Lenegrin is one of the few books I've looked forward to reading again. Great writing! Let's hope there are many more where this one came from!
Lenegrin is the tale of a man who has lost his memory, but finds himself in the middle of an enemy camp, brought there cold, bloody, and hungry by an old woman. He has no idea of his identity, but quickly learns he is some type of warrior. He flees after killing a man who threatens him, only to find himself in the company of a strange group of companions. He only remembers the term "Lenegrin."
"When it was light enough, I was able to see my traveling companions. On my left sat a tall, think man of early middle age with a beaked nose and a lifeless expression on his face. Next to him, a ragged adolescent girl was sitting with her mother, who was even more ragged than the daughter. The Mother held a baby on her lap and clutched a large basket holding a pair of birds inside. Sitting across from me was a frail ancient-looking man, with a shock of snow-white hair. He had a sack with a strap slung over his shoulder. None of them seemed to pay me any attention.
Jonathan D. Scott accomplishes many things with Lenegrin. First, he employs language and myth to create an "every man" type of character. He also entertains us with a great story of searching, self-doubt, and ultimate redemption. But he leaves enough shrouded in mystery to captivate and bemuse his readership. At the end of the tale we are thirsting for more. Just when we begin to understand what Lenegrin the place is all about, Scott pulls down the curtain. Hopefully this is just a tease for the sequel he has in mind. Lenegrin could be another "Lord of the Rings". We're not sure. We'll just have to wait and see.

The animal photographs are mostly grouped by subject and include lions, leopards, zebras, wart hogs, impalas, cheetahs, wildebeest, hyenas, crocodiles, vultures, and wild dogs. The subjects are usually of animal families, migration, killing, and eating in often symbolic settings for these activities. The Masai images come at the book's end, sort of completing the evolutionary progression of the food chain.
You probably have heard of the Serengeti. It's a vast grassland in Tanzania, and is now protected as the Serengeti National Park there. The Masai Mara National Reserve is in neighboring Kenya, and the two lands are connected geographically, if not politically. A map in the book will display all of this for you. This site is the area where humans probably first walked the face of the Earth, and the dwindling of these remarkable spaces marks the potential for us to lose our ability to visualize our roots.
The name, Serengeti, in Masai means "land of endless space." The closest we have to this habitat in the United States that I have seen is the brief enclosure in the wild animal park that the San Diego zoo maintains near Escondido, California.
The action photographs impressed me the most. These show predators literally flying and spinning in the air just before they land while the terrorized prey wheels desperately away. The action is captured almost like a key play in a sporting event. That's pretty typical of the photography here. The images emphasize action and perspectives that you do not yet have, and this book will add wonderfully to your sense of the special nature of the grasslands of Africa.
After you have finished expanding your vision of natural selection, I suggest that you think about the ways that our lives are enhanced by understanding our origins and how our lives are not. How can we draw inspiration from nature and stand in our most meaningful role?
Look for what few have seen . . . always! Truth will emerge from your trial.

This easy to read book is a "gold mine" of practical information that can be used by folks who have ADD as well as their partners to enrich their romantic relationship(s).
Jonathan Scott Halverstadt, M.S. is up to date on the latest research and theory related to attention deficit disorder. He speaks "from the heart" and I guarantee you this book is just "packed with information" that will help you to understand your own romantic behavior and will give you lots of tips and strategies to make the most of your romantic relationship(s).
I've read at least ten books on ADD and many of them were very helpful to me. However, A.D.D. & Romance by Jonathan Scott Halverstadt, M.S. is by far the best book I've read on the subject of ADD and romance.
