A cardiologist tells how to keep yourself healthy.
Cardiologist, Dr.Stephen Sinatra, is best know for his excellent book The Coenzyme Q10 Phenomenon which discusses in detail the role of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in maintaining a strong, healthy heart. While CoQ10 is indeed essential for heart health so is the less well known nutrient L-carnitine. L-carnitine is so important to our bodies -- especially our hearts -- that our bodies manufacture it every day. Unfortunately, however, many people don't manufacture enough L-carnitine to maintain optimum health and some people manufacture so little L-carnitine that their heart muscles become severly weakened for lack of it. Fortunately, L-carnitine is readily available as a nutritional supplement so that anyone who is deficient in this important nutrient can remedy this deficiency by taking supplemental L-carnitine. For people who are deficient in L-carnitine, supplementation can significantly improve their health, and for those who are severly deficienct it can even save their lives. All of this is discussed by Dr. Sinatra in highly-readable terms in this excellent book. Incidentally, L-carnitine not only helps keep our hearts healthy and gives us energy it also helps us burn fat and thus can contribute to weight loss. All health conscious people would do well to read this important book.

L-Carnitine & exercise go together
Like his other works, Sinatra once again blends good, solid informaiton with an easy to understand style. The information he sets forth gives much credence to our need to supplement in our defense against the effects of the toxins we have dumped into our environment. As our lives get more stressful, our bodies - especially our heart - need supplements that aren't in high enough quantities in the foods we eat. Sinatra explains the necessity of L-Carnitine in maintaining healthy heart funciton. It is an advantageous supplement for exercise buffs and vital for those of us who don't exercise as much as we ought to. We are especially the ones who need to buy (and read!)Sinatra's books.

A wonderful book to get your children interested in reading!
Of all of the hundreds of childrens books (yes, hundreds) I have around the house, this book has been a favorite of both of my children from about 12 months to 3 years. My daughter received this book for her first birthday and adored it. With the birth of our second child, our son, our daughter got great pleasure in "reading" a book he could understand (all pictures) to him. Then at about a year old our son started "reading" this book to his sister and to me as well. I am currently ordering the rest of the series from Amazon (since I have been unable to locate them in the local stores during the past five years). This book is a great way to get your kids interested in reading at an early age.

This program will work!
Dr. Sinatra has used all the latest and smartest scientific info to devise a unique and effective program for anyone who wants to lower high blood pressure. I have read two of Dr. Sinatra's other books--on coenzyme Q10, and on the role of emotions in heart disease--and found them unfailingly informative, sensible, practical and insightful. I highly recommend this book.

A writer that makes me want to learn Spanish
I have always been thankful that English is my first language, for I would hate to read a translated version of a Shakespeare play. Neruda (and perhaps Gabriel Garcia Marquez) is one writer that makes me wish I could read Spanish, for as amazing as his poems are in the translated English (and the are amazing), they must be pure and unabashed magic in their original language. Neruda is able to write on emotions that we occassionaly feel, and often long about, but can seldom work into spoken (yet alone written) words. By far, my favorite in this book of poems is Number 20, which has come to be known as "Tonight I Can Write..." Only after losing the love that I thought would last forever did the words "Love is so short, forgetting so long" sincerely ring true. Neruda's poems in general are amazing, and his ability to capture human emotions is remarkable.

Neruda's Best
Other Neruda fans and poetry critics claim that his later works are his best, but I disagree. Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair was Neruda's first published book, done so when he was in his twenties. I think that's what makes this such a great book -- when you couple Neruda's incredible talent with the passion of youth, you get an incredible piece of literature. This is great romantic poetry, full of erotic passion and longing. Neruda knew how to use words to their maximum effect, and his wonderful, innovative use of imagery does what I feel poetry should do: it makes the reader think.

Without question...
...one of the most beautiful sets of poems in the history of poetry. Exquisite is the only word to describe Neruda's images and language. I have read the poems both in English and Spanish and even though the Spanish version is, of course, far superior, the poems don't really lose much in these translations. Neruda is the ultimate, TRUE romantic and not the schlocky caricature that we've come to accept as the essence of romance. Neruda understood the human condition with regards to love and its consequences like few other poets and it shows in the magical beauty of his work.

Old News - The internet hype is nauseating
This book was obviously written at the peak of the internet "Boom". The majority of the companies cited as examples of the onslaught of the new economy are no longer in existence. Earnings are barely mentioned. Companies cited as the movers and shakers of tomorrow are now penny stocks. The total lack of balance relative to other sectors is appalling and in retrospect is by itself educational. Everyone bought into the hype including the entire VC industry. This might explain why they all sat on the sideline in 2001 trying to regain their sense of direction. The entertainment value is a 5 and the educational value a 1. It is your choice.

Must Read for Every Entrepreneur & VC
This book is a must read for every entrepreneur and VC. The snippets of information in it are very valuable even after the downfall of the Internet economy-most of the text is more focused on timeless vc/entrepreneur related issues. I would highly recommend this book...

Good Read-Lots of Great Insight Even After the Shakedown
I was very impressed by the knowledge in this book. It has a ton of useful information for everyone from entrepreneurs to investors to other financial professionals. In addition, the content is fresh and much more applicable to the "after the shakedown" landscape than other venture capital oriented books such as eBoys, Confessions of a Venture Capitalist and Done Deals. This is a great book that has a ton of useful information straight from some very accomplised venture capitalists.
