This author is one of the best and I'm not just saying that! This series is about a family and all the hardships that they face. It has fresh clean romance too! If you want to read a good book read this series. start with number 1 and work your way to number 3. 2nd book in a set of 3 excellent historical novels
This book picks up where the first book in this trilogy "I am Mary Tudor" finishes. It covers the years from her accession to the Throne, to her marriage to Phillip of Spain and her first "pregnancy" and finishes when she is expecting her first child.

These are excellent very "realistic" novels. They really bring home how much of international diplomacy etc hang on trifles like 'precedence'and imagined slights to honour. The author has obviously put a great deal of research into these books and for me they have been as good as a well written "real aka academic" biography. Now I've just got to find a copy of the 3rd book "bloody Mary" to finish the story.

This is a highly reccomended, though almost forgotten, historical novels author.

Mary: A History of Doctrine and Devotion

A must for those seriously interested in the Virgin Mary
I have had the oportunity to work extensively with this book as a theology student studying the history and development of the doctrine and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I am a Catholic priest and I work in Latin America in the Family Rosary Apostolate. I have been taking this past year to study, and as much as I can I have finally been getting to the more in depth study of Marian devotion that I have wanted to do for years. This book, together with Jaroslave Pelikan's "Mary through the Centuries" have been the most valuable resources, and someone who did not have much time to study could simply work with these two books and come away with quite a bit of depth and breadth in their Marian knowledge. Mrs. Graef offers a wealth of detailed yet broad knowledge about Marian devotion and Mariology as it has developed through the centuries. Her treatment is at the same time reverent and questioning in a healthy way (i.e., she questions tendencies to excess that at times have entered into Marian devotion. As John XXIII said, Mary is not pleased when she is elevated higher than her Son.) The work is well written, and is appropriate equally for the scholar and any intellegent and interested reader.

Long-Lost Recipes
I have been searching for some of these recipes since I lost pages out of my grandmother's recipe collection. They're all here, and I'm making them for my sisters and my father for Christmas this year. My sisters are also getting this book for Christmas presents. They will be absolutely shocked--we had all thought many of these recipes were lost forever. Hilda Cooper is incredible.

A Wonderful Edition
A wonderful edition of a phenomenal book. Though unfinished, H.D.'s 'Paint it Today' is rich with symbolism and imagery. Bulding from allusions to many writers of antiquity, H.D. provides inspirational and emotive lines articulating sentiments of love and truth. As H.D. writes, "The fiance had shown Midget what love might be or become if one, in desperation, should accept the shadow of an understanding for understanding itself. . . But there are many colors to our lives, I have been led to believe. The shadow of an understanding is not a bad beginning to one's emotional radius. Against the shadow, the better things show true" (22). This particular edition's endnotes extends the meaning in H.D.'s words, informing readers of mythological, literary and personal allusions.

A Must-Read for Students of Ancient and Modern Mexico
This book exemplifies Hildegard Delgado Pang's gift for sharing appreciation of both ancient and modern cultures. It is beautifully illustrated and includes detailed drawings by the author. While the research and documentation of ancient art is meticulous, the author does not neglect the connections between past and contemporary cultures. Her sensitivity to both brings depth to this subject that far surpasses the triviality of viewing artifacts as separate novelties.

The Prostate Cancer Answer Book
I am a Cancer Information Specialist for the Cancer Information Service of the National Cancer Institute. We are the well-known 800 4 CANCER hotline number. We use this book every day on the phones with patients and family members. Because I use it so much I have probably read it (in bits and pieces) twenty times. It is fabulous and very readable. It has an easy-to-read question and answer format. It answers question like "Will the biopsy spread my cancer?" and "Where can I get proton beam therapy?" and seemingly every other question a prostate cancer patient might have. If you have prostate cancer then BUY THIS BOOK and read it entirely before making any treatment decisions. This very inexesive book is
one of the best investments you will every make.
Please note that I have no connection to this book or the authors or the publishing company and am making this review without anyone having asked me to and of course without any kind of compensation at all. I just love this incredibly useful book. Also note that this is a my personal review and is not meant to reflect in any way the opinions of the Cancer Information Service or the National Cancer Institute.
