Have You Seen My Duckling

Absolutely Enchanting. Deserves it's award
A few words, and a search.
This book is about a mother duck that cannot find one of her ducklings. She goes around asking the other denizens of the pond if they have seen it. The fun thing is that, if you look, you will find where the duckling is.
There are few words in this book, so be aware of the reading level (baby-preschool). However, the artwork is very well done, and the fun of having the little reader find the missing duckling on each page makes the whole thing worthwhile.
A must for your child's bookshelf!
This beautiful book is loved by all children. It is very simple and beautifully illustrated. The little duckling is always nearby. Your children can help find him on each page. An absolute delight. Highly recommended!

I LOVE this sweet little story!
I've been reading this book to my daughter for years (she's 4 now). It's a simple story, beautifully illustrated that touches on shyness, friendship and helping others.
A Very Lovely Story.
Our 22 month old daughter loved the book the moment we read it. This is a wonderful story about a rabbit offering to help a bird hide away from the rain and becoming a good friend. We re-read it 5 times in the first sitting and this book continues to be a staple bedtime read.
Will you be my friend: A Bunny and a Bird Story.
This is a darling story of how a bunny and bird become friends. The pictures are soft and look like water colors. I have read this book to my preschool children (4-5 year olds) and they loved it! It is a great story to introduce spring, or reinforce friendship and helping. It is a wonderful story and I recommed it highly.

Unusual and gentle bedtime stories that your child will love
This book has been a favorite with my children because of the sweet love that it conveys, both between humans and animals. It is beyond me why the book is out of print, and I am desperate to get a new copy before the masking tape covers all of the book!

Wonderfully soothing nighttime story for toddlers+
My kids recently fought over who would get this book in their personal bookcase. My boy is 5, my girl 3! Even little boys who like to watch action shows during the daytime and make guns out of tinkertoys will enjoy being put to sleep with this book...it is soothing and repetitive, and calmed both my children right down. They have nice bedtime memories, and I could probably read it every night as a ritual and they wouldn't mind. I am buying a copy for my sister-in-law's little baby who is due in May. My kids enjoy watching everything slowly going to sleep, and finally too, the reluctant little girl, who is limp in her mama's arms by the end of the book (as my own children were!). Highly recommended bedtime book, right up there with Goodnight Moon.

good for teaching ESL
Each sentence in the text consists of a noun and a predicate verb in the past tense.
This is a simple pattern for students of English as a second language to follow.
Furthermore, this is a valuable book for a lesson on the past tense.

Lots of fun!
My 2-year-old daughter LOVES this book. The picture of the kids dancing and the page where we sing "happy birthday you you" are her favorites. The illustrations are so big and colorful they're a joy to look at.

Nancy Tafuri's Follow Me
Follow Me is the first of Nancy Tafuri's books that I had come across, and it is so delightful I have bought it for every new baby I know. Painted in a lush water-color style, the story of a new friendship between a baby sea lion and baby crab is told solely through pictures. The pictures are vivid and involved, leaving much room for improvisation on the part of the reader but leading the child through a clear progression of events. An absolutely beautiful book!

My baby daughter loved it!
We initially chose this book at the library because it had wonderful drawings of farm animals, especially dogs and cats, and a nice rhythm. But my 16-month-old daughter wouldn't let us put the book back on the shelf after reading it so we checked it out. We've since returned the book to the library, but she loved it so much - endlessly turning the pages and babbling to the animals pictured on them - that I had to buy her her own copy!

The pictures are wonderful. The few repetitive words there are encourage my child to 'read' the book. He also loves finding the duck on every page.
I wish I could find more books like this one- simple, gorgeous pictures, a nice story with a happy ending, a lot of opportunity for other activities while you read. We find the missing duck, count the ducklings, look at the pretty colors, look for other animals and more.
