A Great Desk Reference
This is a perfect book for someone to keep as a desk reference for the personality types. I found the information very valuable even though I own most other books on this subject. It is an outstanding reference for the types in an organizational setting.

Comprehensive and Concise---Perfect for Organizations
I found this booklet to be of extreme value compared to similar products. I used to buy a whole text to give to my clients before this came along. It contains some of the best material I have seen on the Myers-Briggs types. The fact that it has so many great contributors is a value-add. I would recommend this booklet to anyone using Myers-Briggs types in a professional setting. The booklet covers multiple topics including leadership, career development, creativity, stress, problem-solving, personal development, and learning. At first I was overwhelmed with the page count for the types, but after reading the content I was pleasantly excited and couldn't wait to show them to my customers. The book also includes some interesting new information about a new model---MTR-i---which is a team role model based on Jungian type. A very good value for the low price.

Good book, plus...
This is a very good book. In addition, I strongly recommend "Strategic Organizational Change" by Beitler.

Finally something substantial on Change Management
Excellent descriptions of the challenges associated with a major change effort in organizations. Practical advice with checklists to guide managers. Best and most practical book I've read. This book offers not only what you need to do to manage a major change effort, but also provides tactics on how to resurrect a change effort that is stalled - great advice.

Mourier and Smith provide real-life advice, obviously learned from years of practical application of these tactics. This book is "real-world" - not just philosophy and theory.

A "How To" Book on Change Management
What I like about this book, is the fact that it is practical. Many books in the area provide the reader with the WHAT needs to be managed during change efforts. This book provides the HOW TO.

I also liked the emphasis on both tactics for new change projects AND tactics for reviving efforts that are stalling. The many checklists are helpful and the focus on what Change Sponsors must do, what Project Team Members must do, and what Change Agents must do is quite appropriate.

I would have liked a little more focus on how to manage people in the organization who resist change.

I will be advising my clients to get copies of this book.

Good, solid intro to web site design
This book gives a very good overview of what needs to occur to setup a corporate website. Covers senior leadership buy in, requirements analysis, and network needs.

Unfortunately though it skimps on software and loads up on the hardware, networking side. It should not scare the beginner but definitely open their eyes as to what is required for your own in house web staff.

Very good "bang for the buck" but use this book in conjunction with a software/web design book to round it out.

A SIMPLE ONE-READ ONLY GUIDE THAT HELPS IF YOU"RE NEW
If you are a newcomer to the net building a business, and need to know a lot about building websites, this is the one. I have 22 years of experience in the entertainment business, and 7 years in social work. Now I am semi-retired and ready to take off to see more of the world. I know I'll be able to access my pages using any internet coffee shop in the WORLD!

BORING.
As a freshman nutrition major, this book was required for my English 101 class. I found it to be boring, unhelpful, and plodding. The author's instructions for activities leave you depressed and annoyed, and teachers have to jump around a lot to instruct properly.

This might be a good reference book, and perhaps even a book for secondary/high schools, but not for a college English class.

Flexible and comprehensive!
I also teach "post-secondary English" but I have found the St. Martin's Guide to Writing to be a very useful resource because it gives students (and me) much support for the writing process, interesting readings for writing models and discussion, and, given the current high cost of college textbooks, its comprehensiveness means I don't have to require students to purchase more than one book! St. Martin's includes a writing handbook to review foundational writing skills. Chapters on taking tests and building a portfolio are also helpful, but what I like best about this book is its careful attention to supporting how we write with step-by-step explanations and examples. This care to detail is very useful for my students who are entirely online!

Good instruction
I consider this book to be one of the best how-to-write books I've read. I'm not a college student, but a writer who wants to sharpen skills, and I have found many sections of the book to be extremely helpful--the section on writing profiles, for example, and the one on writing autobiographical essays, just to name two. I've also found the information contained in other sections--such as Narrating, Illustrating, Comparing and Contrasting, Field Research--to be invaluable. I'm so glad I came across this book! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a detailed plan for learning to be an excellent writer.
