Mindboggling!
The articles about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington alone should be required reading for all U.S. history classes. Kenneth Starr would have gone wild looking at the private lives of our country's two greatest leaders.

Oh,my...Quite lovely.
I was delighted to have this book arrive in the mail one day because I knew I would love it completely, being a big fan of Kander and Ebb as well as Alan Cumming. When I opened the box I wondered if there would be any pictures of Alan. Sure enough, the cover page has a stage hand painting Mr. Cumming's nipples. Already delighted, I continued to read. When I finished I was so pleased. I was left with the wonderful uneasy feeling you get from reading about the immoral Sally Bowles and sadness from the thought that there was no more to read. Kander and Ebb wrote this beautiful musical/play and I am ever so ecstatic to now own a beautiful printing of it. Unfortunately, I was unable to visit New York to See Alan Cumming and Natasha Richardson in Cabaret, but now I have pictures of the show to keep me company. I think any Broadway fan or any person that enjoys a good story should purchase this book. It does justice to the original play in ways the movie never could.

Incredible!
This is an extraordinary book that captures a great element of the Roundabout Theater Company's production of "Cabaret." The book, pictures, reviews, and behind the scenes looks at the production are exquisite, and an absolute must-have for anyone who saw the musical and loved it as I did. Reading the text is a great method for reliving the experience, especially while listening to the CD.

Excellent!
I purchased this book because my school was doing a production of Cabaret- and it came in handy! Many cast members referred to the excellent pictures for make-up/costume appearances. The pictures in the book are unique- I have yet to come across many of them online or elsewhere. The best part of the book is most certainly the entire script!

I'll never forget her name!
I first read this book 12 years ago, by the suggestion of a co-worker. I honestly have never cried so much from reading ANY book in my entire life. I am now 31 years old and crying as I think about Ursula "Sunshine" Assaid(USA). I have been looking for this book for years and I'm hopeful that Amazon.com will be able to ship it to me. Anyone who even knows, seen, heard or laid eyes on just 1 child MUST read this book. You won't be or see children the same!(P,S,) Keep tissues handy!

One Touching book.
My name is Lauren, and I live in Florida. I am in a class called Child Development at my high school and we were made to read this book as a class. It hit me with how lucky I am and how my parents could treat me like that, but don't. I don't think anyone will ever be able to really realize what Ursula had to go through. This book gives many great details of the torture she went through but we won't ever know how she really felt. What makes the story even worse is that the mother did nothing to prevent her boyfriend, Don, from hurting her daughter. This book has impacted my life tremendously and I hope it has yours also. For all those ones who find out a child or friend has been abused, go and report it-you may spare their lives instead of being killed from the pain and torture of being abused. This is a wonderful, powerful, touching book that should be in every home across the nation, and all the parts of the world.

Death from Child Abuse and No One Heard
I first read this book when I was in the sixth grade. I am now 27 years old and have been searching for this book ever since. I could not remember the title or author but was able to find it ... . Thank you ... . This book touched my heart so much. People often asked why would you want to read a book so horrible - it is not the content but how the book made you feel. It is an amazing book and it will surely make you weep. I am very happy I was able to find it after all this time.

Useful information
There is a lot of good information in this book, but most of it can be found toward the beginning. The tips on predicting the weather alone could be worth the price of the book. However, the maps of the various waterways were absolutely terrible. I would recommend this book for a general overview and lots of tips and tricks for paddlers, and the two "Canoeing and Kayaking the Streams of Florida" guides for detailed information on specific waterways.

Book Review- Paddler's Guide to the Sunshine State by Sandy
Book Review- Paddler's Guide to the Sunshine State by Sandy Huff

Coming from a whitewater paddling background, my first thought on looking at the river descriptions in Huff's book was, "Hm, not very detailed." On further reflection, though, this makes sense. Details of how to run rapids aren't needed in Florida, and the lack of details makes visiting the waterways described much more of a voyage of discovery- as paddling should be.
Huff has logically divided her book into three major sections. The first part contains tips for paddling in Florida, and includes chapters on gear and clothing and how to pack it, staying healthy, staying safe, and camping in Florida with sections on cooking and camp activities, all delightfully written by someone who clearly has had an abundance of paddling experience.
The second section describes in detail all the wildlife you might encounter on any trip on Sunshine State waterways, and your best strategies for safely dealing with those critters (Do NOT feed the wildlife!). Aunt Sally from Ohio will survive her first alligator encounter if you follow Huff's advice. There is even a short chapter on fishing.
Finally, the last section contains descriptions of over 200 trips on 91 waterways across the state. Every description contains all the information you'll need to make that trip: a map, where to put in, where to take out, the length of time and/or mileage involved, skill level needed, and local emergency phone numbers (great idea!). The descriptions are also keyed to the corresponding DeLorme atlas page numbers, and include a brief outline of what you can expect to encounter, all written in a tastefully understated manner.
It's difficult to find any flaws in this book, or figure out how to improve upon it. For every Sunshine State paddler or anyone who wants to become one, Huff's book is a must read.

Paddler's Guide to the Sunshine State
If you want to have just one book on paddling in Florida then this is the one to get!! It has easy-to-read maps, web sites, addresses and phone numbers for further information. Paddling a river or creek is more than just knowing where to put in and take out. Sandy gives you all kinds of information on the area, fishing, wildlife, weather, safety and much more. I must have every book there is on paddling in Florida but they're going on the bottom shelf because this is the one I'm going to reach for when planning my next adventure!!

Best book on the development of South Florida
The author did extensive study on the subject. Had all the dates and people correct. The only book I've read about South Florida history that left no grey areas.A must read for native South Floridians like myself.
