Welcome to Mossy Creek
"Welcome to Mossy Creek the town you can count on ain't goin' nowhere, and don't want to" with these words you get the flavor of life in the small southern town of Mossy Creek. The people are fiesty, funny, sad, and loving. Each chapter is a different character's story. You learn the history of the dispute between Mossy Creek and the nearby town of Bigelow. Each chapter becomes a story unto itself while characters overlap occasionally in the tales. From Miss Ida, the guardian/mayor of Moss Creek who will go to jail rather than put up a new welcome sign outside of Mossy Creek (afterall it was written by a Bigelowan!) to Casey, an Olympic hopeful whose dreams are dashed while returning from her elopement, due to a car accident which leaves her paralyzed from the waist down, you will laugh and cry with the inhabitants of this marvelous town. Come on for the ride and enjoy a few moments in Mossy Creek. It is a fast read and powerful in its emotions.

Great book ....
I thoroughly enjoyed this book - lots of fun, quirky characters. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Laugh Till You Cry!
I read this book because I love Deborah Smith's work. I figured at least her stories in the book would be fantastic. I laughed so hard with the first story my husband finally asked me to share the joke. And it just got better after that. I can not wait for the next book to come out! The characters were all fun and lovable. It made me wish my small town was a wee bit smaller, Southern and full of Mossy Creekites!

From an Artist
This is a gorgeous book with a beautiful story.
I read this book aloud to my guests at my own bridal luncheon and it was a hit.

I plan to buy several as gifts.
Buy this book for yourself and for those you care about.
Do not pass this book up. It is a gem.

Great to use for a Guest Book!
We are using this book in lieu of the traditional Guest Book at our wedding. There are lots of blank spaces in the margins that guest can use to sign it "yearbook style" and it makes a nice book to have on a coffee table after the wedding. Much more unique than a plain guest book.

A Moving Story, Beautifully Told
The Story of the Heart is very moving. The art is beautiful and the story is wonderful. I've given this as an early Valentine's Day present to my wife, daughter, and mother, and they all love it. So do I.

A Great Read!
How to describe the charm of Mossy Creek? By turns hilarious and heartwarming, Mossy Creek is populated with the funniest, homiest, sometimes orneryist bunch of characters south of the Mason-Dixon line. If you like Southern humor and superb writing, go on down to Mossy Creek!

Fine MOSSY CREEK tale
If the Lovin' Spoonful had been in the Georgia village of Mossy Creek rather than Greenwich Village, they would know that hot time, summer in the mountains means plenty of fun, ole southern style. The townsfolk look for a quiet uneventful season, but also know their enemy in slimy Bigelow still remains on the prowl. Meanwhile the librarian pushes the Police Chief into bluffing an abusive parent while the Mayor leads by example applying common sense to seemingly difficult problems. Much of the townsfolk meet eating dessert at the diner, but along with fans will find hot fun in the summertime here.

The third Mossy Creek tale is a series of vignettes written by a virtual whose who of the irons maidens of the south (more talented than steel magnolias). The contributions differ in size while providing a slice of life in a small remote Georgia mountain town. Each story builds up on the previous contribution so that the audience receives an anthology that uses the best elements of a novel and that of a short story into a tremendous collection. SUMMER IN MOSSY CREEK holds its own with its superb predecessors. Fans of the series already know that the first two books flow smoothly; the third tale shares in common with the previous duo a southern comfort smoothness.

Mayberry meets Picket Fences
This charming small town series really comes into its own with the third book, Summer In Mossy Creek. It has something for everyone--laughter, tears, romance, and the cozy appeal of lovable eccentrics.

Clinical Nursing Skills
Published in Paperback by National Nursing Review (1985)
Authors: Sandra Fucci Smith and Donna Duell
Amazon base price: $29.95
Used price: $4.95

Great Resource and Worth the Money
This volume presents skills from very basic to very complex which will be used in a variety of clinical settings. This volume is probably not something a novice would snap up because of the price, but it a reference that every practicing nurse would want on the shelf - novice or expert. The pictures include current equipment. The steps of the procedure are detailed and include safety tips and equipment needed. Good idea for the student's special Christmas present or the nurses' station.

Pictures are informative and all around great book
I really enjoy reading this book and looking at the pictures of procedures being done on patients. I am entering an LPN program soon and I feel that this book will be a great asset to me during my studies and throughout my career. Much recommended to anyone interesting in the nursing profession.

Addiction: The high that brings you down
Overall I thought this book was very informative but more importantly, this book exemplified reality. Too often drug abuse is misinterpreted by many on account of generalized stereotypes, scare tactics and inaccurate information, this book refrained from all of the above. Also this book is directed towards the adolescent reader and as a result, puts many complicated physiological terms and processes in to comprehendable reading material (without losing or misconstruing the definition or meaning). I think this book did an amazing job at explaining the facts and consequences of drug use. This is the kind of book that should be incorporated somehow into the high school education curriculum.

A compelling addition to Urban Studies reading lists
Domicide: The Global Destruction Of Home, collaboratively written by J. Douglas Porteous (Professor of Geography, University of Victoria, British Columbia) and Sandra E. Smith (Adjunct Assistant Professor of Geography, University of Victoria, British Columbia), is a compelling study of the razing of people's homes, through motives that range from persecution for ethnicity or religious beliefs, to building disrepair, to an ostensible need for a new highway or airport. Individual chapters address the true nature of this occurrence and its devastating consequences, and discuss possible solutions to wholesale home destruction. A sober and fascinating account, Domicide is a compelling addition to Urban Studies reading lists and contemporary social issues reference collections.
