AWESOME book. A must for everyone, not just college student
This great book has taught me the value of being yourself and how TO land that perfect job. Matching your "I will" to your competitors "IQ" is a task that is sure to lean future employers into your direction. This book not only gives you step-by-step instructions to follow when getting ready for an interview, but also how to write a resume, and possible interview questions that you will be asked but more importantly, those that you should ask! Also, this book shows you competitive ways to overpower the competition in job interviews, to set yourself apart from the rest of the pack including those with more experience, qualifications, etc. You too can land that perfect job with a little help from James and his book. I used James techniques to help me to be elected to an elite board of directors that normally takes 2-3 generations to be involved with, but I did it in less than 6 years. I have also used these techniques to help me be awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships, just by following a few simple tasks. This book is awesome, not to mention Jame's motivational speaking events. James is a talented individual and he is putting his talent to work in today's society. He will stop short of nothing to achieve his goal and he will help you to accomplish YOUR goals. This book is a must for anyone looking to land their dream job, not just college students. An enthusiastic TWO-THUMBS UP!!

Spectacular Book!
James Malinchak has put together a great source of information for anyone on the search for a career. The inspirational quotes were especially helpful to me every day. Malinchak's use of his own personal experiences makes every page very accessible to readers. I love this book!

Great book
This book should be read by all college students preparing to enter the real world. It will give you strategies that will help you land the job of your dreams. The book is easy to read and the author does a great job of relating to students.

Great romance!
Suzanne Simmons's "NO ORDINARY MAN" is a great book. At first it seemed like one of those old love novels, which tend to be boring, but Ms. Simmons did herself well when writing this book. It's trully amazing the way it all happens. I would recommend it to everyone!

An extremely pleasant, straightforward love stor: JOY!
Victoria (Torey) Storm, a fabulously wealthy, attractive, sincere, and kind young woman from the U.S. East Coast (is this possible, really?) is attracted to and helps her fourth cousin, Mitchell Storm, Chief of the Scottish Clan Storm, find a buried treasure that makes it possible for Mitchell to live on his island, take care of his 800 island clansmen, and offer Torey a life of beauty and charm. The dialogue is simple, witty, and honest. The plot blends modern and historical. The setting flits from East Coast mega-wealth to a quaint Scottish island. Although the "struggle" is not difficult and you never doubt the outcome, the dreamlike, wispy heroine and always correct, strong hero keep you reading just to enjoy the calm of these happy, confident people. You want this couple, and their friends, to be your friends.

What A Mess!
I was hard pressed to finish this book but perservered. I would have done better to toss it and find something more interesting to read.

There was absolutely NO emotion by any of the characters in this book. The only reason the reader would know there was any was because the author said so.

And the ending was so murky, it's a definite let down. Why had the villain plotted revenge for 30 years? For what? The tragic event took place more than 58 years before. How would that have affected the villain?

I felt that a lot of pages got left somewhere. Jammed in a fax machine? Eaten by the author's dog? Don't know and don't care. If this is an example of Ms. Simmons work, I don't care to read anything else. This one goes to the used book store ASAP. Hopefully, to be traded for something worth reading.

Save your money for a good book with a decent plot and real emotions.

Nothing new here
It still manages to be mildly entertaining, despite the tired plot, fairly flat characters, and hackneyed mystery. The dog-in-the-pocket was funny, as was the sensitive Mrs. Danvers (who was fired from a previous position for burning toast. They thought she was trying to set fire to the house). If you are looking for a romance novel with something different to offer, you proablably shouldn't start with Lip Service, but if you are lloking for a mildly entertaining diversion to last you a few hours, buy it used.

Highly recommended
Trace Ballinger fought his way off the streets, into Harvard, and became a ruthless attorney. Elderly Cora Grant was one of his favorite clients. He called her "friend", even though she was a blue blood. She was considered to be eccentric. Her estate, Grantwood, was a maze and often doors were opened only to find a brick wall. Hidden rooms and secret staircases were everywhere. Trace was to execute the estate for her when she died. Cora left money to almost everyone in town! Grantwood and a huge inheritance was left to Schuyler, Cora's niece.

Schuyler flew in from her home in France. Cora left her a request to put "some old ghosts to rest". Cora believed the house to be haunted. Schuyler believed someone was playing games. Spooky sounds, lights in the night, and someone tried often to kill her. The two team up to catch the culprit, find and reveal old secrets, and explore the attraction between themselves.

**** A romance that reads much like a gothic! This one is a Keeper, Readers! It hooked me on page one and never let me go. It kept me reading well into the night. Highly recommended! ****

good for the summer
This was a nice book. I enjoyed reading it, but would not read it again

I would really like to give this book a 3 1/2 star rating
I enjoyed reading Ms. Simmons book, The Paradise Man, and feel that it was better than average (3 stars) but not quite deserving of a 4 star rating. If you like quick, light reading, you will love this book. The main charaters, though not thoroughly developed, are fun to follow through their adventures. The secondary characters are completely unbelievable and I felt detracted from the story. There are a few surprises, but for the most part I felt that the book was very predictable. If you want to kill a few hours relaxing on the beach then this is your book!

AN UNFORGETTABLE COMBINATION OF LOVE AND MYSTERY
This wonderful story brings together two great characters searching for different paths but ultimately finding common ground and passionate love. My first read of Simmons. A definate page turner. You'll not be able to wait to find out what these two will discover...

Did anyone say "suspension of disbelief"?
An absolutely dreadful book. Rather than clever plot and good writing, this book depends on incredible coincidences and bizarre behavior to forward a really dumb plot. The book read more like an episode of "Charlotte the Spy" rather than a historical novel. Would you believe two people with amnesia? Would you believe two coincidental meetings thousands of miles apart? Would you believe the hero and heroine meet by accident a three o'clock in the morning in a garden because they both couldn't sleep? And of course Victorian-era Princesses had lots of time to investigate crimes, and could sneak away pretty much at will, right? And, although the author continually tells us that the hero is so smart and clever, he does nothing smart or clever in the book ("And how is the weather?" he asked, cleverly changing the subject.....)Even worse is the most improbable denouement, of that style most honored by hack writers: all the good guys and bad guys gather around a gun and explain all the coincidences to the reader. I read the book to the end. I mean, it was published, right, an agent and an editor must have seen something good in it, right? It had to get better, right? Wrong. Alas, what a waste of a tree.

Pure Fantasy and I loved it!
If I want reality I know where to find it in real life. When I pick up a romance I want to have fun and read about a world different from my own. This story is about a princess. It says that right on the back of the book. I figured it was going to be a fantasy and it was. Besides, I had read Suzanne Simmons's Bed of Roses and loved it. I loved this book, too. It wasn't as funny as the first one, but I'd recommend it to anyone.

Reading this book is like entering a wonderful fantasy.
A beautiful princess. A handsome English lord. Intrigue, romance, adventure, sensuality, this book has it all. Quick and witty with the funniest valet that an English lord could have. A must read.

Not enough sparkle
Although having written 26 books at the time this book was printed, this is only Ms Simmon's second historical. I am not familiar with her work, but this book felt trite and cliched to me.

I found her virginal 24 year old heroine ordinary, and her duke was neither dangerous nor charming. There was some banter between them, but not enough to sparkle. The subplots were contrived and the so call secrets very easily discerned.

This is not a book I would recommend, there are far better regency style (it's set in victorian times but has a regency feel to it) romances out there.

A Nice read for a slow day
Lawrence, Duke of Deakin, is on a mission to get a rich wife. Miss Juliet Jones, a New York heiress, will do quite nicely, Lawrence decides. But there's just one hitch: Juliet is a romantic and will not be married for her money. The game is on, with Lawrence in danger of losing his heart...

I thought it was very funny and very sexy!
This is only the second book I've read by Ms. Simmons, but now I want to read them all! This is what I would call a frolic. It's funny, sexy and there's a small mystery, too. I like picking up a book and knowing from the first page or two that I'm going to have fun. That's what I felt with Diamond in the Rough. It's a real treat to discover a new author, besides!

Who can resist a really good "chase" story?
Suzanne Simmons brings us Coleman, the tough but tender rich guy, and Georgiana--the butler! Then Ms. Simmons takes us on a fabulously funny, sensual chase. This book is so outrageous I grinned through the entire story. The butler made a mistake when she saw too much. The filthy rich guy made a mistake when he took pity on the butler. Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail should have stayed home...

Georgiana and Coleman will always be glad they suffered minor slips in logic. You're in for a treat.

Stayed up until 3:00 a.m. to finish Lady's Man.
The story starts out with one suspenseful night and just gets better and better from there. Georgiana Burne-Jones is only doing her job when she literally stumbles onto a dead man. The problem is she may be counted among the murder suspects. Enter Coleman Worth, successful businessman with a tough-guy edge to him. For some reason his gut instincts tell him that the woman is telling him the truth when she claims to be an innocent bystander framed for the murder. He knows the perfect place to take her until the whole mess is cleared up. So they run. That's when I really started to enjoy the story even more. The bad guys are hilarious. The couple is very sensual. I loved the book!

A GREAT COUPLE ON THE RUN STORY
THIS BOOK READ REALLY FAST. THE ROMANCE BETWEEN THE COUPLE WAS MY FAVORITE PART, BUT I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE STORY. I WON'T GIVE THE ENDING AWAY BUT IT WAS A CLEVER TWIST I DIDN'T SEE COMING. I COULDN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN.

Gifts of Christmas
Back cover descriptions: Suzanne Barclay/KARA'S GIFT-A pagan healer falls in love with the Christian knight who is destined to save her dying clan.

Margaret Moore/THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS-A charming nobleman has twelve days to win the love of his intended bride.

Deborah Simmons/A WISH FOR NOEL-An orphan's Christmas wish comes true when she conquers the heart of her world-weary guardian.

I agree with the reviewer from GA that the Deborah Simmons story is the best of the lot, but it could have used more time to develope the plot and characters. However, I wasn't really thrilled with the other two stories. The hero in Ms. Moore's story just wasn't appealing-his transformation from vain jerk to love of the heroine's life wasn't convincing. In Ms. Barclay's story, the hero just doesn't seem to be all that smart. It doesn't seem at times as if the hero or heroine are in the same story--pagan christians, christians, druids--what?

Light reading for romantic short story fans
"Kara's Gift" by Suzanne Barclay. A wounded knight returning from the Crusades, Duncan MacLellan is nursed back to health by pagan/Christian Kara Gleanedin. Kara is convinced that Duncan is her clan's savior, the one she saw in her vision. Duncan is torn between his desire for Kara and his promises to a childhood sweetheart. Duncan's change of heart is well-defined.

"The Twelfth Day of Christmas" by Margaret Moore. Giselle Wutherton believes marriage is a prison. When her uncle announces a pending marriage agreement with Sir Myles Buxton, Giselle balks. Myles' brash attitude and ugly, expensive gifts do not help him woo his chosen lady. Then Giselle learns of Myles' unhappy childhood, his insecurities about being unwanted. Confused about her feelings, Giselle fights with an increasingly frustrated Myles. Chock full of emotion, the personal growth of both Giselle and Myles is well drawn. Seeing things from Myles' viewpoint on occasion helps redeem his arrogance with the reader.

"A Wish for Noel" by Deborah Simmons is my favorite of the three. Weary of battle and drained by a month of captivity, Benedick Villiers wishes only for a quiet haven when he returns to his holdings after five long years. Instead, Benedick finds a gaily decorated castle, clean and bright, and a beautiful ward, Noel Amery. Noel has loved Benedick since she first met him at the age of 12, but the feeling isn't mutual. Benedick announces Noel will be returned to her home after Epiphany, to await a husband chosen by Benedick. Noel has twelve days to change Benedick's mind and heart, with the help of a special Christmas wish. A lovely tale of a warrior longing for peace and a woman who learns the difference between infatuation and love.
