Great user-friendly reference for vet students
This book is great when you just need the down and dirty on a disease, and don't want to wade through a 50-page description in the heavy-duty references. It was also very useful during second-year, when you're just trying your hand at figuring out the diseases, and need a little confirmation of your diagnosis and treatment plans. Or, when you're totally clueless and need help get started in the right direction. Fair warning, faculty usually won't accept it as 'reference' especially if you're trying to argue a point, but during a recent open-book final, I brought mine in anyway and there was practically a mob of other students rushing over to check out one thing or another.

5 Minute Veterinary Consult: Canine and Feline (CD-ROM for W
Tilley's 5 -Minute Veterinary Consult book has been an extremely valuable asset to my library. When the CD-Rom came out, it was even more useful in that immediate and current information can be retrieved much faster than picking up a book. It is faster since topics related to a case can be searched for and reviewed with a touch of your mouse. This information can be quickly printed and given to clients to further understand their pets diagnosed condition. This printed information alone is priceless! A client that has something in hand and can follow and confirm their veterinarian's diagnosis and treatment, helps establish the trust a client needs to have in their pets doctor.

I reach for my 5- Minute Vet Consult CD-rom more than any other resource in my library. It is very accurate and has a surprising amount of detail to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of each topic. The drug search is a very helpful formulary for those quick reference needs. The most recent CD has a good number of cytology and radiographic images attached to the topics. These can be enlarged to see more closely the great detail.

In my opinion the 5-Minute Veterinary Consult CD-Rom was one of the best reference investments for my practice. It is definitely the most utilized reference I have. Time is money and this has saved me many steps and thus time and money. Every practice needs this reference without doubt!

My vet suggested me getting this book (I have worked for him for 6 years) and I am glad I did! It has 4 different sections in it, "Presenting Problems and Physical Findings", "Diagnostic-Laboratory Tests", "Diagnostics-Electrocardiography", and "Diseases and Clinical Syndromes". Each section has detailed information on each finding, usually two pages per each problem, which covers the Basics (definition, signalment, causes and risk factors), Diagnosis, Treatment, Medications, Follow-up and a Miscellaneous. There is plenty of information in the Appendix section of the book as well. Including a Formulary, Conversion Tables and more! I would highly recommend it to vets, students and vet techs.

Educational While Entertaining!
Great plot. Enjoyed the mix of textbook material and the fictional story.

A Fun Read with Lots of International Business Insights
This was a very informative and enjoyable "educational" novel. Lots of info about accounting and business issues (e.g. ethics) mixed into a fun adventure story. The action moves from Atlanta to Europe to India. A great mix of textbook info and a mystery novel.

The Bottom Line is Great Reading
This is a great book that incorporates various accounting and business topics into an adventure story...

The Unwavering Power of Faith
Wigglesworth exemplifies the true Power in God's Word. He takes the Word beyond something on paper and shows forth the substance of the Holy Spirit, Who is available to ALL who will be bold enough to believe with total sold-out commitment. This small book comes alive with God's power in a most practical way. The author's simplicity is so refreshing. Just straight forward faith.

a reader
This little book is a very nice, hardcover that I leave in my bathroom for myself and guests to use for a quick daily devotional. Like all of his books, it is an annointed word that always stirs up the holy spirit in me.

Excellent book!
This book is one of the most impressive books on prayer I've ever read. It gives insight into timeless Spiritual truths about prayer that are rarely discussed. I would recomend this book to anyone who is hoping to deepon there prayer life or desiring to know more about prayer.

FIVE STAR MOTHERLOAD
I loved this book.It was great to hear the Beatles speaking for themselves for once. Great NEW pics too. A MUST buy for Beatles fans.

Great Book By A Great Group
I have got all of Giulianp's interview books and I think they are terrific. He has got a way with words and organization I have yet to see from any other Beatles historian or pop expert. Really good interviews and great pics. too.

This a the greatest book of the fab-4 ever!
I would just like to say that of all the books I've read on the Beatles this is the most interesting of all. Me being a young fan of only 17 is intrigued by the poliical views and social views of the fab four. This book not only shows their serious side, but it also shows their witty sense of humor. I recommend this book to any fab-4 fan who would like to have a good laugh and insight into these great musicians in history. Peace! 8-)

great book
It's so refreshing in these turbulent times to read about these heroes.

Unlike other medal of honor books, which just offer the citations or summaries of the citations, this book offers unique looks into the heroes by way of interviews with them. They each have amazing stories and incredibly interesting lives.

Buy this book!

Beyond Glory
At first, I did not like the fact that the book was written by someone who openly protested during the Vietnam war. In my belief he had not earned the right to even speak with these hero's of America. The author did a great job relating the stories of these American heroes in their own words. This is a must read. We are loosing the hero's of our past wars at an alarming rate due to old age finally catching up to them. It was amazing to hear these men talk about their great deads like it was an everyday occurrence.

62 poets from around the country tell it like it is!
62 poets from coffeehouses around the country tell it like it is. This collection is a treasure. It is a 'first'; there's lots of good stuf inside, and a sure feeling for the contemporary 'hip' poetry scene. Moreover, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, founder of City Lights Books, (the press that first published Allen Ginsberg), has given his endorsement of the book by allowing his Poet's Manifesto to be reprinted as an introduction to the collection. The cover is very attractively designed. A simple black and white motif that seems to lend solid credibility to what's inside. Definately a book for contemporary poetry fans!.

Good book for poetry
"This is a great book for people who are sure they don't like poetry--and for those who are sure they do, as well." -Jennifer Joseph, (THE BAY GUARDIAN, Sept. 1996)

Comments on the Meditations
I have used this book extensively in my personal and professional life. I find the meditations soothing and extremely helpful in focusing my energy and my thoughts. I also use the meditations in this book in professional counseling practice and my clients find these mediations very beneficial to their growth and healing. What I especially like about this book and the 2 other meditation books, Meditations for Healing and Meditations for Awareness is that they include a variety of authors. This inclusion of many authors I believe helps to expand the consciousness of the reader and increase the flow of energy during the mediation. I would highly recommed these books. I have purchased many copies of these books as gifts of healing, awakening and transformation for family and friends. PJ8115@AOL.com

FOR EVERYONE- EXCELLENT CHOICE
This book is wonderfully relaxing to read. I began reading this book only out of curiosity. I didn't know what people meant by "visualizations". Once I got into the book, I realized that visualization is like playing "pretend" when we were children. I realized that the visulations could be related to things going on in my life. I also realized that the stories are so descriptive and soothing that after reading them, my mind was relaxed and calm. I taped myself reading some of the stories out loud and played them at bedtime and found that I slept like a baby! We read to children at bedtime, how about reading to each other? Well, I began using the visulations as bedtime stories for my 7 year old granddaughter. She listens and does the pretend excercises and falls into a relaxed sleep. The next day we talk about the visualizations. She actually looks forward to bedtime now. These are wonderful visulations and stories to read but they also serve as read aloud stories for children and adults. Do yourself a favor and get if not this Larry Moen book, then one of the others he has written!

Mythus: The idiocy of TSR
My friend recently got out of the Marines and he brought with him the most wonderful role playing system I've ever encountered, and I've played alot of them. The way it approaches the use of skills is truly the most effective I've ever seen. The combat system, which runs off the skill system, works beautifully. It is a shame that TSR took this spectacular system away from the role playing populous, though how they won the lawsuit when the similarities to D&D are so few and far between still stupifies us all. I recently picked up Gary Gygax's new game, Lejendary Adventures, and while reading it, I keep thinking to myself, "It's almost Mythus, but Mythus did 'this' better." The only problem that any of us had with Mythus was the magic system, which is a bit unbalanced. Other that that, it is the pennacle of role playing games.

Great book. Great RPG system.
The Dangerous Dangerous -- Mythus game system is the best! The book is great and well worth its (orginal) price tag of $26. Although the system needs more playtesting (too many opportunities for unfair exploits) and the book needs better editing (errors in the data tables are worse than typo/grammer errors). Mythus & Dagerous Journeys is great..The best!. To bad T$R (AD&D) sued GDW for frivilous copyright issues. Now WOTC (Magic the Gatering) owns T$R and Mythus (through a buy-out) and hopefully they will debug and re-release Mythus.

Awash With Roses: The Collected Love Poems of Kenneth Patchen
Published in Hardcover by Bottom Dog Press (1997)
Authors: Kenneth Patchen, Larry Smith, and Laura Smith
Amazon base price: $16.95
Average review score:

Poems of extraordinary depth, beauty and emotional courage.
An excellent collection of love poetry by one of the greatest American poets. This volume, which is accompanied by a concise and compelling introduction, reveals the best of Patchen: his irrepressible sense of wonder, his ability to see things anew, his skill at waking us up to the moment, and his life-long love for the beautiful and intelligent woman in his life, Miriam Patchen. Since much of Patchen's work is now out of print, this collection is a rare opportunity to explore this acclaimed poet's writing which one hopes is just now beginning a resurgence. (I also suggest you look at his other writings, such as his daring "The Journal Of Albion Moonlight." Written during WWII, this poetic anti-war novel is still controversial in both form and content to this day.)

Grandpa Tucker's Rhymes & Tales

Grandpa Tucker's Rhymes and Tales, a review
...Grandpa Tucker's Rhymes and Tales is a "lucky," or well worth expense. This book is chockfull of fun story-poems, and just simply poems, that offer the reader and listener an alternative to the bedtime story, or anytime story for reading to our children. That's what I did with this book. I read the rhyming tales out-loud to my 10-year-old daughter, as I believe the contents of "Grandpa's" book are best enjoyed out loud. The stories are amusing, the rhyming clever, and often the underlying messages offer lessons of good behavior without being preachy.

"Grandpa" is "hip" too. While many of the poems deal with personified animals, Tucker's most frequently used character is a snake that goes by the name of Sammy, a cool dude with a mischievous personality. Many holiday poems include Sammy getting in and out of trouble, or becoming hero for the day. Take for instance "Sammy, the Snickers Snake." Sammy dresses as a barber's pole on Halloween and saves his town from a vampire by holding his snake friends, Hiss and Hoss "dressed together like a cross," scaring the vampire away. And then the friends rejoice by giving themselves a "high one." Sammy is justly rewarded with a five-pound Snickers bar.

I have only one complaint about this book: it would be better served with full page, color illustrations. All of the children's poems here lend themselves to pictures. The black and white sketches are well done, but I would like more drawings and in color to make the book more inviting for very young children.

DON'T MISS THE SMILES!
I am a sixth grade teacher in TN and came across Grandpa Tucker on the internet while searching for holiday materials to use for my class. Little did I know that a few seconds of my time would lead to hours of enjoyment for my students. The rhymes are entertaining yet have a moral. They are wonderful to share with the children. The light in their eyes and the smile on their face is priceless. Sammy the Snake is the most popular snake in the class! Sammy has become part of my classroom. The children love Grandpa Tucker's rhymes and tales. It was important for them to know that someone cares about them and is writing with them in mind. The stories are filled with children's language such as the Snickers. The underlining message is always clear and a wonderful to share with the children. Thanks Grandpa Tucker for your wonderful poetry. You always bring a smile to our faces and the children send you a perfect 10 and thumbs up!

Grandpa Tucker Writes A Winner!
One summer, while searching educational sites for my 4th grade students, I found Grandpa Tucker's site with his wonderful poems, tales, and new words for old songs. What a joy! Reading them reminded me of the excitement when, as a child, I first realized how wonderful words could be, especially in poetry. I couldn't have been more delighted with Bob's writings for the 8-12 year old child and for all of us out there who remember being a kid. So I purchased copies for gifts and an additional 5 copies to use with my students. The investment was well worth while. To say my students truly love Sammy Snake and the wonderful tales Bob Tucker weaves is an understatement. The reason for that is not only Bob's charming command of the English language, but also because he makes Sammy and his other characters seem "real"--something that is very appealing to children. Although Sammy's a snake, Bob gives him the human qualities of a little boy, who's living and learning and trying to grow up in the world to become a good snake. And what makes it even better, Sammy's a snake who really cares about others. Sometimes he gets into trouble, like all children do. But when he makes mistakes, he gets gentle, loving guidance from the adults and friends in his life. As a teacher and parent, I especially appreciate that in his those verses. Many of Bob's poems center around Sammy and his experiences throughout the year and the holidays ("Sammy, the Valentine Snake", for one). Bob also creativity draws his audience in with such poems as "Pum-Pum, Pum-Pum, Pumpkin Pie", "Chocolate Math", and "Ode to a Hamburger", just to name a few. Children will love this book and read it over and over for a long time to come!
