a beautiful story of a boy and his dog
We euthanized our dog due to illness two weeks before Christmas. Our oldest was worried that his dog friend would not go to heaven like people do. Just like the angel in the book, he stated that he didn't want to go to heaven if Ben wasn't there. Good old "Santa" brought this book and our boys were very relieved. It is must have for any child who loves a pet. The wording tends to be "adultish" but you can bring it down to a child's level. The boys especially love how the "tough" angels help the little angel find and keep his dog. This book has brought many tears to our eyes but it has also brought smiles and peaceful dreams of animal friends that are waiting in heaven.

A must for animal lovers everywhere!
I collect children's stories, and just loved this book. The pencil and watercolor art is lovely and has a dreamlike quality, but what I like best is the story line. The story will appeal to all of us who have ever lost a pet that we dearly loved. The story is unashamedly sentimental and is not for the cynical at heart. It's a real 2-hanky tale.

Even better than the classic, The Littlest Angel:
In a world where war and homeless orphans of those wars abound, this book offers a timeless message of hope. This one is destined to become the next Christmas classic.

Heavenly Review
Not only did I enjoy this book, but so did my daughter, and the residents at the assisted living facility I work in. I have now read the book three times; Once to myself, outloud to my daughter, and to an entranced audience of a dozen senior citizens. We all give it five stars.

The author paints a picture of heavenly delight without being critical or using any scare tactics. For being a religious subject, it is handled with such delicacy that even nonbelievers will enjoy the stories.

It answers many questions children have about heaven with such simple answers. From now until eternity I know this will be how I will picture heaven in my mind's-eye, and a delightful picture that is.

Some of the words are large and gave me an opportunity to increase my 9 year old's vocabulary. However the line of the story is very easy to follow. The elders I read to appreciated the fact that it was easy to follow but did not belittle their intelligence.

All of us hope that a multitude of more stories will follow these. It leaves you wanting to know more.

The world would be a better place if everyone would read this and truly believe that good deeds are rewarded with pennies in heaven.

A classic Christmas story.
This children's book about a young angel in heaven has long been regarded as a classic. It is one of the all-time best sellers of children's books here in the U.S. The story was read over the radio and I heard it as a child in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The little angel, who is acting like all little boys, has to come up with a present for the newly born baby Jesus. It is a beautiful Christmas story and every mischievous boy can relate to this littlest angel. I really find it hard to understand to understand the comments of the 1998 reviewer from Oroville. All children who have to provide gifts for friends or relatives have a hard time coming up with ideas. The littlest angel is no different.

Touching - the child brings a gift we can all share
This is a poignant book for children who need to know that they and their selected possessions are special. It is a story to remind us all of what true gifts are.

It has been my favorite Christmas book for 50 years and I read it each Holiday season and never make it through without a few tears.

We all need to feel like a small clumsy child as we look at the new born King.

Excellent!! Excellent!! Excellent!!
THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE BOOK ILLUSTRATED BY PAUL MICICH.

While researching various books for my 22 mo old daughter, I decided to purchase this book based on the reviews that I had read. I have never heard of this story (I'm 39) and found the reviews very fascinating. After receiving the book and reading it, I'm thrilled that I decided to purchase it. Although the story is too long for her to sit through it's entirety at the moment, the pictures themselves are SO worthy a shortened version of the story. A beautifully depicted heaven and the antics of a little cherub create a wonderful mixture of humor and wonderment. And finally, the gift of love for Christmas - what better way to share the true meaning of Christmas than His acceptance of a gift for the newborn Jesus given freely and honestly as only a child can give - a small box of the little boy's most priceless treasures. A true Christmas classic.
