A lovely storybook to complement a wonderful lullaby!
What could be better than my favorite lullaby in the form of a storybook? The illustrations literally sail you far away into a dream world as the words/lyrics from the song guide you through this magical voyage on Lull-a-Bye Bay.

As a bonus too, Mr. Robert B. and Mr. Richard M. Sherman have written a second verse exclusively for this book. What a treat!

THE SHERMANS ARE AMAZING SONGWRITERS!
This is a magnificent song book for anyone who loves Disney or Sherman Brothers music. They wrote the songs for MARY POPPINS, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANK, JUNGLE BOOK, THE ARISTOCATS, CHARLOTTE'S WEB and THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE. Nine of their songs were nominated for Oscars. Twice they won an Oscar. They're just the greatest. I love this song book and play the music in it all the time with my kids. Some of their other great songs which are included here are "It's A Small World", "Feed The Birds", Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", Winnie The Pooh", "You're Sixteen" and "Tall Paul". These brother songwriters are the greatest. I loved "Walt's Time" too!

It's docious-ali-expi-listic-fragi-cali-roopus backwards!
What a great book about in my opinion the best songwriters! The Shermans had the opportunity to be with Disney during what I believe was the peak of the Disney Co. Their songs have warmed the hearts of millions of people across the world. My mother had never heard of the Shermans but whenever I sing their songs she says "I love that song, I didn't know they wrote that..." I can count on their songs being family friendly and joyful. I love Winnie the Pooh was not at all surprised when I discovered who wrote the songs! I never get tired of reading Walt's Time. The pictures are great and layout is so different. It is fun to read the background stories that is behind each song. Such as A Spoon full of Sugar and how Robert's son gave them the inspiration. I know the price makes it difficult for some of us. I personally do not own the book, but I love to borrow it from my library. It is a must read for every Disney and Sherman fan out there!

It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
This book is truly the gem of my library... A beautiful look at the careers of Robert B. and Richard M. Sherman! Reading this book brought back so many memories! Little did I realize that so many of my favorite Disney (and even non-Disney) musical films all had one special thing in common... the music of the Sherman Brothers.

This wonderful book is formatted like a huge scrapbook... its fun to read, and just packed with rare photos, cartoons and other memorabilia that would delight any reader.

"Nowhere is there a more happier book!"
Wow!, What a feast of fun! Here's the story of two of this century's most prolific and popular songwriters, the Sherman Brothers, finally cronicled in a superb scrapbook. Discover the Sherman Brothers' insights into the enigma that was Walt Disney, and learn of their dream job with this man.. who nurtured their talent, producing a sound that is truly instantly recognisable, the world over. These are the guys who created "the biggest word you ever heard", who left us singing of a "small, small world".. and gave lyrical life to a "fantasmagorical machine" called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

This is a lovingly remembered book by the Dick and Bob, put together with the help of a few amazingly dedicated fans. Bruce & David and Jeff have produced another gem of a book. With them, too much is never enough.. the photographic treasures, the office cartoons all give the impression of being invited to dinner with the Shermans. I was lucky enough to hear the Shermans at the piano for a preview of this book at a Disney fan's convention last year. That was a night I'll never forget.. as the brothers sang their way through the songs of my childhood. Now the feeling of that night (and my childhood) has been captured in print, and I can't be happier! Thanks guys, it's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious !

Almost all I needed to know
David Tietyens book is just what I wanted - a book about one of the most improtant things in Disney's movies - the music. The book contains pictures of the composers, background anecdotes about how the music were created, the role the songs played and much more. The only bad thing is, that it ends with Pete's Dragon, short after Walt's death. It would be nice with an updated version which covered the new movies (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin etc.)

Decent, but not as good as other books
This book takes each Disney animated movie, and analyzes it with the following subheadings: Original tale, Disney version, plot holes, bloopers, strange/critical reaction, attractions made, cutting room floor, and hidden images.

This book was more slow moving than his behind -the-scenes expose of Disneyland. If that's what you're looking for, purchase the Mouse Tales books. You won't find much interesting here. On the other hand, if you'd like to hear how the movies evolved, and enjoy uncovering hidden Disney images, this is a good book for you. You should be a fan of the animated movies to read this book, as there's little else here of interest.

It held my interest---but not by much.

Interesting glimpse behind the scenes of the masterpieces
I was surprised to find that Koenig's book details movies all the way up to Tarzan, and even hint at the future with the fact that "Treasure Planet" was planned long ago.
Filled with fascinating behind the scenes glimpses at the production of the movies, along with trivia notes and things to catch, this book makes watching the Disney Animated Features an extra special treat.
You'll learn about the missing songs from the classics, and just how Disneyland and WDW got their famous rides.

Recommended for the Disney phile- particularly those who want to study each film piece by piece now that most of them are available on video.

Entertaining Behind-The-Scenes Tales
This book presents a fascinating glimpse at the making of Disney's animated features, including story changes, bloopers, and theme park attraction tie-ins. My fiance and I are having a grand time looking for the bloopers cited for the various films (e.g., Gaston's disappearing and reappearing musket in "Beauty and the Beast"). I especially enjoyed seeing what original story lines were planned for each feature, and learning what scenes were removed because they didn't work. If you are a fan of Disney's work, you will doubtless enjoy learning how the films might have been different. Even some of the rides at Disneyland have changed in concept from their initial development due to changes in films. A very entertaining read indeed.

History of College of W&M
The history is told from the viewpoint of the adminbistration, not the student. This absence of the students'viewpoint is the major weakness. The first part deals with Colonial History up to the early 20th century when W&M became a public institution. As W&M has an extraordinary history, filled with war at the doorstep, constant struggle just to survive, the story is essentially interesting. The most informative part of the second section when the college is public is the insight into funding of a public university and the stupidity of some government officials, as the state auditor who recommended in the 1940s as I recall that all donated money be credited to the state. The contrary argument, which won, was that that would simply kill all donations to the college. This is a good book for libraries and may be used by students of American history to benefit.
