Dream of a Book
Schoenewolf lists thousands of dreams - apparently from his own personal practice as well as published case histories - and offers succinct interpretations. Arranged alphabetically by subject of dream, the book is fascinating for those of us who value dreams and their inner meanings. While each entry is by necessity abbreviated, enough information is given about the dreamer and his/her background so that the quick analytical summary which follows is clear and easy to follow. Literally a dictionary, not a book with a throughline of any sort, it's a valuable and easy-to-use resource for checking out dreams similar to your own, or just for exploring the wonderful and mysterious dream worlds of strangers.

A Quick Read
Well-written, this one can be gobbled up in a matter of hours. But is it a good view of multiplicity? Well, it's standard, i.e. trauma-based and ending in integration. The interesting thing here is how her therapist deals with her. He nearly falls in love with her and walks away from the therapy because he has become too emeshed. It certainly isn't the type of therapy I'd want, but is is a compelling story.

no surprises. more like theraputic ..
it's basically about you and your loved one acting out parts, at some times with their acknowledgement so that you later talk about it and look at it through psychologists eyes.

Helpful healing
Concentrating on the barriers they we erect between even our most loved ones, this book details numerous exercises which can be used to overcome these obstacles and achieve greater intimacy, often as expressed sexually.

The book was very boring and the essentials have been discussed by many other authors he had very few of his own ideas and was very repititous.

Yuck...
I wanted to like this, I really did. The thought of having these three masters in the same book was enticing, so I took a chance. Big mistake! I own several versions of the Tao Te Ching and have read many more and this one is among the worst. The illustrations are amatuerish and distracting, in fact, down-right ugly; the "verse" is sing-songy and instead of serving to anchor the meaning in the readers mind only agravates matters. While it's apparent Dr. Shoenewolf does have an understanding of the Tao (he's been studying far longer than I have) he's neither a poet nor an artist. I wish I could say Chuang Tzu and Seng T'san faired any better.

If you really must have a poetic rendering of the Tao Te Ching, Witter Bynner's "The Way of Life" is far superior.(Though it has its own problems) However, the first translations I'd recommend are the Feng/English Addiss/Lombardo & John C.H. Wu versions. But, if you really want to understand this most sublime text, do yourself a favor and buy a good translation/commentary like those of Ellen M. Chen (simply outstanding), Richard John Lynn, and also a fine book dealing with the mystical and meditative aspects often overlooked by other authors is "The Guiding Light of Lao Tzu" by Henry Wei.

Please don't get your Tao from the likes of Shoenewolf, Mitchell, LeGuin, and others who can't help but Westernize it. A tip I got off the internet recently seems to hold remarkably true:If it's not published by a University Press - with few exceptions - it's probably not worth reading.
