The best children's book!
This is a very, very good book for children. I just startedreading it this morning (Have not yet finished.), but already it issooooo good! I love this book and think you will too!

An intersting book for kids under 11
It's summer in Oakdale and Sam, David, Joe, and of course, Wishbone are all talking about their plans for the summer. Sam's dad gets a call from his friend -Tom- at his new pizza place. It turns out that Tom just bought an old summer camp and wanted to know if Sam's dad knew anyone who could be a counselor there because he was three short. Next thing ya know Joe, David, and Sam are in the car on their way to camp Ka Nowato. They step out of the and onto what seem like the deserted grounds of Camp Ka Nowato. Around the corner a boy and a girl walk around the corner. Their names are Rebbeca and Jeremy. Soon after two blue school buses drive into the parking lot. Tom is driving one of these buses. When Wishbone is invited to stay at Camp Ka Nowato. He gladly excepts and is deemed camp guard dog. His job is not an easy one and it doesn't get any easier when some spooky things start happening at Camp Ka Nowato. Is it really the ghost of Ka Nowato, the guardian of the Chitowa sacred burial ground or is it just some pranksters? find out when you read this great, lightly spooky, quite mysterious, interestin and absorbing book.

I enjoyed this can't put down Wishbone Super mystery book.
The Ghost of Camp Ka Nowato

The story takes place in early summer, mostly at Camp Ka Nowato, in the woods near a lake. Joe, Sam and David (from the Wishbone T.V. series) are counsellors at the camp. Someone starts playing pranks and it's up to them and Wishbone, the guard dog, to find out who is playing the pranks. I enjoyed reading the book. I was curious to see what would happen next. I recommend it for kids who like to read chapter books. This Super Mystery has longer chapters than the Wishbone Mysteries Books, but it is no harder to read.

Alex Steele keeps you coming back for more
After reading no.3 in the series,it was immediattly one of my favorites. It leaves you on the edge of your seat,uh er chair until the last page.Join Joe,Wishbone and the rest of the gang as they search for clues to the strange happenings at Wanda Gilmore's new house. Is someone playing a nasty trick on them,or could it be a real, live ghost at the Hathaway House !

BOTTOM LINE:The suspense is great with that little Jack Russel Terrior that you won't put the book down until your finished.

Scary!
O my god! This book left me terrified! I seriously could not get to bed after reading a chapter! My favorite in the whole series! They should make it into 2- episode show for tv!

Enchanting and faithful to James Fenimore Cooper
From the book jacket, "Inspired by _The Last of the Mohicans_ by James Fenimore Cooper," _Last of the Breed_ is part of the "Adventures of Wishbone" series. Wishbone, a perky Jack Russell Terrier, connects modern-day events with books he remembers "reading." In this particular adventure Mr. Leon King, a local real estate developer in Wishbone's home town of Oakdale, wants to build a Tastee Oasis fast-food outlet on the edge of the town park. He gets permission to do so, by nefarious means, from the Oakdale Town Council. The moral of the book, from which Wishbone draws parallels to Cooper's novel, is that the land is important and progress (in the form of fast food outlets) isn't measured by paving over every available inch of landscape. What is especially impressive about Steele's treatment of _Mohicans_ is that he is truthful to the original. He does not gloss over the violence (he includes a throat-slashing and the Massacre at Fort William Henry), nor does he try to change the ending of Cooper's novel. Wishbone even says, "I had forgotten how sad the ending of this story is. Let me just take a moment..." before moving back to the "triumph" over Mr. Leon King. _Last of the Breed_, while certainly not a substitute for Cooper's _Last of the Mohicans_, is certainly a good primer for reading Cooper's novel. Moreover, it treats readers, both children and adults, to a throughly enjoyable ecofriendly story. Well done, Wishbone!

classic cyberpunk!
I just can't believe some of the reviews this book has received. Obviously, these poor misinformed fools thought this was related to something else, or they are completely ignorant of the impact cyberpunk has had conceptually and thematically across all mediums of expression...not to mention the impact on the technologies of those mediums.
This is an excellent short story collection...

Misunderstandings of idiots. . .
This book is not a novelization of the movie Hackers, it is a collection of short stories by some of the best SF writers (cyber or otherwise) out there today. Fans of Gibson's Neuromancer "series" will definitely approve, and Sterling is getting better with age if not his exposure to REAL technology. Heavy Weather ROCKED!!!!

I dont know anythig about it.
This is just a book of stories. I don't like cyberfiction, but it is just fiction. Plus since they are science fiction they are about hackers of the future or something not real ones. I don't know what kind of people hackers "really" are & I don't think the point of a FICTION collection is to tell me. As for the lame movie I don't think the stories are related to it.

Limited M16 information
As a builder and collector of AR-15's, I purchased this book in the hopes of getting some new info on the military versions of the rifle. The cover of the book certainly caught my eye, and perhaps that was the intention. However, I found myself getting a bit "depressed" as page after page of non-M16 info was thumbed through. Finally, after reaching nearly the end, there was one story on the M4 Carbine. It was just enough to make me keep the book. That's more than I can say about a few other books I also ordered.

A big disappointment with little real info
I was really disappointed with this book. It was more of a outlet for the authors to brag about themselves and complain about their ugly guns that were never excepted and produced by the military.

When you think "assault weapon" you think AR15, AK47, AK74, FAL, right?

There was almost ZERO info on the FAL. How can you right a book on assault weapons and not dedicate pages to the arm of the free world, the assault weapon used by over 90 countries?

There was little info on the AR or AK too. No real shooting techniques, cleaning ideas, or model info.

If you are interested in reading about the authors home made guns and a UGLY 22 cal. machine gun, this book is for you.

If you want valuable info on real assault weapons and there many variations look somewhere else.

Tons of Info
This book has almost all the right things to be a hit. It has tons of pictures, gun tests, gun specifications, and hard to find information about guns never built. You can read it once and be amazed and then you can still pick it up and learn more. you can never stop learning from it. The reason I gave it four stars, though, is because of its lack in amount of guns. I understand it is the fifth installment in a series, so I can't wait for the sixth!
