Having been given exerpts of this book to read in class (taught by the Dan himself), I can say that it is, indeed, a collection of vivid poetry relying heavily upon objective descriptions, if lacking personal emotional commentary on the subjects. Topics are varied, but with recurring themes of place. A good read.
