A well written review

Having read a number of text on family therapy, I found this to be a concise and well written review of many of the popular modalities of today.

Gave intrigue to dreary diagnostic material from the DSM IV.

I've resisted the dreary study of diagnostic categories for years. I was delighted to find a book on psychopathology that brought the diagnostic categories to life. Rather than placing troubled souls in little boxes, this book integrates the Adlerian theory of lifestyle. I now have a clearer picture of how a client's mistaken beliefs can lead him/her in the direction of a diagnostic category. With this book as an enjoyable, readible foundation, I can now brave the ever so tedious DSM IV. Thank-you so much. Jill Fitzgerald, MSW

Excellent for the prospect adlerian

A solid introduction to the basics of adlerian psychology. A useful book for students and those wishing to get an overview of adlerian psychology. I found the chapter on psychopathology from an adlerian perspective excellent - it has stimulated me to read more in this area.

very comprehensive collection of leading intimacy theorists

The editors have done an excellent job of compiling the leading theorists on intimacy and relaionships into one text. It is thoroughly done and includes chapters by the leading professionals in the field. Highly recommended to graduate students or any professional interested in pursusing their knowledge of counseling with interest in intimacy and relationships.
