This reprint by jill D. Duvall should be enjoyed by children and adults. The book is simple enough to teach children and interesting enough for adults to read. The pictures are great for people wanting to create traditional Tuscarora Outfits. The plus is it is a concise look at Native American history that extends from North carolina to New York. Native people and non-Native people should fine this book interesting and a valuable addtion to their collection.

When I first read the title of the book I thought it was going to be boring...I was wrong! This book is very interesting and wonderful.

In her effort to combine two mythical figures from distant cultures, Sneve has allowed the moralizing of each to overpower what could be an interesting storyline. The detailed descriptions of both Norway and the Plains area of the western United States are intriguing. The cursury descriptions of the indigenous people (especially the Lakota) limit the readers' connection to the people thmeselves. The story seems to exist simply to give a moral value, not to present an interesting story about the two cultures.
