A terrific guide to wellness at home
This is an excellent reference book you can use practically every day for yourself or your family. Instead of spending a fortune going to a podiatrist, I treated my own ingrown toenail. I have learned so much from this book that I would recommend it to every parent and person interested in good health without spending a fortune. We can stay well without having to go to doctors all the time. As for the rude review about jumping on the fitness bandwagon, well, the University of California's School of Public Health is a reputable and highly-regarded institution out to help people stay well. They are not a bunch of half-baked quacks only out for the money. And anyone who has ever seen the Wellness Letter they produce every month knows they always offer excellent advice for everyone. If you want real experts who know what they are talking about, buy this book.

Excellent!
Full of all sorts of practical ideas that you can use at home. Though it is written by 2 top doctors, it is easy to read and use. I have managed to treat myself and my family with all of the fantastic information, and since it is from the School of Public Health, you know these people are not out to sell your stuff or glorify themselves the way some doctors on ego-trips do. An essential reference book that everyone should own.

Excellent reference guide
If you need a clear, well-organized, and up-to-date guide to your health , this is the perfect book for you. Almost all the general medical knowledge a person needs is covered here. On one page, for example, you learn how to evaluate your blood pressure. On another, you get a quick lesson on glaucoma - its symptoms, its causes, and how to deal with it. Should you have to consult a doctor, you will have instant access to some crucial information. Do yourself a favor and put this handbook in your reference collection.

Wannabe
This book tells the story of two people whose careers took totally different paths - one to success and one to near complete failure. The author of this book, Edward De Leo, worked with Al as a mentor very early on in Pacino's acting career, and probably helped him a great deal, but once Al became successful, De Leo was little more than a nuisance to him, hitting him up for movie parts and money over the years. The story of Edward De Leo's life is really pretty pitiful and the introduction of little bits of information about Pacino, although somewhat interesting at times, fail to disguise this book as anything other than one more attempt by a man who perhaps feels entitled to a piece of Al's success, to exploit it. Kudos to Pacino, who, by all accounts, treated this "old friend" with kindness and generosity. For Pacino fans, there are some interesting tidbits...

Edward De Leo
I think that this book is very good and well written i had a good time reading it and i think that if you want to read a tale of two actors read this book i highly recommend it. Edward De Leo should write more books i look forward to seeing your next book. Thanks and Good Luck

On a scale of 1 to 10, a solid 1
My only qualification for judging this book is that I am old and would like to know more about what is happening to me and what to do about it. I have read a number of articles in such periodicals as The Reader's Digest, Time Magazine, etc., but I was eager to see a more comprehensive account of what goes on as aging progresses, and how best to deal with it. So I ordered this book. What did I learn? NOTHING! It covers much of the commonplace information that I've seen dozens of times -- in newspapers, in widely circulated magazines, and in pamphlets given away at the local old folks' center. For instance a little forgetfulness does not imply Alzheimer's, and senior citizens should maintain contact with other people. Mayo, perhaps the most highly reputed of the general clinics, should have lots to say, but this book barely deserves one star. I am so disappointed that I'm sending this book back for a refund.

Mayo Clinic on Healthy Aging
Mayo Clinic on Healthy Aging is about taking better care of yourself physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and financially. Chapter 2 addresses changes in your body and what you can do to prevent them, Chapter 2 discusses your mind, chapter 4 your spirit. This book is especially useful for people interested in planning and preparing for life after retirement. Useful for caregivers as well. I would also recommend Mayo Clinic on Alzheimer's Disease not only for those with Alzheimer's but because of the excellent "Quick Guide for Caregivers."
