This book is filled with the questions facing young adults every day. It deals with everything from growing up in a single-parent family to hope for kids contemplating suicide. It also handles less dire issues such as a straight-A student dealing with pride. By the way, I'm 23, so if I think this is great, anyone from 12 to 23 is sure to, also!

Fine photojournalism, good information about "The New China," but the reader finally realizes that the whole "opening" theme has a Christian purpose: This changing, open-to-the-West China is ready for evangelical work. The almost-hidden agenda didn't hit me until page 81, and I felt a bit deceived. Still, the book is a good overview of all that is changing in China (de-emphasis, of course, on China's own spiritual and still-powerful cultural traditions).
