This book is very very straightforward and very helpful to help any one pick up these lovely soft words of the mennonites and ukranian farmers. :) Having ukranian in my distant members of family and my family having a circle of mennonite friends, this is a very good tool for picking up this lovely language. It's very diffacult to find a book about low land german or "Plattdeutsch" as it is called. :)

This book, written by the editor of "Truckers News," is full of color pictures of every shape & size of truck. It is the history of the first steam driven trucks up to the modern day country crossing giants of the highway.

It does not stint on pictures, and the quality of priniting/paper is good. However, it is not just a "glossy" book - the text is well researched, well written and informative. A great addition to anyone's library on trucking as well as a suitable book for someone with only a passing interest in trucks & trucking.

I took interest in the amish lifestyle visiting an amish area in Indiana. I bought Langins book in order to outweight the popular and tourist atmosphere there. And the book sure did that.

By now I have red the book twice and it is on my top ten of books you just need to read. Langin stayed with the amish and this book is a personal experience of amish farmlife mixed with detailed descibtions on the anabaptist history. His knowledge of the swiss german language adds a little extra to the book.

In short - my favourite
