AWESOME
These daily devotionals not only are encouragement to any person, but powerful challenges to fully trust God and live for him. They are profound and in depth; obviously, Judith Couchman spent a lot of time putting together some of the most powerful messages from some of our greatest teachers and theologins. It's a must for any Christian seeking to know God and the power of His love more.

A Devotional with True Substance
Buy this devotional! It is a rare jewel. Unlike the vast majority of devotionals today, this one will get under your skin and let the Lord speak to you in profound ways. Yet is is easy and pleasant to read. Obviously, Ms. Couchman deserves tremendous credit for her labor of love in gleaning these passages from books that so few of us will ever have time to read for ourselves. Cudos to Judith Couchman!

Corrie Ten Boom's life continues to fascinate & inspire!
She writes with the love and forgiveness that became her trademark after suffering terrible things at the hands of the Nazi's during WWII. I never cease to be encouraged, uplifted, and inspired when reading anything that she writes-this book included. Very few could have forgiven their tormentors the way that Tante Corrie did. She did it by the grace of God and her life was all the better for it.

The best of Tante Corrie...
As someone who voraciously gobbles up the writings of Corrie ten Boom, I have to say that _In My Father's House_ is my favorite. Anyone who has read _The Hiding Place_ , _Tramp for the Lord_, _A Prison and Yet_, or other books relating to Corrie's Nazi concentration camp imprisonment and her resulting ministry should do themselves a favor and savor _In My Father's House_. I am so glad this book is back in print and can now reach a new audience. Corrie discusses how the twists and turns of her childhood, teen years, and pre-imprisonment adulthood all came together to prepare her for her WWII and postwar ministry. She shows the evidence of God moving in her life to prepare her for her upcoming adventures. If you don't think so already, _In My Father's House_ may be what convinces you that there's no such thing as coincidence. The simply written, very basic family story of this book holds some deep implications. It may startle you in a pleasant way.

I particularly recommend this book to parents, especially parents of young children. This book will show how God uses you to raise your child to fulfill God's purpose for his/her life. Corrie writes in a very touching way of how her parents, siblings, and extended family were so responsible for the extraordinary woman she became. This book is a beautiful testimony of how God uses families. It will inspire you to go pick up and cuddle your child while praying fervently. It will also remind you of your need to lean on God and rely on his guidance for this your most important job. _In My Father's House_ is a very powerful book.

I recommend that you buy a copy of this book rather than borrowing it or checking it out from the library. As your glance flits across your bookshelves, perhaps a slight smile will come to your face as you notice the familiar spine peeking out at you. I return to my copy frequently and have repeatedly drawn from it for Sunday School lessons and devotional topics. _In My Father's House_ would be a valuable addition to your book collection.

In My Father's house the years before the hiding place
This book is simple and to the point and beautifully written. It gives the reader the insight of how human Corrie Ten Boom was and yet how much she relied on God for her direction. It is filled with humor and innocence as Corrie recounts her childhood memories, but always making it a point to let the reader know that the main focus is God. The delightful stories will stick in your memory bank. It was a very delightful book which I shall cherish and re-read in years to come.

Another great devotional compiled by Judith Couchman
Judith's devotionals are so well put-together and a real blessing! First I read most of the Amy Carmichael one (called A Very Present Help), but I lost it before I finished it! (I had to order another one!)

So I started this one. And I just love it. All the devotionals in this series are similarly arranged. Each day's section starts out a general statement that summarizes the topic, then there's Scripture, sometimes combining passages from 2 or more books of the Bible, on the same theme. Then there is a selection from a Corrie Ten Boom book. Then there are a couple of questions to think about and a prayer. These can be easily completed in 10 minutes, but sometimes I linger on them and reread them. I usually do one per day, but sometimes they are so good I just want to do another one.

This book would be wonderful for any Christian desiring to grow in his or her walk with the Lord. It's also a good sampling of Corrie Ten Boom's writings. You'll probably want to get some of Corrie's books after reading this devotional. Her main story is told in The Hiding Place and Tramp for the Lord and then there are many other books that have short passages to read.

I would recommend this book for someone who wants to jump-start their devotional life (or it would make a great gift!). The reading isn't difficult and Corrie's writing is easy to understand, but very profound and meaningful at the same time.

I also recommend the movie "The Hiding Place".

Please read my other reviews of Christian books!

Great devotional readings
This book is a compliation of 40 daily devotional readings. Each devotional starts with a thought of the day, followed by a passage from the Bible pertaining to that topic for the day. There are also questions posed for you to think about, and a suggested prayer the reader could respond with.

What I liked about this devotional reading is the insights from Corrie ten Boom. She draws examples of how the Bible can be relevant in our everyday lives by recounting her own life experiences. Much of which was from her experience as a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps and her subsequent journey around the world to tell of God's faithfulness.

This book provides excerpts from her other books. It is great as a daily devotional guide. If you are interested in her story, however, I would highly recommend The Hiding Place and the sequel Tramp For the Lord.

Each New Day
Corrie ten Boom is timeless. We all need someone to look up to and Corrie is a wonderful mentor and inspiration to Christians everywhere. I have read this book several times and have purchased it for gifts as well. The reader will refer to it again and again and receive many blessings and great direction. Corrie always seems to touch on whatever is troubling you. You will not be disappointed. The Hiding Place which is the story of her life is also a wonderful book.

Each New Day Gets Better and Better
This book is very encouraging and uplifting! It gives one so much direction on how to live the life of a Christian, day to day. There are 365 devotions, as well as a short passage from Corrie, with relevant scriptures to match, and Corrie's prayer for the reader. There are so many examples Corrie uses from personal experience and each one of Corrie's books remain so anointed! There is a wealth of information in this book that brings us Corrie's lifetime of lessons. I hope this book will bring you the joy Corrie intended you to have, in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Corrie ten Boom - My Inspiration...
How wonderful to know how Corrie lived her last five years on earth. Her only goal in life was to bring others to Jesus, who she loved and lived for. Her relationship with Jesus and how she lived is something we should all strive for. What an inspirational book. It was like Corrie herself was talking to me. Though she is now in heaven God still uses her to speak to us.

Last days of Corrie ten Bonn
I had always wondered how Corrie ended her days on Earth. This book is a well written witness of how she overcame difficult situations in her last days and how she never stopped showing God's love, even when unable to speak. A must reading for all those who love Corrie's books and a message to cheer us during difficult times.

a tangible presence!
God was a tangible presence as I read through this book. It was sitting on a coffee table during a retreat I attended. I can't tell you how much it elevated my spirit and gave me hope. Corrie deals with questions/issues in short pieces; these entries come from her radio addresses, I believe. In this book Corrie gives guidance for all of the important questions of life. Do you have tough questions? Are you discouraged? Confused? Afraid? I was, and God really touched me through reading this. I have been wanting to buy the book ever since I looked throug it during my stay at the retreat many months ago. May this book sit on everyone's coffe tables! PS-An excellent complement to THE HIDING PLACE.

Learn from someone who loves God
In "Not I But Christ" Ten Boom shares some of her insight and wisdom that could only come from the Father. This book is set up like a devotional, but I read it like a novel. She asks questions that really make you ask yourself what you believe. I reccomend this book to anyone who is a Christian, or is interested in becoming a Christian. It really has helped me grow in my walk of faith.

The Hidding Place
I read this book several years ago after the loss of my first child, when I was doubting my faith in God. Ms. Boom is an amazing woman who has overcome many trials throughout her life. She gave me encouragement when I was going through a horrible time in my life. And showed me that there is always hope and to never give up on the most important thing of all GOD. I am so grateful to her for putting her life onto paper for the rest of us.

Thank you Ms. Boom!
