Whelan has done it again!
Whelan once again brings us an awe inspiring collection of fantasy illustrations. His work is detailed in beautiful hues. He does justice to the world of fantasy.

The calendar is utilizes fonts large enough to be read from across the room. It uses a Sunday through Saturday format. Last year I had a calendar that went Saturday through Friday. I was forever a day behind.

Worth the Money!
Whelan has done it again, the artwork shines. I am almost sorry I can view all twelve illustrations all year round.

The calendar itself is well designed, no missing months, that I noticed. :) They used the standard Sunday to Saturday format. The calendar I had last year showed Monday to Sunday. I was forever off a day.

Another Stunning Calendar
Once again, Michael Whelan has graced us with a beautiful calendar. This year, there are five winged dragon pictures, with seven non-dragon "Mystics" pictures.

The calendar page (date section) lists the usual US, UK, NZ, Canadian, and Australian holidays and Days of Importance. Phases of the moon are listed, as are the previous/coming month in the lower corner (the previous/coming months being something left out of far too many calendars these days). Each calendar page features a grayscale sketch in the background, and the day squares are large enough to make legible notes.

The calendar is on thick, glossy paper. This year's (2003) pictures, by name, are: Crown of Shadows, The End of Nature I, Goldwing, The Reach, Dragonsbane, Hope, Mountain of Black Glass, Dragon Prince, Arkady, Stronghold, The Narrow Way, Amazing Dragon. High quality, beautiful colors, crisp and clear images, very frame-worthy.

My personal favorite this year is the stunning "Crown of Shadows," a black-clad male figure holding aloft a black sword. The figure's eyes are glowing, and there is a faint female form behind him, underneath the erupting volcano. Also worth mentioning are "The Reach," a young female hanging from a heavy chain (grasping the chain, not chained to) and reaching down for something. Behind her seems to be the dilapidated inside of a tower (this was the cover for Zettel's sci-fi book "Kingdom of Cages.") "Arkady" features a young woman standing in the forefront, with a twisting arch far behind her. The blue shades in this picture are amazing. "The End of Nature" is a woman walking along flat treetops, with no ground in sight.

A calendar is something that hangs on your wall for a year, and is something you glance at every day. Why not have something beautiful and distracting?

Highly recommended.

This book is so funny..and so true
I thought no one else could describe the way they love their dogs like I do..but I was wrong :-). This book had me laughing cause it reminded me of how bad my husband and I spoil our 'kids'. They have their own 'pup' shower, pillows, you get the idea. For those who love their pups, this book is definitely worthwhile. We give it a two 'paws' up!

A Dog Lovers Must
This book is hysterical. If you are a dog lover and will do almost anything for your pooch this book will make you laugh. It is almost embarrassing to see yourself in many of the pages. I have given this to other dog lovers as a gift and it is always enjoyed. The cartoon illustrations are fantastic.

Crazy over dog!
This is really happened! Only you love your dog too much and you will do crazy things! U just wanna laugh over the incident because, thing book share the joy and you feel that you are not the only one who do crazy things for dog. It not crazy but certainly NORMAL! Enjoy and be happy to have a dog to lighten up your life!

interesting photography
it's a pity that even the cover is not shown here, the photographs featured are rather interesting in that they are generally black and white, but the subjects have a nice hue to them. this calendar is more of a collector's item than something nice to look at every month. a guaranteed great gift for anyone who is interested in buddhism and likes photography.

beautiful childhood memories
This is the most beautiful book ever. When I was younger I would read and just examine every detailed illustration in the entire book for hours. On one page, there is a orchard with easter eggs hidden everywhere...I would try to find every one of them. It is just the most wonderfully illustated book I have ever laid my eyes on. I lost my book a long time ago, so now I'm just waiting for that check card to come in the mail so I can finally buy it. I can't wait.

A nice slow way to look at yoga
This calendar was just what I was looking for. Each month details a single position, with simple step-by-step instructions and a short description. I am also pleased with how many holidays are included. For example, February includes the New Zeland holiday Waitangi Day, along with the Chinese New Year and the more Euro- and Americo-centric holidays. The New and Full moons are also indicated.

I've never done any yoga, so I can't speak to the difficulty level, but this seems like just the way for me to get started nice and very very slow.
