The Story of Horrible Hilda and Henry

This book is as horrible as the kids!
As a first time reviewer I was compelled to put my two cents in about this book. I was unlucky to come across this in my niece's house and forced, (against my will, I may add) to read it aloud to her. Every page I read was more horrifying than the last. Not only do the terrible antics of these kids get prime time play but they show total disregard for their parents. And, if that isn't enough, the parents show pure disregard for the kids and have the wonderful idea of giving these kids to the zoo. That will teach them, right? Wrong. After they alleniate all the animals these kids are sacrficed to the lions. Now, what is this supposed to exemplify? That bad kids get sent away. That parents, who are supposed to provide support, guidance, love and boundaries, decide to feed their kids to the lions? Okay, so the kids get scared out of being naughty -- only to come home and be treated like slaves by their parents. But the last line of the book leads you to believe that the kids will indeed get their revenge. Whatever happened to storybook endings?

As a lover of children's fiction, I was totally outraged by this book and can only applaud the fact that it is out of print. Hurrah.

Horrible Hilda and Henry
This book will make you appreciate your own children!!!!!!

PINT SIZED PRAIRIE SPITFIRE!
Christian messages of of God's unconditional love, forgiveness and redemption through His son, Jesus, are deftly woven into this story of prairie migration, as Sadie's family starts a new life in Western Nebraska. First book in a Prarie Adventure series by midwestern author Hilda Stahl, SADIE ROSE presents us with a young heroine--a spunky 12-year-old girl who suffers from self-imposed guilt about her Pa's death. She refuses to adjust to Ma's new husband or to enjoy the family lifestyle which the Lord has provided them all.

Sadie Rose, the middle of 5 children, may be the runt of the family in terms of size, but she has the courage and feisty will to survive and protect her own--including a mistreated pup whom she rescues from a vicious old man. This brute stalks her and attempts kidnapping and worse. (Since this book is for young readers, no one dies.) This story will hold the interest of pre-teen girls, for the external plot is interesting, while the Eternal truths are tenderly expressed to reinforce a young Christian's faith.

Theodore Joanne(or something like that)
This is a christian-based childrens book.I read it as a kid and I was bored, but I was easily bored, always, when it came to books, and dearly devoted to Sweet Valley Twins!!!!!This is about Teddy-Jo and the fact that she is terrified to dive into the swimming pool in swimming class!(She shouldn't have to!)Eventually,it is her normally mean sister,Linda, who helps her by quoting from the bible that we are not meant to have spirits of fear.In other words we should just chill out and be happy.Cool!!

Worst Review Guide Ever!
The CD-Rom that contains the extra tests does not work.

There is a known problem with the software, and there is no patch or support. You cannot use the practice tests, unless you are inclined to look up the answers for each of the 3 tests, at 300 questions per test.

When I called Prentice Hall, they basically said they were sorry, and hung up.
