Excellent to the point book aimed at educating teachers
This is the first guide I have ever found aimed at educating teachers about higher functioning autism and asperger's syndrome. Aimed primarily at Junior High, High School, and College teachers. As a parent I found it accurate and full of extremely helpful ideas for educators. I am making sure each of my daughters teachers read it as it sheds light on the education problems that follow my daughter. This book will give educators information they can easily use and incorporate into their classrooms to help these adolescents be successful. Even includes social interaction information. I loved it.

A wounderful book full delicous meals heary or light!
This book is truley amazing! My husband will not eat dinner without meat. My daughter will only eat chicken. And my son is allergic to Veal. You might see my dellema now. I could never find any meals that the entire family would enjoy. Until I found this book. You will adore it from the start. We live near amish neighborhood, because we live out in the country. Who said that these are resipies they have been enjoying fro years! At first I thought nothing would work for my family but I tried it any way and found it to have the most popular dishes in the house! We use this book for dinners at least 4 times a week! My family adores this book and so will yours.

Great Book..Loved It
I did find some of the recipes were a bit hard, but all in all, I had fun trying to make them all. I am not very good at it, but I have always wanted to learn what my Grandmother could do. I have since become pretty good at canning and jelly making. The recipes are very accurate ingredient wise, but make sure you read the directions before starting. It can get confusing..but if you read it twice it makes sense. I am in Japan right now, so haven't had a chance to try them all as I need some ingredients I can't get here. Buy this book...your family will love you for it, and it saves money! You no longer have to buy jelly for $3 at the grocery store.

Home Baking!
No need for a bread machine with these recipes! Simple, down to earth, and best of all....Delicious! There is no substitute for the home made taste of fresh baked bread and muffins. These recipes are simple to follow, and easy to make. The Potato Bread recipe is my personal favorite, but then again, mmm love those bran muffins also!

LOTS OF OLD FASHIONED GOODNESS ON THESE PAGES!
I ordered several of these small pamplet-like cookbooks and was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful recipes inside. Many excellent cream and fruit pie recipes with that special taste you can't buy at the grocery store. Easy to read and no nonsense. Lots of goodness (and recipes) in a small book.

Silly Teenaged stuff
This book was a gosh-golly-gee whiz book with no substance. Notworth my time, certainly. It was nothing more than Everly fanmail. These people do NOT walk on water!

soft sell; superficial
Having read the book and knowing some of the facts this is a very traditional writing of facts well known. Of course the Everly's are not ones to be very open, but better research could have been available. Years of abusenot even touched upon

Phil & Don
This is a fascinating story of family and the pop culture of America. Filled with interviews, quotes, and photos, the book documents the move of Ike and Margaret Everly from the coal mines of Kentucky to Chicago and throughout the Midwest in search of success in the music business, as well as the successes and personal pain of their sons. A must read for fans of rock and roll, social historians, and Everly fans. I loved it, couldn't put it down, and had to have my own copy. Phil and Don are presently touring every year and play in their parents' hometown every Labor Day weekend. Like their story, the music never grows stale.

A disappointment
Hard to believe this collection in 32 pages is really based on Amish ways. While I am not Amish and don't know a whole lot about their goings on, I find it hard to believe Pineapples (required in at least a couple recipes) grow in Ohio/Pennsylvania (or is their an Amish family living in Hawaii?). Some recipes called for orange and Strawberry jello, commercially prepared mayonaise, and a freezer (to store pickles in). This leads me to think the authors know less than I do about the Amish.

Fun small book
I have to disagree with the previous review. Growing up in PA Dutch Country and spending 42 years there, more than 30 of them cooking these foods, I think this book is a fair representation. Lots of PA Dutch recipes use commercial mayonnaise and Jello (look in any amish/pa dutch/mennonite cookbook and you'll find salads made with Jello). We're not living in the dark ages anymore! Pineapples are available in almost every grocery store and the amish DO have refrigeration. All in all, I'd say this book was worth the money.

Excellent small jam book
The bulk of the jams in the book are simple and quick( relatively) to prepare.

The directions are easy to follow and written at the level any begineer cook could follow. Most of the ingredients are easy to find (and you'd have most on hand probably if you were making Jam anyway).
