I live in this part of the country, I didn't know there was no much great places to stay here! Thank you! I know lots of places to get away! I just need that special someone! :)

My husband and I spent a wonderful two days in July 2000 staying in "The Cabin." at the Guest House Cottages on Whidbey Island. We found this romantic spot in this book. There are so many wonderful places in this book, so I will tell you about the place we stayed to give you an idea of the quality of the listings presented in this great resource.

We stayed in the cutest log cabin you have ever seen, pictures at my site. A complimentary continental breakfast was set up for us on arrival. We loved having our own kitchen and a grocery store nearby so we could pick up needed supplies for a picnic at the beach. There was a beautiful pool where you could lay out in the sun. In the winter you would be sipping hot chocolate by one of the beautiful fireplaces in your cabin. The cabins were off the road in the woods and have queen or king-size featherbeds. The floors, walls and ceilings were all wood. They have river-rock fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, skylights and antique furnishings. The one we stayed in had beautiful stained-glass windows. They really went out of their way to make our stay as romantic as possible. Once you have your key, the cabin is all yours. It is your own private getaway. If you are running late they even offer to leave the key out for you when you arrive.

There was a private deck complete with barbecue and two chairs so you could sit and look out over the pond inhabited by African geese. The surroundings were lush and green and we saw lots of the cutest bunnies.

We also visited a lavender field and brought home a little lavender plant. If you do visit these same cottages, don't forget to visit Deception Pass. In fact, plan to stay at least two days, there are plenty of activities, including hiking and sailing.

I can truly say that without this book, we would most likely have never known about this secret hideaway. So, between you and me....don't tell too many people! This is a great place. Only tell your best friends or buy them this book. I also recommend this book as a wedding present.

The pages are filled with pictures of each getaway and the general prices are also listed for your convenience. I believe there is a new book with updated information, but this is the one I have.

"Weekends for Two in the Pacific Northwest" is a perfect resource for couples looking to have some away-time in a special place. From Ashland to Seattle, the beautiful photographs and detailed explainations are very helpful in planning your gettaway. Prices and aspects of dozens of hotels, lodges, B&Bs, etc. are explored and the authors even give personal oppinons, and suggestions on which rooms are more romantic. I would recommend this book to anyone with a heart for romance. It's a favorite in my household!

Detailed descriptions of how various parts of cedar trees were used to create watertight boats, boxes, baskets, hats, clothing, shelter, mats, buildings, art, etc., etc. What really sends this book over the top are the detailed drawings and diagrams of how cedar was hand-processed and used to construct various objects. With this book as a guide one would have a fair shot at recreating these objects of functional art.

The Northwest Coastal people held the cedar & its spirit in high regard for all the gifts of life it offered them. For millennia they developed tools & skills to fell the giant trees to make canoes, post-&-beam homes, waterproof boxes & carved poles. Dedicated to those who know & respect the spirit of the Cedar, Hilary Stewart's book is a labor of love, respect & infinite knowledge. It intrigued her that people lived so well & for so long using almost exclusively the materials of their environment & her curiosity has wrought a fine book of early illustrations. A must for anyone interested in how the First People lived.

To a veteran of the camps, the book brings a warm reminiscence. To other readers, a warm invitation...

If you know to look for this book, you probably already know that it is the definitive reference on stonefly nymphs. This is not for the casual reader: if you are not an entomologist, you will find it difficult but rewarding reading. For the flyfisher, the introductory chapters are an excellent introduction to plecoptera, once you want to go beyond Swisher and Richards, or Leiser and Boyle. I have had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Stewart, stay at his home, and collect with him. His graciousness is as great as his knowledge. A revision is in the works.

Bill Stewart, answers all of those niggling questions, from what type of sanding paper to use, to remove letters off old signs...to how many strokes of the paint brush are required to paint the letter P!

"Sign Work" is a true reference manual, perfect for the beginner and for those already experienced who may wish to freshen up on various techniques employed for such a craft.

It covers a whole gammet of subjects, materials, costing of signs, colours, lettering, gilding and bronzing, glass decoration to screen printing.

I just wish there were more artistic references like this one!

Key Light is a well written book with fascinating true to life characters. I found it difficult to put the book down because I was looking forward to the next challenge life would bring for this colorful family. I can hardly wait for Ms Stewart's next book to be released.

Key Light has an excellent balance of fascinating plot, realistic characters, and imagery. It's no surprise that the author is also a successful artist in other media.

This is the "Absolutely, positively, without a doubt everything you want to know about Whitewater" book. I really do not think there is one shred of info left out, the Independent Prosecutor would be hard pressed to put together such a detailed and complete history. I doubt even the combined recollection of all the people involved know as much about Whitewater as what is in this book. That should give you a pretty good idea of what the book is about, the author does through in a little about the campaign, travel gate, Vince Foster and a few other early Clinton scandals, but the true heart of the book is the Whitewater investigation.

The book does not flow as quickly as his last book "Den of Thieves" nor is it as gripping. It is, however, a very well constructed and researched book. If you are interested in this particular issue then I have not come across a book with a better non-partisan telling of this story. If you are looking for an overall detailed account of the election or the first four years in the Clinton White House I would suggest the Woodward books "The Agenda" and "The Choice" and the Elizabeth Drew book "Showdown: The Struggle between the Gingrich Congress and the Clinton White House".

When I opened this book I was hoping for all the juicy details on the Presidents dirty deeds in Ark. In some ways I got what I wanted and I didn't. The book has a ring of truth and fairness about it. On the one hand Stewart lets the President off on the Whitewater charges but spills the beans on all the other dirty little secrets. Those who want to see Mr Clinton fall will be disappointed with this writing and those want to see the President exeronated will also be disappointed. But then again the truth is usually disappointing. Read the book, it's a good read. But be prepared to wade through a lot of detail to get to the truth.

If anyone is still interested in what the fuss was all about, they should read this. Blood Sport is written totally objectively and deals with all the players involved in every Clinton scandal except for Monica, which broke after publication.

The book details the business partnerships the Clintons had with the McDougals from the 1970's on the 1990's and its fall out. The story stretches from Arkansas to the White House and even goes a bit into the suicide of Vince Foster.

Stewart makes no judgments as to whether any impropriety occurred in any business dealings, so this is a good place to start for an objective reader who wants to make up his own mind about the whole sordid mess.

I had this book and the Transcender exam for Exchange 5.5. It's a good thing I had the Transcender stuff. I've been working with Exchange for over a year in single-site configurations, but needed something to get wise to multi-site configurations, etc. This book wasn't enough. Maybe it was just the fact that I kept falling asleep over it, but there seemed to be major sections that the Transcender exam covered well that this didn't touch at all. All in all, a disappointment.

Book seems OK. However if you're thinking about emailing them for a question/corections, I suggest that you don't. You're never gonna get a reply back anyways.

I USED THIS BOOK TOGETHER WITH THE MOC TO PASS MY EXCHANGE SERVER 5.5 EXAM. I AM NOW A MCSE.

I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT EXCHANGE SERVER. IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE PROFFESIONALS. IT COVERS THE BASIC ADMINISTRATION INFORMATIONS BUT NOT MUCH OF PRACTICAL STUFF e.g. LOTUS NOTES CONNECTIVITIES. DON'T JUST CONCENTRATE ON THIS BOOK, TRY TO LOOK AROUND FOR OTHERS.

If you're using the James Stewart Early Transcendentals textbook and you're COMPLETELY lost, you MAY find this CD ROM helpful. However, just about everyone else will find this product to be a complete waste of time and maybe even insulting. The description given (by Amazon) is so misleading that it's nearly dishonest. Do not waste your money on this; the Internet has plenty of free web sites where you'll find much better help at understanding calculus.

Only the most basic, introductory concepts are covered. As the textbook begins to probe a concept more deeply and the material becomes challenging, you'll find that there is no companion material on the CD ROM.

Where this becomes particularly insulting is in the way this remedial material is presented. It's literally childlike, on the level of a 10-year-old boy. These are actual descriptions from the box: "Basketball-playing robot and friendly Mars Rover take you through an explanation of derivatives-"; With the help of a colorful hot-air balloon, the greedy landlord..."; "A greedy boss and a skateboarding robot help you master the concept of area." Nothing like this appears in the product description on Amazon and nothing in the Stewart textbook leads you to believe you're purchasing a $... kid's cartoon. If you're taking college calculus you're way past this level of intellect and you don't deserve to be ripped off and insulted!

I challenge the publisher to refute my statements or at least use the above product descriptions, from the box, as the product description here on Amazon. Amazon, you're a good company and you shouldn't associate with this product.

I'm taking first year Calculus at a local University. When i started I had no idea what was going on because i never took Calculus in highschool. Our prof introduced us to JTC and i ended up getting an A in the course. Here's why: JTC is highly visual and interactive with a nice blend of 3D animation. A variety of problems and solutions help you understad what you're doing, and more importantly what it's used for. Put it together and you get a deeper understanding of the subject. This is a first addition so there are a few bugs that still need to be worked out. But no major one's that I've found. Overall, this is an excellent peice of software and i highly recommend it to anyone taking or teaching Calculus.
