the best little book in the world
This is a good book for all ages. It's a fun little book that you could read over and over again and again! This book is about two little monkeys that love their babysitter because she just talks on the phone all night. They get in to all mischief and mess the whole house in the process. They slip and slide out of the banana-covered kitchen in to the bathroom now covered in bubbles then outside to the muddy ground below the jungle gym. I think they are dirty now so they need a bath. They go take a bath and then notice the mess in the house they have to hurry to clean it before mama and papa monkey get home and then jump in to bed just in time!

fun to read to your children
The story begins with the mommy and daddy monkey getting ready for an evening out and their two little monkeys are delighted because they know that the babysitter will let them do basically anything that they like because it is her opinion that they are "the best little monkeys in the world" The little monkeys do get into mischief while their parents are away, but it all works out in the end. This story delighted my children...ages 4 and 7 and even made their big brother (12) smile when he over-heard part of it. I recomend this book for children 3 - 7.

Fabulous Fun for Everyone
This book was my favorite as a child. The illustrations, and the words just make you feel like your really in the story. The tales of fun and games were endless, amd I absoloutely loved the illustrations. I think out of the many books I've read I can definitely say this is the best!

Whimsical and Compelling
Finding the right book for children can be a thankless task. Fortunately, the author's fine sense of imagery and subtlety make this a delight for children as well as parents. An antidote to the mindlessness of many children's books, Astronauts are Sleeping mixes the dreaminess of Pink Floyd with the resonant images of Dylan. Highly recommended.

another bases-clearing triple for standiford
one of the most unsung children's writers working today (and the ghostwriter behind many of your favorites), standiford scores again with the stone giant. the book makes an american legend accesible to young readers without diminishing its mystery. as with her classic balto, standiford takes the raw stuff of real life and turns it into liquid gold. what we're left with is nothing short of a new subgenre in american literature: the phantasmagoric children's period piece.

Headless Horseman
My son LOVES this story, in all its many versions. Easy reading
(second grade) and lovely illustrations. A must have for those who love to be "spooked"!

Ghost Story for Kids
This is a children's version of the Washington Irving ghost story. My 7-year-old son read it in one afternoon and loved it. This will get any child reading who is the least bit interested in scary stories. Especially recommended for kids who are a little too young for Goosebumps but desperately want to read them.

An excellent novel for all readers
A classic, brilliantly written novel. A schoolmaster, and a little town in colonial New York, create a normal, sometimes humerous beginning to the novel. However, as the tale goes on, you hear of the Ledgend of the Headless horseman of Sleepy Hollow. This mysterious, classic thriller will have you sifting through the pages you'll never be prepared for the unexpected, climacting conclusion! A must read for any Halloween fan! Just a brilliant story, hands down.

Drowning Ghost fact of fiction
Cade Merrile is a seventeen year old owner of a webpage called blairwithfiles.com. His cousin Heather died in the making of a student documentary on the blair witch. Cade puts a message up on his site asking for information on one of the many cases of the Blair witch. In 1825 there was a mysterious drowning of a young girl. Eileen Treacle was only ten years old when she drowned in 'East Tappy Creek" and several witnesses testified that they saw a 'bony white hand' reach out of the water to pull the girl in. He looks through tons of e-mails until he comes across one written by Cecelia Northrupp, a girl who claims to have seen the ghost of Eileen Treacle. Without hesistating, Cade decides to check her story out and uncovers the story of three more mysterious deaths near the same creek.

The story is told by Cecelia Northrup herself and involves a high school camping trip that takes place 174 years after the strange death of Eileen Treacle. Immediately, (as in most of the other stories) things start to go wrong: some of the kids become sick, the weather is really cold, and ghost of a little girl appears to one of the seventh graders. So she is convinced that something is wrong and the behaviour of one of the teachers and her boyfriend Mark is soon putting everyone's life in danger. What is causing these strange events to occur and how are they linked to the Blair Witch herself? The other books in this series are good but not as messed up as this one. It really can freak you out.

This book was very intense and creepy. I like the way nothing is ever proved in these books and anyone who likes to get a little creeped out now and then should read it. If you aren't into this kind of thing, then you shouldn't read the book.

Fantastic book & series! Why are they getting rare?
The 3red installment in Cade Merrill's Blair Witch Files. Suprisingly eerire. A high school girl named Cecilia and her boyfriend Mark,go on a camping trip along with 2 of there friends, two teachers, and 30 something seventh-graders. As time passes Cecilia's boyfriend and her teacher get very mean after falling into a creek. Cecilia begins to worry and afetr a while she finds both teachers gone and Mark acting very irritable. Wanting to get herself and the kids out of the woods she finds the school bus gone. Now Cecilia and her friends find themselfs in a race against time to get out of teh woods alive. Things get more horrifying each day- finds teachers finger nails and other teachers body. No one belives her. Mark finally tells the group the will walk out of the woods. But is he really leading them to civilization or deeper in the woods were an unknow evil lurks. Great ending. WHY ARE THE BLAIR WITCH FILES GETTING HARDER TO FIND. I WILL BE VERY SAD IF THEY GO OUT OF PRINT. Ther are not corny as some people say. Belive me I've read 4 books in this series and they were all grat. I suggest reading this trilling series- that I hope won't stop for a long time!

Another great Blair Witch Files book...
When Cade Merrill, seventeen year old owner of the website, theblairwitchfiles.com comes across a newspaper article dating from 1825 about the mysterious drowning of a young girl, he decides to investigate. Eileen Treacle was only ten years old when she drowned in 'East Tappy Creek" and several witnesses testified that they saw a 'bony white hand' reach out of the water to pull the girl in.

When Cade posts a message on his website asking for information on the legend, he doesn't expect success. After wading through dozens of replies, he comes across an e-mail from Cecelia Northrupp, a girl who claims to have seen the ghost of Eileen Treacle. Without hesistation, Cade decides to check her story out and uncovers the story of three more mysterious deaths near the same creek.

The story is narrated by Cecelia Northrup herself and involves a high school camping trip that takes place 174 years after the strange death of Eileen Treacle. Immediately, things start to go wrong: the weather is freezing, some of the kids become ill, and ghost of a little girl appears to one of the seventh graders. Cecelia is convinced that something is wrong and the behaviour of one of the teachers and her boyfriend Mark is soon putting everyone's life in danger. But what is causing these strange events to occur and how are they linked to the creek itself?

This book was fast-paced, entertaining and fairly creepy. I think it was less 'psychological' than the previous book in this series, "The Dark Room", but equally enjoyable. I have to say I like the way that nothing is ever proved in these books and that the reader is left to make up their own mind about the unexplained events that take place. Overall, five stars and I recommend it to any teen who likes horror stories.

An Exciting Adventure for Balto the Dog!
Balto is a fantastic story about a dog going to Nome to take medicine to sick children. Will Balto make it? Find out in the book Balto. This is a great book that is very exciting to read.

The Bravest Dog Ever
The book the Bravest Dog Ever is about Balto. This is a book which tells the wonderful rescue story of Balto. Balto lived in Nome, Alaska, and that is where the story took place. Two children got sick and they needed medicine, which the doctor did not have. They sent it on train, but the train got stuck. This is where Balto and his crew came to the rescue. They went through difficult terrain, and made the story very exciting.
I love the story of Balto, probably because I love dogs. But still the story is really good, and I recommend this book to whoever is reading this review. Balto should be known in everyone life.

4 ½* Exciting Story of Heroic Dog
"This is a true story about a very brave dog."

It's 1925 in the sub-zero, treacherous region of Nome, Alaska. Two children stricken with diphtheria need medicine, but the train that carries it gets stuck in the snow, 700 miles from Nome. The town's only hope is a 21-team dog sled relay to deliver the precious medicine. Balto, the head dog on the second to the last run, leads his team through blinding snowdrifts and over a frozen river, and around cracking ice, and reaches Nome almost ten days before the expected arrival. He becomes famous: In New York City, thousands of miles away, a statue of Balto is put up in Central Park.

This is an exciting book, with soft, slighted muted illustrations and short sentences, is an excellent book (especially for adventure and dog lovers) for the reader in from around grades 1 through 3. The suspenseful narration and the real heroics of Balto and his driver (along with the 20 other dog teams) make for a dramatic story. 48 pages, includes map of the trail to Nome.

Space Dog and Roy
This book was a good, quick read, and pretty funny too. I would recommend it to other 2nd graders looking for a short good book for a book report.

The Dog is Funny!
The book I read is called Space Dog and Boy by Natalie Stanndiford. This book is about Space Dog and a boy named Roy. He was a space man and he had to act like a dog. This book was good because there was some crazy stuff in it. It was good because I like the characters they were really funny. The message the author shared was that just because he looked like a regular dog but he really wasn't. This is a funny book about a dog named Space Dog.
