A Touching Reminder Of A Day That United All Of America....
Where were YOU on the morning of September 11th, 2001? I was at work when Howard Stern reported that a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center Towers. Having been born and raised in The Bronx before moving to Rochester, N.Y., my workday immediately ended as I focused my full attention on Howard's show; He became my only link to the city I loved and would always call home. Later on came the TV reports and the images that will never leave my mind, but for those first few hours, I sat listening in shock as the man who makes me laugh every workday became my only connection to family, friends, and loved ones who were suddenly living in a war-zone.

9-11: Emergency Relief is a benefit book that is filled with true stories from September 11th. They range from touching, to infuriating, to thought-provoking, and the list of creators reads like a who's who of Indy Comics: James Kochalka, Will Eisner, Tony Millionaire, Harvey Pekar, Tom Hart, Joyce Brabner, Ted Rall, and literally DOZENS of others. Besides being entertaining, and raising money for the Red Cross, the book fulfills another important purpose: It stands as a reminder of a day we must NEVER forget. God Bless America!

Amazing, dense and horrifying
Easily the best of the comics industry's myriad responses to the tragedy of September 11th, this book gets down into the nitty-gritty of human experiences and reactions to tragedy. No superheroes. No larger-than-life expostulation. Just real people - talented artists - telling amazing stories. Higlights include Gregory Benton's "Treasure," an untitled Hutch Owen story by Tom Hart that manages to toe the fine line between rage and sentiment and "Citadel Of The Night" by K. Thor Jensen and Chris Knowle. Honestly, though, the book is so full of great material that nobody should be without it.

Every community library in the country should acquire a copy
After the September 11th terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and in the skies over Pennsylvania, some 50 graphic novelists and cartoonist ranging from such legendary names as Will Eisner and Harvey Pekar, to newer talents such as Frank Cho and James Kochalka, came together in a very special project as a way of expressing their grief, patriotism, and support of the American people in the face of naked, lethal, ideologically driven aggression. The result is 9-11: Emergency Relief, a powerful graphic novel. The proceeds will go to benefit the American Red Cross. Simply put, every school and every community library in the country should acquire a copy of 9-11: Emergency Relief for the edification of their students and their patrons.

Good
This is a collection of the Target: 2006 Storyline of the UK Transformers comics. I enjoyed this graphic novel alot. Although, neither this or 'Fallen Angel' can ever be better than the last issue's of the US comic(by far my favorite). Pick this up if you have already read this US comics (if not get those first).

The Best Transformers Story ever told!
This is the best Transformers comic book story ever told! Target 2006 was written by Simon Furman, with Art By Jeff Anderson, Will Simpson and Ron Smith! But the Best UK Transformers artwork is done by Geoff Senior! Ultra Magnus, Autobot Leader of 2006 travels back in time to 1986 stop Galvatron,Cyclonus, and Scourge from creating a weapon of distructive power that could destroy the Chaos-Bringer Unicron! These characters came from the epic saga of Transformers the Movie! on the back of the book it says "In Target 2006, Arch-Decepticon Leader Galvatron travels back in time to lay the foundations for the future destruction! With Optimus Prime missing, feared dead. Cybertrons greatest Hero, Ultra Magnus maybe Earth's last hope! These Books reprint Transformers UK #78-88! Highly Recommended!

Great Companion to Transformers: The Movie
This collection is from the British Transformers comic and was published just before the TF movie was released. Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge have travelled back in time to the 1980's during the events in TF Movie to build a super weapon to destroy Unicron and free themselves from him. The time travel method they use rips 1980's Optimus Prime and several other Transformers out of the present, causing Ultra Magnus to journey from Cybertron to try to discover what has happened to the Matrix. On 1980's Cybertron itself an Autobot terrorist cell is planning a debilitating strike on the Decepticon government. This is, without doubt, one of the best TF stories ever written. The british team were at their peak during this era and you owe it to yourself to purchase this book.

Will Power! inspires and enraptures.
I read this book at a difficult time in my life. My mother had died days before, and I was sitting in the closest weeping, when by my foot lay a copy of Will Power! I wiped away the tears and began to read, expectantly, looking for answers.

I was inspired and enraptured to say the least, and my life suddenly took on new meaning. I could breath again, I could sing again. I began to rap involuntarily. I could not stop rapping, until musical ecstacy permeated every pour of my being. I was liberated at last from the sorrows of my recent loss.

Thank you Will Power! for changing my life forever.

it was the best, it was intresting and is a must buy!!!!!!!!

At last: the manual we were waiting for
This books contains it all: who, why, what and how to make effective, efficient, creative and committed change. Changes that last and last. Very practical, down to earth, yet based on a powerful and imaginative model. Don't read it, use it!

Everything you always wanted to ask about change, but ...
were afraid to know. McWinney shows in this "fieldbook" how any change process can be tackled. He convinced me how working with myself, the groups and the resources at hand can create better and longer lasting solutions. Not only to problems but also to the issues of problems that were very hard to solve. The book is a practicle guide to his "Paths of change" and should belong to every bookshelf that contains literature on change and social issues. One warning: this book is not about quick fixes and will only work for you when you are not afraid to venture where you thought you wouldn't dare to go.

The importance of friendships
People weren't made to live alone and thus the importance of good friends are important in everyday life. Its a small book but one that I'd reccomend even to those who think that they've "got it" when it comes to friendships. It talks about why its important to have friends, how to be a good friend, how to fix broken frienships, and how to be good friends with those that aren't Christian. I haven't read too many friendship books but this one seems to cover a lot of stuff, and though its a small book, it comes in handy.

A good read about the need for friends.
I've been a fan of Michael's music for a number of years, so when he began to write books, I was eager to see what he had to say. And I haven't been disappointed yet. He has a very readable and personal writing style, and he's not afraid to be transparent. As for content, it's always relevant and based on tested Scriptural principles. It's awesome to see how strong his faith has remained during his high-profile years in the music business, where temptations are many and humility is easy to lose. A major contribution to his stability lies in the solid friendships he has maintained with other strong Christians. Friendship is important to him, and he wants others to reap its many benefits as well. That's a major reason why he wrote this book.

"I Will Be Your Friend" attracted me because of relational issues I have recently encountered in my own life. As I've entered my thirties, my desire to improve my current friendships has increased, since they have sustained me through a number of tough times. I want the ability to properly edify, encourage, and even rebuke my friends for the benefit of their character, and our relationship. In addition, I'd like to gain skills on forming solid new friendships, which is sometimes difficult for an introvert like myself.

So, when I came across this book I knew it was one I needed to read. And I'm glad I did. Michael illustrates a number of truths he's learned over the years about friendship. He touches on such topics as setting boundaries, accountability, the importance of being vulnerable, mentoring, and servanthood. Michael shares a lot from his own personal experiences, and it's refreshing to see that he even records his own relational missteps. Even better, his insights are tied to Scripture, and he is clear that God is the source of whatever wisdom he has.

I particularly recommend this book to men, since we seem less capable than women (or at least less willing) when it comes to forming deep friendships. It's important that we cultivate this ability, since the benefits are many and the alternatives are definitely less than God's best.

One of the most valuable travel books in my collection
This is an invaluable guide to weather in almost every region of the world. If not for this book, we would have frozen our a--es off in India last year, like just about every other traveler we met. Thanks to this book, we dressed appropriately. It's helped us prepare for many other trips. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Using this book for Reptiles and Amphibians
I've found this book to be a reliable resource for recreating enviroments for reptiles and amphibians. Once I started to follow the climate for Costa rica, I had them breeding within a few months... I feel that this should be a part of every Herp book collection

Saccharin Goodness
I am not a mormon but I have serious mormon history and I have been reading the series to get an account of my ancestors and the early church. Thanks Mr. Lund for mentioning them! I find the books to be a bit tedious in the "cutesy" and wholesomeness; his embodiment of the female is seriously weak! I as a woman feel my sex is misrepresented with hand wringing and soulfull eyes, etc. But on the whole, the first three have been good. Very spiritually motivating and descriptive. It gets hard to read about all the suffering the early church went through; but it always turns out good in the end. The ending is good. It brings to a positive close the nail biting issues of the first two books. Very curious to see how the rest will come out! My encouragement to you, Mr Lund!

A Younger Reader
While I am a younger member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or "Mormons" as we are better known I have a strong belief in the church and though my family was not always with the church to hear of the struggles that the early members went through to bring us the church we have today makes me so grateful to them, and builds my faith all the more. This is a book for people of all ages wether it's a bedtime story for kids or an interesting look at their history for adults or teens like me. This is also a great book for non-members, because there are so many misconceptions about the church ,and this books shows the trials and the truths of the begining of the church. I would like to thank Brother Lund for making such a moving and interesting book, by taking the reader into a fictional family, namely, the Steeds to experience true church historical events alongside them. Thank you.

Fire of the Convenant & The Work and the Glory series
I have read the nine volume series of the Work and the Glory and have just finished Fire of the Convenant. These are books that I will read again many times. It helped me to feel a part of these difficult times in the Church history, and made it come alive for me. Thank you Brother Lund!

A good guide, but don't take it too literally
I like this book, because by being forced to write down everything I eat, I have for the first time in my life taken a good look at my eating habits, and how I need to improve them. It's also a great way to keep track of your aerobic workouts, and there are weekly weight/toning exercises to follow, so if you don't already have a routine, it's a great way to start. That said, I do have some reservations about this book...the amount of fat that Kathy recommends eating daily is a lot less than the recommendations in the Fat Counter (the book you have to buy as a companion to this one). Cutting fat is a good way to lose weight, but if you cut it too much, it can be very dangerous for your body. I say get this book, use it as a guide, read all the tips in it (most of which are very good) and use it as a food diary, but follow the recommended fat and calorie allowances loosely.

This book is a must have!
I recently had my first baby and found myself struggling to lose my "baby fat". I wanted a program that was easy to follow, uplifting, and effective...I found the solution in this book! I am only in week four of the program, but already friends and family have started to notice a change, not only in my appearance but also in my attitude toward eating and fitness. I have learned a great deal from Kathy and would recommend this book to anyone!

Kathy Smith has helped me to loose 28 pounds !!!!
This book is fantastic! Each week of this 10 week program, Kathy teaches you a different asspect of eating healthy, while at the same time, targeting a spicific area of the body to concentrate on. She gives you a lot of knowledge at the beginning of each week to help you better understand what it is you are trying accomplish in that week. She plants a lot of interesting, informative tidbits throughout the weeks pages. When you do this journal you will want to retain the information that you learnt in the previous week, and carry it over into the next to compliment what you are learning in that week. Kathy incorporates both arobics and toning into this one, and the results do happen. I loved the book so much that I came back and purchased one for a friend. When someone asks me about my weight loss, and how I did it, all I have to say are two words, Kathy Smith. Thank you Kathy!!!!

Pretty good guide
I'm trying to apply the principles now. It's nice to have a book that can show the different aspects of "God's will" (including the personal one), yet not discount the mind. It notes that what we often perceive as guidance (e.g., the supernatural, prophecy, fleeces, and inward guidance) are the exceptions and points out why. It focuses on prayer, understanding the Bible, willingness, and thinking carefully. It recognizes however that we consider our desires, abilities, wise counsel, and circumstances. It seems to answer a lot of my questions about guidance as well as my misconceptions. Best of all, he gives you the Biblical texts to read and analyze yourself to see if his arguments hold up, let alone Biblical examples. I know one friend (who found out about the book independent of me) that bought several copies of this book to give as gifts. I may just do the same.

Extremely challenging and thought provoking book
I find "Knowing God's Will" to be an extremely challenging and thought provoking book. Blaine Smith consistently presents a *balanced* and mature approach towards understanding and seeking the Lord's will for our lives. He makes it a point to test his own ideas against what the Bible teaches.

This book will surely challenge you to:-

(1) Discard your misconceptions on how we should go about finding God's will.

(2) Understanding how God reveals His will.

(3) Realize that we, too, need to take responsibility in knowing His will.

Excellent biblically-based strategy for life's decisions
I have tested the biblically-based strategies recommended by this book over the past five years and have given away countless copies to students and friends who are struggling with decision making. First used in a Sunday school class, I often find myself back in the book refreshing my memory on details for how to seek God's will, especially for the important crossroads in life.
