my first three were Nothing Lasts Forever, The Other Side of Midnight, and Master of the Game), and If Tomorrow Comes is probably my favorite book out of his library of best-sellers. The romance, drama, and intrigue of this book make it an unbeatable read for any Sheldon fan (and many fans of Jackie Collins or Harold Robbins, also), and my personal favorite scene is when the two crooks (Tracy and Jeff {I think that's his name--I haven't reread the book in a few months}) trick the two best chess players in the world even though they'd never played a play of chess in their lives. They end up swindling a lot of money on these crooked games, and all through the book make high security museums and personal residences seem like unlocked cars--easy to open up. I like the romance the best though, since I'm the biggest romantic EVER.

If Tomorrow Comes
Before I start giving my review of this book I want to say I am really not a reader, but I have some things happened in my life where I had some time to read a little.

This is the first book that I have ever read by the author Sidney Sheldon and my honest opinion is the book is a excellent book. I started reading the book on a Saturday about five or six years ago and I could not put the book down. I was so engrossed into the book I could not wait to finish it. I beleive I finished the book in about two days. Now I am a true fan of the Sindney Sheldon book club. I like the book so well I am ordering it to read it again. If anybody have read any other heart stopping books by Sheldon please let me know what you think about the book so I can order it myself.

Sid's the Best ..If Tomorrow Comes....
Sidney's most intriguing Heroine and an imaginative plot - If Tomorrow Comes is all about Tracy Whitney 'My Love' who bubbles around merrily while you devour the book happily! Yeah, Sheldon is my top fav and I read all his books which are just great but this one is a page turner that never makes you stop reading again n again! Smashing, lovely Whitney faces hardship and revenge. Sid has efficiently portrayed the character of Tracy Whitney, the beautiful romantic woman, an idealistic who passed through trials in life. When her mom Dorris Whitney commited suicide, Sid express the emotions of Tracy deeply live all through the pages when Leiutenant Miller informs her and she reaches to find a note left by her mom! If Tomorrow comes is Sidney Sheldon's Best ever pick you can choose and enjoy the scoop of romance, money game, adventure, thrill and emotion.
