This book has instantly become the family favorite. My daughter had me read it three times right after we first got it, and she laughed everytime we read it, as a matter of fact she STILL laughs when we read it. The illustrations are beautifully done and add a lot to this wonderful story. We look forward to future releases from Mr. Slangerup.

It's my favorite book, especially when the nest is on Fister's head. I like when Dirt Boy gets washed. When Dirt Boy sleeps, he finds out he was sleeping in the giant's belly button. It makes me laugh.

Have you ever wondered how to convince some little boys that they need a bath? "Dirt Boy" is the answer. This is an excellent book to teach the concept of cleanliness. The use of sensory words makes the reader able to smell, see, and feel the impact of not bathing. As a classroom teacher, I see many ways to intergrate other subjects into a literature lesson. For example, a study of the senses, study of adjectives, and a math lesson on the number of cleaning products necessary to get Fister clean.
