BEHIND THE RED DOORS links three extraordinary shops that market scent, jewels and lingerie. Through these doors wishes come true. These searing tales should not be reserved just for Valentine's Day. Indeed, readers who enjoy anthologies with a united theme and story line will absolutely treasure BEHIND THE RED DOORS.

Door #1 - "Heaven Scent" by Vicki Lewis Thompson
In an innovative marketing ploy, customers uncomfortable browsing have the option to use computer kiosks to order their favored items and pick them up on their way out the door. To ascertain men's preferences and offer suggestions to shoppers, Jamie Ruskin asks long time friend and secret crush Dev Sherman to fill out a questionnaire. Certain his sister is somehow involved, Dev gives opposite answers, never suspecting that Jamie will use his own answers against him. The result is a sizzling, yet playful romp that combines erotic fantasy and aromatherapy in a sent-sational combination.

Door #2 - "Diamond Mine" by Stephanie Bond
Valentine's Day went desperately wrong between Faith Sherman and Carter Grayson when she expected more than just a friendly dinner. When a diamond on loan requires increased security, Carter reenters her life. Only this time he claims a fiancé and soon Faith finds herself recommending diamonds for someone else. Bond's characteristic flair for combining romance and humor truly sparkles.

Door #3 - "Sheer Delights" by Leslie Kelly
Conned into a photography session by her cousin, schoolteacher Meg O'Roarke becomes an inadvertent sexy model for lingerie. Her gasp of shock when she sees her body plastered on the store's kiosk screen brings an unexpected rescuer. But Joe Santori will be hard pressed to explain that the lingerie hanging in his closet was for her-a fantasy woman he had not even met. Kelly's dynamic storytelling ability truly results in an unexpectedly sheer delight.

Red Doors offers the hottest Valentine's Day you could want!
Red Doors is by far the best Valentine's anthology I've read. Funny, fast paced, steamy, these three stories have it all. Yet each stands fully on its own. My personal favorite was Sheer Delights but they were all entertaining. Very sexy heroes!! I can't wait to read these authors again.

I picked up this book one day to kill some time...
Now I'm taking the time to find/buy the other books in this series because it was so great! I cant wait to read more! I loved it! It was definately different and a lot more interesting than the average "romance" novel and it was so different that you could swear it was a true story. Do yourself a favor and get the whole series.

Super read! A Great new mini-series!

what a treat...
I thoroughly enjoyed this book -- the characters were well-defined -- and what a sense of humor! I hated to see the book end.

The serial fiancé -- Very highly recommended
Ten minutes before the processional, groom Mark O'Grady decides that he can't get married -- again. This time it was because his bride-to-be was addicted to cellular technology. Before that one was a shopaholic, another nags, another only exhibits interest in ancient languages, and the first of the jilted fiancées hates camping. None of his friends except Sam, the best man, will show up for the ceremony anymore. His mother even refuses the invitations!

Mark really does want to get married; it's divorce he's trying to avoid. So he takes Sam's advice about looking for his next bride. He places an ad in Texas Men. Sam reasons that Mark keeps getting engaged to the wrong women because they are beautiful, so naturally he has sex with them. Except under his wild exterior, Mark is really an old fashioned kind of guy. He thinks that once he's had sex with a woman, he has to marry her. So this time they place the ad, sort through the responses, and Mark corresponds with the prospective lady -- for a long time.

Six months later, after a three-month correspondence, Charlie McPherson eagerly plans to meet Mark. She has decided to change her image, however, going for the siren look. She's tired of the low maintenance, wholesome image she ordinarily portrays. This time she intends to experience unbridled passion and searing ecstasy. Since that's exactly opposite of what Sam encourages in Mark, events promise to get very interesting!

Falling in love was never so much fun! Especially when a rapid courtship leads to a wedding proposal, and the ladies in purple T-shirts arrive to warn Charlie of Mark's nefarious past. With DOA for Damn O'Grady's Ass plastered across their T-shirts and the date of the termination of the wedding plans, these ladies mean business. They have formed a support group, meeting once a month to "talk, drink wine, eat take-out, play Uno, trash Mark." So the question remains if Charlie is at last the woman Mark's looking for, or if she's the next member of the DOA support group!

EVERY WOMAN'S FANTASY demonstrates the sensual, exquisite pleasure of meeting one's soul mate, degenerating into every woman's nightmare when the DOA arrive! Hysterically addictive and divine, EVERY WOMAN'S FANTASY fulfills every romance reader's most serious demands, including madcap fun, a tender love story, and the perfect ending. Very highly recommended!

The Best Ever
I love both of these books. I wish they would hurry up and translate some more, already!! I discovered them by accident and am finding myself giving them to all my friends. They are funny, silly, and wonderfully surreal, and totally satisfying. I keep reading them over again.

In Harum Scarum, I am reminded of Blood Music, the book where some strange scientific experiment goes waaaay out of control. Except this is much less nihilistic, and in fact the story goes totally over the top in just the right way. It's a kind of anti-Scooby Doo thing: instead of pulling the mask off of old man Carlson -- aw, you gotta read it yourself. I loved it. It was hilarious, a total find.

The plot tightens
What makes a comic book a chef-d'oeuvre ? Suspense ? Action ? Humour ? Pretty pictures ? Witty dialogues ? Well, everything and much more appears in Harum Scarum, by one of the best European cartoonists. - The scene takes place in France at the beginning of the century. The someday-famous McConey, a naive student, is unwillingly attracted in zillions of adventures : he'll meet a mad scientist, an ambitious journalist, a rather curious police officer, as well as burglars, snipers, lizard-looking monsters, time-travel machines, terrorists and so on. Amazingly enough, this all makes sense in Trondheim's World, where characters never lose neither their self-control nor their sense of humour. This book may please children of every age, and also adults (even more, maybe) : there's MUCH more in this comic book than in an usual cartoon. You'll be amazed !

What a find
Although I didn't like this one as much as Harum Scarum, it was still pretty fabulous. I found these books in a comic store and bought them on a whim (I go into comic stores about once every five years, and usually don't buy anything). They were every bit as satisfying as Tintin or Asterix were when I was twelve! Only better. These books are silly, funny, raunchy, and impossible to describe. The characters are wonderfully fallible, and the plots are totally off-the-wall, without being impossibly surreal.

In the Hoodoodad, you're never sure if there really IS a curse on the cool rock that they find. The guy who finds it is convinced, but it's not until the story takes a few twists that you really believe him. And of course his friends are no help; they're too busy being rude to each other in that laddish, fin de siecle slacker sort of way. It's hilarious.

The best of European comix
Lewis Trondheim renews European comic book tradition, mixing animal-like characters such as Walt Disney's, English humor and French-Belgian style. In this album, the famous rabbit McConey faces a strange spelled rock. He and his friends run from one problem to another, but never lose their sense of humor. They'll meet amazing people such as Wilfried, the painter who don't want his pictures to be seen (he wouldn't be reincarnated as long as someone remembers him), the crazy director of the Museum and an all-around magician (voodoo, African wizard, Shaman, astrologist - you name it !) Most funny and witty indeed ! - No sex, no violence, no explicit text, but I wouldn't call it a book for children anyway : their parents may like it more than they would. And what's exciting is that Lewis Trondheim has got many other comic books waiting for a translation !

Absolutely The Funniest Book I Ever Read!
I like romatic comedies, and this one is the best. It made the rounds
of the women in the office where I used to work, and all gave it a
thumbs up!

Lynn and Tony are both lawyers in the same office. Lynn
needs an unsuitable fiance to unite her parents in opposition to
defuse their upcoming divorce. Buttoned down Tony becomes bad boy
Tony, complete with cigarette pack in rolled up T-shirt sleeve.

The
scenario in the airport where Tony carries Lynn's mother into the
Ladies Room after she passes out and deposits her rear in one basin
and feet in another is a scream. However, the makeout scene in the
back seat of a car is a close second....

Absolutely Perfect!
Vicki Lewis Thompson did a wonderful, wonderful job with this book. It was action, humor, and excitement from page one! Laughters and tons of sexual attraction between Lynn and Tony all the way. I felt it was a very colorful book. It's definitely one of the best L&L I've read in a long time!

Winner of the WordWeaving Award for Excellence
After ten years of college, Alec Masterson is working on his fifth choice of a major and paying the bills by working as chauffer. Little does he suspect that his favorite client, Molly Drake, has him starring both in her fantasies and in her latest novel. Then Alec's actions as a Good Samaritan result in his being late to pick Molly up for an extremely important train ride into the city. Consequently, he offers to drive her from her home in Connecticut to her appointment in New York City. Anticipating good news regarding her latest literary venture, Molly says she hopes they will have something to celebrate on the way home.

A successful career ghostwriting cozy mysteries has Molly longing to have her own name on a book spine. Shifting genres, Molly pens a sensual romance. Unfortunately, her editor rejects her effort, suggesting she needs to get beyond her contrived and stilted sex scenes. Stunned and more than a little disappointed, Molly decides she needs practical experience. Soon Alec offers to help her "research" and they begin what believe to be a fling. It does not take long for them to drive each other wild!

Once again Vicki Lewis Thompson pens an absolutely sizzling romance in DRIVE ME WILD. Thompson's gift for bringing together opposites who refuse to compromise their intrinsic identities allows her characters to embrace their differences and revel in their individuality in a story where everyone wins. Moreover, Thompson breaks new ground as Molly and Alec daringly indulge their wildest fantasies, which could easily result in her fans rushing to the local video camera department. Indeed, Molly and Alec's naughty escapades will certainly inspire the most jaded of readers! This amusing romantic romp is filled with sensuality and sexuality while still providing a marvelous plot that really keeps the pages turning. DRIVE ME WILD earns the WordWeaving Award for Excellence.

Wit and simmering sex from two romance stars!
This collection is a Harlequin two-for-one book (...).

The first book, Full Bloom by Jayne Ann Krentz, is a reprint of one of her short contemporaries (55,000 words or so) from 1987. If you never read it, it is one of her better works of that genre and well worth having.

Emily Ravenscroft is tired of her rich, domineering parents overseeing her every move. And she is equally tired of the interference of Jacob Stone, the tough, sexy troubleshooter her family has sent after her for years to make sure she stays out of trouble. Jacob has been extremely attracted to Emily since the day he met her, but as far as he's concerned, she is strictly off-limits as the daughter of his employers. Unfortunately for his determined vow, Emily has recently decided she is tired of being dutiful, and fiercely protests when her parents sic Jacob on her once again. She doesn't want Jacob as a watchdog, she wants him for a lover, and this go-round, she's determined to change the status quo.

This sprightly book is full of Krentz's trademark, witty sparring between an ultra-masculine, independent hero and a feisty, determined woman. I love the way the two of them battle each other, are equally stubborn and intelligent, and the way all of these elements together make for very hot sex. However, the sex is, thank goodness, also very loving. You can count on Krentz to never dump a hero and heroine into sordid, "let me use you for a while" sex. Her powerful protagonists are always discriminating lovers with strong ethics of generosity and loyalty.

The second book, Compromising Positions by Vicki Lewis Thompson, is a brand-new contribution to her lucky fans. Thompson has written a lot of short contemporaries, and this book definitely fits into that category being about 55,000 words or so. She has a strong feel for the requirements of this popular subgenre of romance, and always respects her fans by lovingly crafting her books.

Mick Farrell has been in business only one week with a brand-new bodyguard business, and he is desperate to get it off the ground. While waiting around for the phone to ring, his younger sister's best friend, Stacy Radcliffe, shows up. She wants to be his assistant, but Mick has no intention of hiring her. He's always been attracted to the beautiful, lively Stacy, but he has no desire to get romantically involved with a woman who shares every tidbit of her life with his baby sister! Unfortunately, his well-laid plans are thrown into a cocked-hat when a former lover of his shows up needing his professional services. As much as he needs her business, the lady is a tiger, obviously after far more personal attention than money can buy from poor Mick. Suddenly he decides he's going to need a bodyguard of his own to ward off the predatory woman, and Stacy is just what he needs to fill the bill.

This story is an excellent pairing with the Krentz book. Like Krentz, Thompson is excellent at getting a story off to a running start. Stacy and Mick collide by page three, begin to strike sparks, and don't stop blazing until the very end. They are a very good match for each other, each attractive, intelligent, ambitious, forthright, more than a little brash, and looking for work they can really sink their teeth into. Of course, work isn't the only thing they want to gnaw on! These two are a combustible combination serving up lots of exciting love scenes.

Not all double books are worth the extra cost, but I don't believe you'll be sorry if you give this one a try.

Sexy and emotionally satisfying
Rancher Noah Garfield can't visit Las Vegas without thinking about sex--and when he thinks about sex, he thinks about Keely Branscom. She was the bad girl he wanted growing up--the one who he managed to resist when she was 16 and too young, but who then posed for a centerfold and left home. He can't believe it when he sees her in Las Vegas and resolves to do everything he can to save her.

Keely has never forgiven Noah for spurning her advances at 16, and this is her chance for revenge. She'll treat him to a weekend of sex he'll never forget, then move on with her life. At least she doesn't have to return to the dreary and conservative land of ranches and nosy people. The one thing she can't risk, though, is falling in love with Noah--again. But surely she's out of that now--isn't she?

Author Vicki Lewis Thompson writes a sexy story. Noah promises himself that he'll keep his hands off the beautiful Keely, but he doesn't have a chance when Keely turns up the heat--and boy does she turn up the heat. A Vegas wedding adds to the emotional impact of the moment as both Keely and Noah review their thoughts on what marriage means and their hopes or fears for their own future. NOTORIOUS was the launch book for Harlequin's BLAZE series--and it delivers both the sexy premise (he thinks she's a topless dancer and possibly a prostitute) and follow-through that BLAZE is built around.

BEST OF THE BEST
Blaze picked the perfect book to launch its new series. I have two copies of this book as a failsafe in case I ever misplace one! To be honest, I haven't read a romance novel since which has measured up to the anticipation, passion, and satisfaction that this book offered. The prequel story in Midnight Fantasies about sister BJ is wonderful as well.

hot!hot!hot!
Excellent Blaze. Highly Recommended. Keely is such a wonderful character. It's nice to see the heroine corrupt the hero for a change. Noah is a fab hero. The sexual tension between these two is so high that when they finally have sex it's hot!hot!hot! Thanks Vicki, thanks Harlequin. Would love to read more like this. (...)

Red-Hot Romantic Comedy
TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY is a great romantic comdey filled with hot scenes that scorch the pages! Ten years ago Dustin and Erica have an unsatisfying encounter in the back seat of his pickup truck. Now they have a chance to prove to each other (and themselves) that much has improved over the years. They truly find heat in that back seat once again. Definitely one for the "keeper" shelf.

sexy sexy sexy
Can I say that I was so turned on while reading this book? well whatever it was great...men has their [adult films]...us women has books like this. ok I told the truth.

Scorching sensuality -- Very highly recommended
Dustin Ramsey has never forgotten that night, ten years ago, in the back of his Mustang one warm April. Embarrassed by his abysmal performance, Dustin had slunk away and not called again. Now he has hired a private investigator to find Erica Mann, the girl he could not forget. She now publishes a highly successful newsletter that provides an opportunity for them to meet again. But what he really wants, more than her writing skills, is an opportunity to make up for a teen's impatient backseat mistakes.

Erica still remembers that night in high school when she had been virginal and fumbling. With a bit more knowledge, she might have turned quick on the trigger into a treasured memory. So when Dustin calls with a business proposition, Erica is floored. She had started Dateline: Dallas on a dare and only intended to publish until her dream job as an investigative reporter appears. But Dustin's reappear in her life threatens her priorities, her desires, and her heart.

The first of the Truelood, Texas continuity, TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY sizzles with sexual tension and erotic love scenes that truly satisfy. Erica and Dustin struggle to reconcile the memories of the past with their desires of the present. Their evocative struggles demonstrate the author's understanding of powerful motivation and fear of vulnerability. With TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY, Vicki Lewis Thompson once again demonstrates her dazzling gift for creating sensual romance and extraordinary passion that readers have come to expect from this talented author. Very highly recommended.
