Wonderful for all ages!
My mother bought this book for me over 20 years ago. I have a photo of me reading it to my younger sister when I was 7 and she was 18 months old. I loved the book back then, and I love it equally now. The message of giving love freely and universally is beautiful. The illustrations are also lovely. I look forward to the time when my own son is old enough to enjoy the Warm Fuzzy Tale. I'm so glad that it's still in print! The story might be geared toward children, but even adults can find something meaningful and reassuring within its pages. Something that will make you feel, well...warm and fuzzy!

My favorite book as a kid...
I received this book when I was 5 (20 years ago) and loved it growing up. It tends to be one of things that helps me still. I reccomend it for kids of all ages. Some might call it a hippy thing, but in this day and age it is even more neccessary.

wonderful
I absolutely love this book! Growing up hearing the "warm fuzzy story" told to me by verbal storytelling, I was delighted to find this book in print. I have used it to read many children to sleep at summer camps and overnights and have bought several copies to give away. This is an endearing story with a wonderful, positive message that kids CAN change the world and the illustrations are just TOO cute!

This book demystifies mental illness
As a worker in the field of 'mental health', I found this book to be invaluable in demystifying mental illness and assisting clients in learning about themselves using everyday language they can understand, not the psycho mobo jumbo utilized by psychiatry (to keep people oppressed and thinking they cannot cure themselves)This book, almost 30 years old, is probably more relevant today, particularly as the legions of 'rescuers' become more prevalent in society, i.e. therapists, counselors, probation officers, and all those in favor of the medicalization of behaviors. The books basic premise, that people can solve their own problems and get better on their own by redeciding, is both true and a threat to those who purport otherwise. For further in depth education in demystification, I recommend reading Thomas Szasz.

An excellent Scientific analysis and exegesis of TA
Claude M.Steiner shows great respect to the late E.Berne and analyzes properly and with solid argumentation the Transactional Analysis in a very approachable way. It is very pleasant to read and it is full of useful information and examples for those who wish to implement TA in their lives. I highly recommend this book to those who want to find out what is TA and what are the scripts we live. As E.Berne, Claude M.Steiner disagrees with the way psychiatry is treating people and teaches us how to treat our children and how to develop ourselves intellectually and emotionally.

Scripts People Live
I never write reviews but this book was so incredible. Comprehensive and yet specific enough to give people serious insight into their unconscious decisions and how to change that. Mr. Steiner examines how society promulgates and promotes certain behaviors as well as our parents, teachers, etc. etc. This book is a must read for anyone truly interested in the inner-workings of themselves and others. VERY ENLIGHTENING!

13 Years Smoke Free!!!
I bought the first edition of this book thirteen years ago, and was able to stop smoking easily, despite being very discouraged by many false starts and failures before.

It's well laid-out, addresses the urge to smoke on many different levels. The author has obviously thought through so many facets of smoking addiction and has come up with ingenious strategies for dealing with them all.

This is a real thinking smoker's self-help book.

It Worked for Me!!!
I stumbled onto Dr. Geisinger's book while looking for something else. I had tried to quit three times before--unsuccessfully. I followed the book's instructions and read a chapter per week/followed the recommendations for four weeks and guess what?!?! I became a non-smoker in one month and have not smoked nor even had the desire to since then! Oh, did I mention--I bought Dr. G's original release of "Kicking It..." back in November of 1980...

Excellent! Helped me quit smoking.
An easy to read , step by step guide to end the addiction of cigarette smoking. The author provides the strategies and skills necessary to help you quit as well as a justifiable, scathing indictment of the tobacco industry.

The importance of an Scientific Emocional Education Book
Claude Steiner is a recognized writer in this théme. Actually we have some opinions of emotional aspects of the human being, most of them not related to scientific psychological concepts. Steiner gives to teachers and health staff a new way to recognize the human potential to love and truth. Reading this book we really can learn and teach others: how to stay with persons,in confidance and respect.

The human is ruled by emotions. If yours r out of control th

An alcoholic speaks
To say alcoholism is not a disease is an insult to us alcoholics out there. I just finished treatment for alcoholism a week ago and got a new perspective on my condition and got to hear stories from other alcoholics like me. Alcoholism is a disease. It is an incurable disease which comes from a gene in your system. This gene takes away the choice to drink in a normal manner. Any alcoholic would tell you that they would give anything to get rid of this disease and be able to drink normally in social situations but they cannot. Many have went through treatment, thought they were cured, and started drinking again under the assumption that they could now drink normally with no consequences. They reason they failed was because this gene which causes their disease has taken away their choice.

Alcoholism is both a mental disease and a physical disease. An alcoholic that drinks on a very regular basis develops a physical need for that drink as well as a mental need. Physically, they will need to drink to get rid of the shakes, the loss of appetite, the inability to sleep, and other such physical symptoms caused by their alcoholism. They do not wish to drink but in many cases the only other option nwould be to suffer from painful withdrawal. Mentally, they need to drink to feel normal. Without that drink, they would become overwhelmed with anxiety and irritability. They make up reasons why they need to drink, and they make up excuses to convince themselves that they are not alcoholic. This is not because of irresponsibility, this is because of mental illness caused by their alcoholism. Consider people with other mental illnesses. Would you consider someone who is clinically depressed irresponsible because they can't just get over it and feel happy? Would you consider someone with schizophrenia irresponsible because they can't go out and find a job? Probably not.

The person who wrote this book insults alcoholics by divididng them into the categories of Drunk and Proud, Lush, and Wino. This proves that he has no compassion for those alcoholics across the world who go through a great amount of suffering because of a disease they never wished to have. According to his definition, I myself would be a Wino. The traditional image of a Wino is some bum on the street with a bottle in a paper bag sleeping on a park bench. Well, it so happens that I am an intelligent hardworking individual with four years of college and a promising future. I am not saying this to be self-righteous, I am saying it because labeling me with a word with such a negative connotation is suggesting that I am in some way a detriment to society.

As an alcoholic who has went through quite a bit of suffering because of this disease, I find it to be a shame that such a book was written that portrays those who have no control over such a terrible disease in such a bad light.

The title is deceptive
I bought this book assuming it would give help in dealing with the alcoholic but was very disappointed. If you are doing research this book may be fine, but it is not for self-help.

It was impressive
I liked how the author approached Alcoholism as a choice and not a disease. He approached the matter with the idea that alcoholics have responsiblities. They are responsible for their own actions. It shed new light for me on alcoholism.
