Not enough stars for this poem
This poem is a fascinating example of the poetic genius of Poe. While it is often thought of as a poem for younger readers, anyone who appreciates the subtle tragedy that is Poe will be deeply moved by this piece - in fact, only a muture reader can fully appreciate all of its' complexity. A must for any fan of Poe, good poetry, American literature, or just plain good writing. Furthermore, you don't have to be a scholar to appreciate this one. Its' appeal is universal, and its' understandability is high. It's just a darn good read.
excellent
this is one of poe's greatest poems. there is so much love in his words for his wife (who the poem was intended for but he changed her name to Annabel Lee). A must read!

Au clair de la Lune, mon ami Simon...
With a good rhythm and a simple text, Gilles Tibo introduces us to the worries of the little Simon who sees his beloved moon disappearing... Will he be able to save the moon? The young ones will love this book which translates so well the emotional turmoils of a 3 to 4 years old boy.
The text is simple and short and thus readable by young readers.
The illustrations are beautiful and translate the story really well. The graphic evolution of the moon is obvious throughout the book and shows well the moon cycle, a good pedagogic opportunity. This is also an excellent book to use in English as a foreign language classes. The illustrations are good support material that can be accompanied by the acting of a parent or of an instructor.
The intervention of Pierrot is also a good opportunity to introduce, if it's not already done, his very popular song "Au clair de la Lune, mon ami Pierrot..."

Sweet, Simple Book about the Phases of the Moon...
Young Simon notes that the moon is changing, and with his friend Marlene he tries to 'rescue' the moon. When it disappears, he writes the moon a poem, and watches as the moon returns.
This is a sweet, simple book about a boy who is fascinated with the waning moon. The text is easy and has an almost lyrical quality which is enhanced by the artwork. The illustations are magical with a full-size colour page on each right hand side, and on the left a small frame of the same pulls together the text and pictures.
A wonderful book for children who are naturally drawn to the moon, as many children are (my three year old son among them!). A good book for those families who celebrate the lunar cycle.

A Major Step For Our Anglo-Saxon Society...
Robert Munsch should be praised for tanscending the typical depictions of God in our society. Through depicting God as a little black girl, Munsch expounds the stereotypical images of God within our society. This book has great literary value for children and adults of all ages and colours. If you promote the current attempts to alter the images of white superiority within children's literature give this book a read! Thank you Munsch, your book represents a large step towards equality within our anglo-saxon society.

The Cowboy Kid
A story about a boy who roams the streets of the city in reality but in his imagination he's a cowboy in the Wild West. One day his dreams come true and a beautiful horse appears to him and takes him on a magical trip. Wonderful story about imagination and the power it has to transport you. The illustrations (many 2 full pages) are stunning.
