Best darned book this teen's ever read
I had the privilege of reading the first ever copy of The Best of Radio Free Bubba as it came from Pat"Bubba"Jobe's computer. This book had me rolling in a hurricane of laughter for two solid hours. I finally had to stop while the second half of the book printed, and I was afraid that if I didn't go to the bathroom soon, I would wet myself! I recommend this book to anyone who can read, including teens like myself. :)

A real pick-me-up on those "dark" days.
This book is a joy and delight. Of course it helps to be able to identify somewhat with down-home Southern culture, but most readers will be able to relate to the writers' wisdom and humor no matter where they're from.

At Last Real Bubbas!
Finally, the world can get to know some real "Bubbas." With the publication of "The Best of Radio Free Bubba" by the Hub City Writers Project, the South has unleashed a powerful force and sent it out to create havoc among the prejudiced. For those of us who have been listening for years to "Radio Free Bubba" on WNCW in Spindale, N.C., the book holds no surprises, just 170 pages of some of the best essays we've already heard by four writers who believe in people. Meg Barnhouse, Pat Jobe, Kim Taylor and Gary Phillips share their thoughts on everything from blister packs to making lists. The book's philosophy is summed up by a bumper sticker: "It's Not Up To Somebody Else." Here in the South, we know that "Bubba" is short for "Brother," or rather it's the sound small children make when they call to that older sibling who looks out for them, protects them and teases them. Bubba is the real "good ol' boy" who will haul your furniture in her pickup, pull your car out of the ditch with his tractor, take care of your children in times of distress, and pray for your body and soul.

Entertaining, interesting, and credible.
When the name "Big Thicket" is mentioned to about anyone in East Texas, huge trees with dew-dripping moss and dense underbrush come to mind. But after reading Wanda Landrey's BOARDIN' IN THE THICKET, all I can think of are good country recipes and amusing homespun stories.

Great recipes and history
Boardin in The Thicket is a "must have" for anyone wanting to put the country back in cooking.

Home cooking and boarderhouse history at its best!
In todays fast-paced world, it's refreshing to read a book such as Wanda Landrey's "Boardin' In the Thicket". In her book, Landrey recreates the ambiance of a time when people would sit on their porches and rock and weave a tale or two.

The Zach Files A Ghost Named Wanda
I liked this book because i thought it was funny. i also liked it because Zach the little boy acts just like me for example he explianed how he always had a messy room which really relates to me ,and his dad is always is worried well for me it's my mom who worries about me.

I think the worst part was when wanda the ghost met cecil the ghost and they got into a big argument. The only reason i dident like it was because it really dident go along with the moral of the story because Wanda liked to be messy and cecil was very neat and at the end they ended up living together in a haunted house.

I think that the most vivid parts to me were the the setting and the plot .The setting was easy to visualize and see .For an example when wanda messed up the appartment and put suran wrap under the tolite seat ,and the the food falling out of the refrigorator .The plot of the characters was easy to see also like Zach a en year old boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes was easy to see because i think the author Dan Grennburg did an excellent job explaning!!!

this book is a good book
I chose this book as my favorite book. This book it is funny. It funny because one time Zack was sleeping his room was clean but someone did it meessing. He clean it again. When he wet to brush his teeth it was meesing aging.

Scary Mess
I like this book because Zach is really funny and kind of scary and gives me the chills. I know how Zach feels because my sister messes up my room. I think you should read this book because it's a really great book. If you have a sister or brother that messes up your room you should read this book.

Excellent Choice
This book is great. I have read it over and over again. This is one of my favorite books.

I love this book!
This is my second book by the author Wanda Thomas. I love the way she writes a love story and also inform you about life matters. Her latest novel involves Starris Gilmore and Jordan Banks.

Starris has come from a terrible marriage and believes that she is unlovable to a man. Her ex-husband got a kick out of abusing her emotionally in front of their guest. In the process of healing she volunteered to help children. This is where she met a little girl that she now wants to adopt. In order to adopt she must have stable employment.

When Starris walks into Jordan's office for a job interview he knew that he could not hire her because he was sexually attracted to her.

Jordan has also come through a bad marriage. Jordan learns of a daughter that he didn't know he had until after his ex-wife is murdered. He vows never to give his love to another woman again. But once his path crosses with Starris, he vow is tested.

Will they get together? I love the way the author has all the characters playing a big part in telling this story. The girls were very funny in their schemes to get their parents together.

You will truly love this page turning story. I hope to see a story on Jordan's sister.

Truly touching love story in every sense!!
I loved it! This was my first book written by Wanda Thomas, but it will definitely not be my last!! Ms. Thomas has not only been added to my book list, but her books have become some of the top priorities. "Subtle Secrets" is not only about the love of a man and woman, Jordan Banks and Starris Gilmore, but it is about love of family. Life has dealt some hard blows to both Jordan and Starris, but each has been blessed with the love of a child -- Jolie Kathryn Banks and Danielle "Dani" Kathryn Carter. Ironically their lives are entwined in more ways than one.
Starris first encounters Jordan at her friend's home. Then, later meets face to face when Starris applies for a much needed job at ROBY, where Jordan is the director. From there, they discover that their daughters are best friends. Starris and Jordan's relationship at first is bumpy, but soon the bumps began to smooth out as they are constantly thrown together and can no longer deny their mutual feelings.
"Subtle Secrets" also gives the reader insight into the welfare adoption system. Dani may not be Starris' biological daughter, but Starris has all the love for Dani that a natural mother would have for her child. Dani's and Jolie's lives are entwined with similarities that cannot be ignored. They both were abandoned as infants at an orphanage. However, Jolie was blessed with the love of her father, Jordan, and his wonderful family. Dani was not so blessed until Starris came into her life, then all the love that Dani has kept bottled inside came pouring out to the only mother she had ever known - Starris.
"Subtle Secrets" is a touching, heartwarming, loving story about family, faith, trust, and caring. It's also about overcoming lack of trust and the old hurts from the past. Not only are the adults affected, but the children are also embroiled in old wounds from the past. However, true love will outweigh all ills and bring new joy.
Great read and I look forward to reading the other books written by Ms. Thomas. My next one to read will be Shelby's and Nelson's story, "Truly Inseparable."

Wonderful
I really loved this book. I picked it up and could not put it down until it was completed. This is not only a good love story but it also gives you a lesson on SIDS. The author really put her heart and research into this book.

I will recommend that everyone read this because it will really touch your heart.

Congrates to Wanda on a job well done.

Outstanding!
I've read this book several times because I was so touched with this unconditional love story. This couple faced one of the most difficult times of their lives and that's the loss of a child to Sudden Infant Crib Death. The author has done an outstanding performance in writing this story, every page of this book flowed so gracefully with the love and dealing with the loss. Even the secondary characters made this book good; the bookcover for once actually seems to match the description of the couple's love for one another. I strongly recommend to all the readers of romance to read this book, I will say you will not be disappointed by no means. Ms. Thomas, I look forward to your next one, because if you put the same spirit you did with this one, you will have many more fans!

A practical review from a non-romantic
While I am not an avid romance reader - if for no other reason than I am male- I found Truly Inseparable to easily hold my attention. It kept my interest throughout; wanting to know what happens to the characters next. The characters were well drawn and the storyline was tight. This is a great read for the romance enthusiast.

Oh to be Forgiven
For this author to write this book, it had to be ordained by God. Ms Harris was able to tell her secrets to help us realize that our God is a forgiving God. Even when we don't feel we deserve it, He keeps on blessing us over and over again. I had some doubts when I was asked to read this book. I really thought it would be another of one of these self righteous books about what you better do, how to do it and what is going to happen if you don't. Ms Harris told a story that I could find a lesson for myself and a lesson to witness to others. This is a book that I have been and will continue to recommend to those who feel the need to overcome shame, guilt and doubt.

A courageous act of love
Patricia Harris is a writer of unusual and spiritual vision. She has the natural ability to put every deed in context with the love of God. Personally, I was moved by the way she made me realize that I too was forgiven. Now, I can move on with my life and experience the joy of God's many blessings. This was a courageous act of love for mankind. Patricia approached a topic that is taboo; because of her courage, we all can identify with either one of the characters, yet walk away feeling good about ourselves and who we are as God's children. Imprisoned by Secrets of the Heart will also benefit men as well as women. If you have any doubt about God's love and forgiveness you must read this book. Many thanks to Patricia Harris for her insight and unselfish act of love.

It is God's will to see all of His children set free.
Patricia Harris has given me the hope that I've longed for and searched for in believing that I, too, can be free from the shame that has kept me in bondage since my early childhood. Her transparency in revealing the details of her shame and the way she portrays the forgiveness, mercy and redemption of our Heavenly Father will only draw you closer to Him, to a place where He can minister to your own wounds. After reading "Imprisoned by Secrets of the Heart," God began to open the prison doors of my own heart, and I am now in the process of walking off the chains that bind. This book may be a divine appointment for you... don't miss it!

One in a Million.....
"Once upon a time there was a very old man and a very old woman. They lived in a nice clean house which had flowers all around it, except where the door was. But they couldn't be happy because they were so very lonely..." So begins Wanda Gag's 1928 masterpiece, Millions Of Cats, and this little treasure is as fresh and appealing today, as it was almost 75 years ago. The old man, wanting to make his wife happy, sets out to find her a cat. He travels far and wide until he comes to a hill covered with cats. "Cats here, cats there,/Cats and kittens everywhere,/Hundreds of cats,/Thousands of cats,/Millions and billions and trillions of cats." But which one should the old man choose to take home with him? Just as he picks out one pretty kitty, he spies another he can't leave behind and then another, and on and on until soon he's bringing all "those hundreds and thousands and millions and billions and trillions" of cats home with him..... Ms Gag's engaging text begs to be read aloud, and youngsters will revel in "helping" you read the entertaining singsong refrain over and over again. Her charming black ink illustrations are filled with marvelous detail that captures the story beautifully. Perfect for kids 3-7, Millions Of Cats is a timeless classic to read and share now with family and friends, and with future generations in the years to come.

A Cat Lover's Dream
This charming book was written in 1928 and has delighted people ever since. Captain Kangaroo first read it to me sometime in the early 1950s and I credit it with my lifelong love of cats, ( I don't have millions but I do have ten!) Wanda Gag's truly unique illustrations capture the surprising situation that arises when a very old man and a very old woman realize they can't be happy because they are lonely. The very old woman wishes for a cat and her loving husband sets off to oblige her. Something of a CATastrophe ensues! The story delivers a sweet message and is sure to become a lifelong favorite for you as it has for me. Please don't miss it!

MILLIONS OF CATS
Millions of Cats Book Review

Millions of Cats is a funny story by Wanda Ga'g. It is all about an old lady who wants a cat so she sends her husband to get one When he gets
back, he has millions! I liked the part when the cats drink all of the water from the river. When the husband says, "Who is the prettiest?" They all say, "I am". I think that is funny. I liked the pictures too. Find out what cat they get when you read Millions of Cats.

Corporate Sponsor
Published in Paperback by Buy Books on the web.com (2000)
Author: Wanda Moorman
Amazon base price: $19.95
Average review score:

What does it take to get ahead?
Office romance, backstabbing, promotions and firings, Wanda Moorman's novel Corporate Sponsor has it all. Kimberly Keaton is a woman who is committed to her job and has a strong work ethic. Lately, she has been becoming more and more stressed, not because of her workload but rather because of the work environment at Stapleton Enterprises.

This book has a fresh plot and was an enjoyable read. Corporate Sponsor highlighted some of the difficulties that African American women and women in general encounter when working in a corporate environment. In addition, we learn about the personal lives of many of the characters as they develop friendships and intimate relationships. Although there were a number of important characters in this book, the author did a wonderful job developing each character just enough so that we understood their role in the book and without going too far.

This book has a little something for everyone from romance to deceit. The author does such a wonderful job of drawing you in to the story that you will keep turning pages to find out how everything is resolved. I highly recommend Corporate Sponsor and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I liked the ending-Good Guys Win Again.
I'm one that likes the bad guys to get what they deserve and the good guys to come out getting the gold. And I also like to know who the bad guys are in a story. Ms Moorman did a good job in both areas. I really liked the storyline. Kim took a lot. She was cool and very classy. I had to keep remembering it was not a romance novel. I was wanting her to get the man too (smile) But that's fine. Most writer's fill books with alot of un-needed stuff and it was nice breezing through a book without having to cool myself down. (smile) I got a chance to read this book via my reading group. So I passed it on with recommendations. It was a fast read for a big book but then again, I didn't put it down until I finished it. GOOD JOB MS. Moorman and I look forward to your next book passing on to me! We are just getting started as a group and it fun! Hope to read more from you soon!

Nice comfortable read
I enjoy a book that makes me feel like I'm just sitting there hearing a story(gossip actually--smile). I felt like I worked in that office or like maybe I was a temp and was checking out all the goings ons. I was attracted to Kim myself. She was the kind of woman that you follow with your eyes. Sohpisticated etc... unlike that stank one. Even though I'm sure that woman gets what she wants most of the time too. The story took off evenly and stayed pretty even throughout. I was introduced to this writer with this book and now I will probably go back and read In His Ex Wife's Shadow. I do think the characters didn't really know how to relax. They seemed kinda reserved most of the time. But then that's just me I guess. I mean, I wanted Kim to get a little sexier after hours but when I got the book from a friend, I was told that the story would NOT GO THERE. So Frankly, I thought I would be bored, but I wasn't. It had enough meat to keep me, without all of that. So Ms. Moorman, I liked it. And good for you!
