A Wonderful Book!
This is a fantastic book. The artwork is simply beautiful - enchanting, actually - and the Bible stories are told in a simple yet engaging style. For the last year, my 3 1/2 year old has consistently asked for this book far more than any others. We read it every night before going to bed, and it is the first thing he asks for in the morning. He repeatedly tells us it is his favorite book.

Bible in Pictures '80's printing editions
Excellent book. The artwork is incredible. I remember the pictures from 20+ years ago. I lost my childhood copy so I was thrilled when I could replace it with one that looked exactly like the one I had. This is an excellent book for younger children because of the short stories(only one paragraph) and the artwork tells so much of the story too. It takes the bible and puts it at a level a little one can understand. There are even questions at the end of each story so you can talk about it with your little ones.

Wonderful book for parents to share with children
I too am an adult who loved this book as a child. I still have my 20+ year old copy to save for my children! I remember my mom would read one story per night. We would then talk about the story and answer the questions at the end together. The pictures are also quite beautiful and are still very helpful to visual learners like myself.

This is a good book...
But you need to have a few comercial plug-ins and this means spend money, instead of this you can learn many tricks other people learn with experience and time. I really don't know if the book isn't good enoght or 3D Studio is very incomplete, filling the holes with expensive IPAS.

3d Studio &Hollywood Gaming Effects
First of all, I want to say that I'm from Sweden, so please be indulgence with my language. I've read the magnificant book of 3d Studio & Hollywood Gaming Effects. I used both 3d Studio and 3D max for the tutorials, and I was quite impressed. The book is based on examples and tutorials, made by pros'. The examples in the book are very detailed, and are understandble, even for an amateur like me. And the best thing is that, if you dont understand what they're talking about, just put in the CD-Rom (that comes with the book) find the chapter for the example, and run it. There you have it, step by step, all the exaples in the book on the CD-Rom are explained on the CD-Rom too. A book for both amateurs and proffesionals, that increase the flexibilaty you need to become a graphic artist. And even if you're using 3d Max, the examples in the book - and on the CD-Rom - works properly. Since Max and Studio are based on the same system. The examples in the books are well illustrated, and the layout makes it very easy to find and read. You learn new things every time you browse through the book. And just by watching the exapmles on the CD-Rom, you can load a project - and go through it - see for your self how it's build. And in that way learn some useful hints & tricks. A low cost educational book, that you can get useful hints & tricks from, that you cant get from anywhere else. As I said, my English is bad. I sometimes can't find a way to express my feelings in words. But it is a good book. I rated the book with a 9. Now that, is self explained. Happy rendering, Your Friend In The Jungle Of 3D.

3D Effects For The Experts By The Experts
When I first picked this book up I was expecting it to be another book on teaching the beginner how to do simple effects. I could never have been so wrong. Starting at an advanced level, the book assumes you not only have lots of experience with 3D Studio, but some additional software tools as well. Then, it shows you, in detail, how to create certain effects, all of which can be easily adapted to your scenes. Some of the effects include overlaying your animation with video so that it 'fits' together, or extended use of 'Bones Pro' and 'MetaBall Modelers'(which are plug-ins for 3D Studio) to create organic models.

For beginners, I recommend "3D Studio Special Effects/Book and Cd Rom" while this book is more for users with a solid grip on 3D Studio.

The Genesis Solution
Published in Paperback by Baker Book House (1989)
Authors: Kenneth Ham, Paul S. Taylor, and Ken Ham
Amazon base price: $9.99
Used price: $6.89
Buy one from zShops for: $8.08
Average review score:

An important book but does not adequately address science.
Ham makes a rather good *spiritual* argument for rejecting the evolutionists' ideas about how we got here, but he never truly argues on scientific grounds. On tough questions, he remains sketchy at best and unconvincing or even mistaken at the worst.

I actually already believe that the Bible is the single most authoritative source of our knowledge about the Earth's formation and life's beginnings, but this book did little to reinforce my arguments other than state the obvious: namely, that if the Biblical foundations for our beliefs in Creation are eroded, then all of Christianity is on very shakey ground.

This foundational argument is, of course, important, but if you are looking for answers and explanations for questions that any intellectually honest person should struggle with (e.g., What about the dinosaurs?, Why vestigal organs?, Whence Cain's wife?, etc.), this book leaves you unsatisfied. It's also liberally illustrated with hokey pictures that do nothing to enhance Ham's argument and everything to make the book look more like Children's fiction.

In short, buy this book if you are a Christian who is struggling with just how much emphasis the Bible puts on Creation and whether or not it is important enough a question to matter much in our doctrinal views (and it is.) Don't buy this book if you are looking for a tool to enhance your arguments for Creation science. It will not help you there.

You Just Thought You Believed in Evolution
Ken Ham gives very simple, easy to understand answers to many questions dealing with creation and evolution. You want answers? Ken Ham's got'em.

Excellent Overview.
This book provides an excellent overview of an alternative to evolution. If you only know one side of an argument, how do you know you are on the right one? Use this as a concise reference to proceed into other books with greater depth and focus.

Glenn Haege's Complete Hardwood Floor Care Guide: How to Refinish & Care for Your Wood Floor

This How to Book is not for an Amatuer
This book does provide some very useful information, but I found myself reading sections over several times to get an understanding of some of the terminology. It does provide a good outline of what steps to follow to restore a hardwood floor that had been covered by carpeting for quite some years (this was my project). Two things that I believe would have made this book better are more illustrations providing examples and a glossary to serve as a reference for some of the terminology used. Overall, the book does provide very helpful information and definitely got me going in the right direction to restoring my mother-n-laws hardwood floors.

Don't call it clairvoyance
This book was disappointing. I have read in many books on psychic subjects that clairvoyance means 'clear seeing' and refers to actually seeing visions, beings, auras and other 'other-worldly' things with the third eye.

This book explains clairvoyance differently - as intuition in general.

It claims to be a guide to development, but offers nothing meaty that you can sink your teeth into and practice. It's really a childrens book with lots of pictures.
