being a lifelong cubs fan, this book has everything for both the cubs and sox fan. the book does a wonderful job of going back and forth between both team through the good times (which is few) and the bleek times (more often). the book was one in which i couldn't put down. the dustcover is absolutely gorgous with the blue for the cubs and the black for the sox. the only thing that was wrong with the book it did have a few typo errors in it. ie., it stated that cap anson led the league in hitting in 1991. well, i think they meant 1891. he was dead for 35 years before 1991. anyway, other than the "few" typos the book was OUTSTANDING!!!!

THIS BOOK IS ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE CUBS AND WHITE SOX. I WAS TRULY AMAZED BY ALL THE DETAILED INFORMATION AVAILABLE BY THE AUTHORS. I WAS TOTALLY CONSUMED BY THIS BOOK. I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END AND HAD A HARD TIME PUTTING IT DOWN. AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED BY ANOTHER REVIEW IT HAS A GREAT DUST COVER AND COULD BE USED AS A TYPE OF NOSTALGIC DECORATION. THIS IS A MUST FOR ALL CHICAGO BASEBALL FANS ESPECIALLY. THE ONLY THING I WOULD ADD TO THIS BOOK WOULD BE MORE PICTURES. THIS IS A TREMENDOUS ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION OF BOOKS ABOUT THE GRAND OLD GAME. GET IT.

This book is great for anyone who loves baseball and the Cubs. It contains a year by year analysis of all Cubs teams, biographies of most of the key players over the years, and information about the various owners, managers and presidents. It is a gold mine of trivia.

However, my biggest disappointment was the numerous typos that were present through out the book, including misspellings. It made this otherwise comprehensive book look like it was hastily put together. I hope that a new edition comes out to correct all of the errors.

The idea may have seemed good, but it wasn't. The book is just filled with the articles Mr. Vass wrote for Baseball Digest. He didn't give you any information on the players, nor did he follow up on the player he had just written about. Listen to me people. As an avid reader of Baseball Digest, I never thought George Vass' articles were good, nor did I think they fitted the magazine. Don't waste your money on this book. Go out and read a better baseball book.

I think The Game I'll Never Forget was one of the finest, most informative books I've ever read. Each story captures the essence of the man and the game. Mr. Vass is a wonderful writer and I've enjoyed his "The Game I'll Never Forget" stories for years. What a wonderful idea to compile them into one great book. I'd love to see another 50 stories compiled for my reading pleasure.
