Keep Oldie But Goodie Soul Music Alive-MOTOWN FOREVER
I am a devoted fan of oldies but goodies and Motown ,be it books ,articles ,conversation, watching a live concert in person ,or on T.V. or listening to my own collection of music. I found this book very informative. People I showed the book enjoyed being asked questions to test their skill and helped them remininsce the good old days of Motown.I would highly recommend this book to keep this part of history alive and well and for just plain fun.

more fun than...

I like this comic book because we Christian kids need something to read besides that other stuff. I am 10 years old and I have all of the comic books about Sarah. I tell my friends about Sarah to. That's all.

That's Not Stealing
Sarah is an interesting character that makes me anxious to see the next issue. In this issue I felt Sarah is the good guy. I felt sorry for her dad.

Not whodunit so much as "whowroteit"
What do we read -- and what do we read into the books we love? These are the big questions facing Sarah Smith's two academic detectives, the blue-collar Joe and upperclass Posy, as they set out on a race to prove the authenticity of a Shakespeare letter that Joe has stumbled across in his research. The letter could change scholarship as we know it: it purports to be from the Avon-based player, and it seems to say that he didn't write the plays attributed to his name but that a nobleman borrowed his name. Joe, of course, wants the real working-man to be the plays' author, but Posy is leaning toward someone more of her own social standing, and both have good cases that draw them from Boston to England and into each others' arms. So -- did Shakespeare write the letter? Did he write the plays? Drawing on actual, ongoing literary debates, Smith creates a lively, contemporary mystery with two engaging characters who end up finding out as much about themselves as they do about the playwright they both love.

Consider The Pro's & Con's Of A Home Business Today!
The authors have written this book to address the concerns many have about setting up a business at home. Geared better, in my opinion, towards professional people who have already experienced life in the office work force, this book will allow them to assess themselves to determine if working at home is right for them.      The authors point out that serious personal commitment and preparation is required to succeed with a home business. A number of factors including family members, personal habits, one's personality, and inventory of skills must be taken into account. Ongoing education, keeping informed on the home business issues, and taking an active stance about working at home all contribute to the success of this growing work force.      The authors provide a number of checklists and worksheets for their readers to fill in to help them chart the course for meeting start-up business requirements and to achieve realistic business goals. They also offer readers brief but insightful information about some of the more popular and profitable home businesses they can start. Not stopping here, they also advise their readers to anticipate changes within present occupations and encourage them to adapt to new employment opportunties that will arise on the scene.      The book offers a broad spectrum of information on topics such as advertising, pricing, insurance, licensing, zoning issues, copyrights and patents, food product concerns, product liability, subcontracting, selling, and the role of computer use for the home business. Extensive listings at the back of the book provide resource information about other books, newsletters, and organizations that can be of help to new home businesses!      This is a great book for members of the online community who are considering starting a business at home. It will challenge them to totally think through what is involved. With serious attention to details, personal preparation, and a good computer system just about anyone will be able to setup an online business. Consider the pro's and con's of a home business today. This book will help you do this!

A great short story anthology
This short story collection centers on the impact of separations and divorce on the participants including extended family members. However, the twenty tales share a dark look at IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES as the audience is treated to situations that do not end as peacefully as our current legal system expects.

Lia Matera has put together a remarkable anthology that has several excellent stories, some very good tales, and no poor entry. The cross-genre contributors are a modern day who's who with such noted authors like Oates, Cross, Deaver, Lutz, Buchanan, and Muller, etc. None of the writers are lightweights as they all hold their own with the heavyweights. Anyone who enjoyed the Battle of the Roses will fully relish each tale that paints a very dismal look at broken relationships.

Read this book to gain the competitive edge
This is a great book for both the weekend warrior, and those wanting to join a competitive team. Regardless of your skill level it holds something for you. It covers history, game rules and in depth gear and accessories information. The book outlines game tactics, techniques, equipment and how to use bunkers and cover to your advantage. Professional players are interviewed, and their tips to success are revealed.

For the battle hardened players, there are analysis' of guns and air systems, along with advanced strategys and training drills.

I enjoyed this book because it was informative and fun to read when I was a beginner, and I am still learning advanced techniques such as capturing and defending a building/fortress.

Chapters are well sectioned off, so it is easy to dip into or re-read an area of particular interest. Well worth a look for those who enjoy the game.

This is the best paintball book yet!
I would have to say that this book is the best resource forpantball, hands down. Sure big...companies have good websites, but ifyou want in your face interviews with the people who came up with thisgreat game, or if you want detailed tactics and stratagies on how totake out an opponent, this is the book for you.

In the firstchapter, it has information on what the game is about, it's rules, different games you can play, 3 interviews with the pioneers ofpaintball, explanations about all the equipment and what it all doesfor you, common mistakes new players make...it goes on and on...theperfect new player's resource!

If you're a new player or a seasonedvetran, this book will have something for you. For the new playerthere's all of chapter one and much, much more to get a grasp on thebackground and the way the game of paintball is played. For theadvanced player, an explanation of the front, mid a back players in agame, advanced playing tactics, and lots of great drills and otherinformation.

If you are thinking about getting a paintball book, then definately get this one because for $16, you get a whole overviewof paintball, drills, gun information, info on all the equipmentyou'll use, advanced tactics and so, so much more.

I really enjoyedthis book, and I hope you do too!

This is a great book!
I've been playing paintball for 4 years and in all my years, I've never seen such a useful product. "The Complete Guide to Paintball" covers drills, tactics, first day tips, gun guide, and history of the game. This is a great book to own and it is one I use for my team!

Beautifully written but disappointing
Call me shallow if you wish, but when I read a mystery novel, I want the story's loose ends to be neatly tied up when I reach the final page. I want to know whodunit and why. If you feel the same way, this book, although it is beautifully written, is sure to disappoint you. The author doesn't provide answers to any of the puzzles she sets forth. How did the boy disappear in broad daylight? Did he run away or was he kidnapped? Is Reisden really the missing heir? How could a young boy get from Boston to Africa and then on to Europe? Who hid Jay's body and why? Will Perdita return to Harry? Will Reisden and Perdita end up together? Will Harry and Efnie marry? Will sad, gentle Gilbert end his days alone? The book is compelling, and will leave you longing for a neat resolution, but the author doesn't provide it. It seems as though she ran out of steam -- instead of solving the mysteries she raises, the book simply ends with a weak and inconclusive "Epilogue." While the Vanished Child is compelling reading (I simply couldn't put it down), as I closed the covers, the lack of a real conclusion made me feel duped.

I could read anything by this author; this is a favorite!
This is the book that compelled me to buy every single one of the other books I could find by the author - her writing is simply that good and the characters she creates are vivid and compelling.
In The Vanished Child, the reader is immediately submerged into a decades old mystery, centering on Alexander Von Reisden, a man with alarming gaps in his memory and virtually no recollection of his childhood.
One day, a chance meeting with a stranger raises even more questions about himself and his past. Could he possibly be Richard Knight, a missing heir who was kidnapped as a child and who stands to inherit a fortune from the surviving members of his family? Or is he simply someone who coincidentally resembles the Knight family, leading some of them to believe (or hope) that he could be the missing Richard?
Author Sarah Smith weaves her tale with haunting intensity and detail, keeping me reading till nearly morning. I paid the price the next day but it was worth it.

a psychological suspense thriller not to be missed
Never have I read a book and lingered over it as I did The Vanished Child. A wonderfully, lyrical book that captures the reader's imagination from the opening pages and holds it through and past the last pages. I read the sequel, The Knowledge of Water, almost immediately because Reisden and Perdita haunted me so. The story begins with a man, a scientist by profession and a Baron by lineage, who is adrift and uncentered years after the death of his young wife. A death for which he feels entirely responsible. Juxtaposed with his story to find himself again is the story of literally finding one man's identity. The mystery is that he may be the heir to an American fortune. The heir disappeared immediately after presumably witnessing the brutal murder of his guardian grandfather. Who killed the grandfather and why? What happened to the child? Why does the Baron have no memories of his earliest childhood years? A taut, psychological suspense mystery unfolds as the Baron ! relunctantly agrees to "help" solve the mystery but is unable to remain as detached and clinical as he would like. The story is a mystery, a romance and a thriller that is both haunting and illuminating. The author has promised a trilogy and I cannot wait for the third installment. Read The Vanished Child and The Knowledge of Water--you will not regret it.
