I have been a chemotherapy nurse for years, and find Davis's Guide to IV medications to be an excellent resource book. Compatibilities as well as incompatibilites with other drugs are listed, as well as patient teaching, lab considerations, side effects and much more valuable information. This is the only IV drug reference you will need.

I am a pharmacist at a large hospital in TN and find this book is indispensible. It is very easy to find information and lists accepted usage not just info from a package insert.

This book was a great reference. It systematically explains pharmacology covering the vital aspects one needs to know in order to pass the NCLEX exam. Gives an overall view of the different classifications of drugs and how they interact with the body. Probably one of the most complete and precise pharmacology references you will ever own!

The Davis's Drug Guide offer up-to-date info similar to other drug guides but the advantage is the larger but thinner book. This allows you to have the page open while writing up information. Other drug guides are nice and compact but are difficult to keep open on their own. The information needed by nurses is spelled out plainly with important information marked with bold or italic text.

Im currently a RN student and many of the students in my class including myself use this book. I've actually used 3 different brands but this book stands above all. It lets the reader know important points about the drugs and does not confuse as some of the other books have done w/elaborate terminology. Davis keeps it simple and its well designed. Software isn't bad as well but I find myself using the book more often when I look up the drugs.

Davis's is the BEST drug guide for students, new grads and long-time nurses. Nursing dx are included with every drug listed. Quick and simple to use. Cross-referenced by brand and generic names. OTC medications get the same treatment as prescription medications. Davis's also has listings for the most used herbals and excellent content to help guide the nurse in herbal-drug interactions. The best deal out there, I am buying my third copy of this excellent resource.

This was required for my RN program, I purchased it and I think it is a good source but isn't very convenient because you have to pull the cards out of a box that just fits the cards. Some meds are not in this as well and I had to purchase another reference so that I have all information for my clinical setting. So it was pretty costly due to the fact I had to purchase 2 reference materials and would like to have just purchased one.
